Haven't even had UFC 109 yet and they are anouncing as far as UFC115 - and strike force's next card in 3 weeks is still yet to be officially full as of the last time I checked.

But good news for the Canadians and so on.

It's cool that Canada is getting 2/3 cards from UFC 113-115. I was reading that Liddell/Ortiz could happen at 115.

Rory MacDonald Is from Kelowna So he'll most likely be on the card.

Looks like i was right and MacDonald will be on the card fighting non other than... Carlos Condit?

Seems like a pretty big step up. I think Rory can probably win this one, but when/if he does, then what? He's 20 years old and pushing the top 10 while training at, no offense intended of course, Toshido MMA... A pretty tough situation.

Hopefully he'll be ready for that.

I don't think Rory is ready for Condit. If he wins though he will be in line for one of the big boys at 170.

Condit will give Rory his first defeat.

I don't know what to think. My first instinct is to notice all the names - the UFC is going to have a massive pay-out on the salaries for this one. Massive. I bet even Akiyama and Condit come with large price tags. On the other hand, only one fight is in any way relevant to contendership. That's the Condit fight. But even then Condit's not facing another contender, just another tough guy with heavy hands. The rest of the main card has big names, but no one who will ever be getting a (nother) title shot.

This card is dreamy IMO. The top 6 fights on that card look like barnburners that should end in an exciting fashion.

How is Condit any closer to a title shot than Griffin (and if he wins, Dunham), or the Akiyama/Wandy winner?

I would bet a large sum of money that one of Chuck, Tito, Akiyama, Wandy, or Griffin get a title shot before Condit.

I don't think any of those guys have Condit's potential.

I think Tyson Griffin has accomplished a lot more than Condit, is higher in the pecking order at his weight class, and probably still has a higher ceiling.

You might even be able to say the same about Evan Dunham.

I don't rate Condit's run as WEC champ that highly, and he hasn't looked that impressive in the UFC thus far. He could make a run at the title in the future, but right now, he's nowhere near it. Probably a good 3-4 wins away against competition better than he's ever faced before. I like the fight, but it's not relevant in the title picture at all. It's a prospect fight.

As for Chuck, Tito, Wandy, and Akiyama....they might not deserve title shots, but if any of them put 2 wins together, I think they are very much in the mix. Hell, if any of them look super impressive, they might just jump the line (applies more to Wandy/Akiyama though).

All of the decision wins in the LW division sort of bleed together for me, I'm not going to lie. Edgar/Griffin/Guida - I can't call to mind any of their records, who they lost to or who they've won against.

So you might be right about Griffin.

My jury is out on how good Condit is. I thought he was going to look a lot better in the UFC than he is. This will be a big fight in deciding if he is a contender or a gatekeeper.

No Canadians, strangely. Scanning it, I don't recognize any to be Canucks. Wa-oh. That doesn't breed well for Vancouver's chances of pulling this.

That's an awesome card. Good match-making top to bottom. All the fights are pick-ems. Rothwell's the only guy I'd bet on.

I'm a bit underwhelmed by that card. Probably because I don't like Fitch and I have no interest in Franklin/Liddell. Will still watch it, hopefully Rothwell/Yvel and Danzig/Wiman makes it onto the PPV.

I think Rory MacDonald is Canadian, and from Vancouver, if I'm not mistaken, but it is a bit surprising that there aren't more Canadians on the undercard.

I like the card though. Lots of close fights, even if they don't really have the name value. After UFC 112, I think I'll take the card with the close matchups over the one with big names in fights that aren't all that compelling.
