UFN April 1

Kampmann vs Condit
Almeida vs Horwich
Jeremy Stephens vs Tibau
Griffin vs dos Anjos
Jorge Rivera

Not much else to my eye. Sort of disappointing compared to previous editions. But IDK.

I don't see how Horwich can win that. That's about as bad a style match-up as you can get. His game is entirely him walking through whatever until he can drag you down. But down is not where he can possibly hang with Almeida. With only one fluke KO on his record, I don't see what he can do.

I think Condit might try to hang on his feet with Kampmann. That would be awesome. Carlos is really exciting.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Horwich can't win that fight. Condit will either look very good or very bad in his fight.

Condit vs. Kampmann is awesomeness. Two hungry young guys looking to make a name in the UFC WW division. Tough to pick a winner. One of the better UFN main events in recent memory, IMO.

Good that Griffin actually got a spot on the main card. For a while it looked like he was going to get screwed.

Junie Browning vs. Cole Miller has my interest.

Bader vs. Marrero will probably be awful. Hopefully Bader just runs through him quickly.

Horwich should be a fairly easy win for Almeida. Not that Horwich is a can, just that Almeida is basically a better version of him.

All those guys have tough fights. I like Steinbeiss when I saw him last. I always root for Bader and Condit.

Steve is a beast, he probably has the best kicks in the gym, and his ground game is underrated. Nice to see him get some props, he is the most underrated fighter on the MTX team IMO. Mackenzie seperated my jaw afew years back so I am hoping Simpson puts a beating on him, nothing personal though.

I don't know if anyone has asked this, but do you actually fight on cards or do you just train?

Cool. I've kicked around the idea of starting to train for like a year now. Never seem to find the time though.

Its pretty fun, I moved to AZ from Los Angeles and didnt have much to do so I took up BJJ, I end up losing 30 lbs in a year, but the down side is I have a pinched nerve in my neck, torn rotater cuff, broken nose, new scars on my face, dislocated jaw and many other minor injuries. To start off I would just do the BJJ Gi classes 1st till you get a good foundation. Most of my injuries i got when I 1st started.

I was pleased with how his sub game has come along and he obviously has potential but he needs to finish some more of those subs or learn to strike better. *cue CBR on how he is too musclebound to effectively strike*

Why does Condit insist on taking it to the ground when it appears Kampmann is stronger on the ground but Condit is better on his feet? mahalo

+1 Carlos should have sprawled and brawled, he is slick off his back but his strength is his stand up. Awsome fight though, Kampmann is a beast.

Condit vs Kampmann was awesome! Grappling drama.

Good elbows from Condit. They're not used as counters well enough, I don't think. "Underutilized technique in MMA".

Ha. I swear, the second I saw his physique tonight as he entered the cage, I turned off the fight. IDK who the hell he is, but by his physique alone, he can't strike. Go compete in Mr Universe, asshat.

I thought Bader looked good and I did not feel he was laying and praying. He was trying to end the fight, hell he even gave up position to go for an armbar, something you will never see Guida do. Bader's wrestling is just sick.

Glad to see Junie get shut up by a real fighter.

Tyson Griffin gutted out a great win. The way his leg was twisted was just sick and he was clearly hurt, whether he wants to admit it or not.

The Condit/Kampmann fight was the best UFC fight in quite some times. Both guys looked fantastic. I personally thought Condit won both the 1st and 2nd rounds, but they were so close. I think Condit needed a warm up fight to adjust to the UFC. It was a pretty big step up in talent from the WEC, and even though I think he can handle it, he wold have done better with a gimme before a fight like this. Either way, he is young and exciting and his best days in the UFC are ahead of him.

Yeah, I just watched the Bader fight, and he's not nearly as built as I thought at first. His shoulders are reasonable. That was pretty dynamic wrestling too. Very little in the guard. Why his opponent was throwing lunging punches, though...wtf? He was running right into takedowns.

Like I said in a previous post Bader was looking ripped before he left, he works with a personal trainer and by the looks of things I think he walks around lighter these days so the "cut" isnt so hard. I have watched his strength training sessions and a majority of it is circuit training.

Any truth to the rumor that Bader blew out his ACL last night?

I'll ask around, where did that rumour come from? I know Riddle blew his acl but that was a while ago.
