Cotto + Pavlik thread, Feb 21st

I think this is getting an appropriate lack of attention. Cotto's opponent is a nobody with barely any KOs - he's as safe as can be, as far as I can tell. Considering what Cotto did to Gomez, I hope the ref steps-in to stop this quick before Jennings gets hurt.

Pavlik has a much better opponent.

There's a hype-up show being distributed by MSG.com. Cotto's got a tribal tattoo from his ribs down to his thighs and he's now fluent in English! No mention of Margarito's wraps.

Deep card, with:
Anthony Peterson (27-0-0) vs Edner Cherry (24-6-2) – Lightweight
John Duddy (25-0-0) vs Matt Vanda (37-8-0) - Middleweight

Good tests for both prospects. Vanda's the guy who SD'd JCCJr. Cherry fought Paulie.

Streamable card, this PPV won't sell well.

I agree that Peterson will get tested by Cherry. Pavlik and Cotto should rebound with KO wins.

I haven't even been paying attention, what are Pavlik's plans as far as weight classes go? Those extra 8 were clearly not good for his power. And he comes in well under 160?
