The year is almost over and I would like to give thanks to everyone who regularity contributes to the Boxing and MMA board. I personally enjoy reading all the threads here and thankfully we have a good camaraderie and don't get sucked into the whole fanboy/homer/hater status that sadly infects alot of other boards here in realgm.

2010 will be the year of the B&MMA Forum.

I used to go on Sherdog for MMA talk but the average person there is emotional, irrational, and just bashes other fighters/events. I love this board because people are educated about the sport and opinions are respected.

I like this board a lot, I just wish it was more active. I know there are lots of MMA fans on RealGM, we just have to get them all over here.

Sherdog is awful. Too much trolling, and it moves too fast. It might as well be a chat room half the time, so nobody wants to actually put any thought into their posts.

Yeah I still go over on Sherdog and post time to time, but its literally at that stage where you just quote some idiot to correct them and never check back to their innevietable horrendous post.

I was thinking of doing a thread over on my Orlando Board just promoting some of the other forums, I think a lot of people are not aware that RealGM has other sports forums (it is kind of tucked away), I mean this year I honestly saw someone say that he didn't even realise we had a general board!

May drum up a handful more people from my end.

Have you visited the Bloody Elbow on the SBNation? Brent and company pretty much are my go to place for MMA.

I've been there, but all I really saw were short comments on news stories and stuff. Is there an actual forum there?

I usually visit MMAJunkie and I post on the forums there from time to time.

Nah there isn't a forum, just a comments section that is updated in realtime. It is pretty cool. No lag compared to the boards where you need to refresh to get new posts. I go there and to badlefthook for round by round and for the most part you have good discussion.

I noticed with alot of the boards, you get a collection of obtuse posters that just ruin topics at times. I bitch about the general board but man, some other boards are beyond horrible.

I think we have still one more day to end the year.I wish all a happy new year.
