Should be a pretty huge card. First ever open air UFC and a very good card so far.

Vitor is OUT-
http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2010/2/11/13 ... title-bout

Sonnen is likely the replacement.

*Edit- Sonnen is medically suspended until March because of the cut so that probably will not happen.

If Chonen is ready for this fight mark my words right here, he WILL upset Silva. This will go down as the biggest upset in MMA. Sonnen is a horrible match up for Silva, he is a awsome wrestler, iron chin, and great conditioning. The biggest factor is going to be the fact that Sonnen will not be one bit intimidated by Silva, which is something he is not used to seeing. (see Sonnen/Filho)

This.

And Silva isn't really a guy you want to fight on short notice. Sonnen isn't dumb enough to squander his shot.

Not sure what the contracts look like. But, on the same day Belfort pulled out of this fight, Gegard Mousasi left M1. Hmmmm.

Not only that, but he's a guy that strikes me as willing to stick to his game plan, no matter what people may think of it.

He said he wants to honor what' left with his SF contract. So it appears at least 1 more fight on the April CBS card and he might go to Dream after that.

But he will sign with the UFC by the end of the year, mark it down. It's where the money is and he knows it. And some people have said that M1 wasn't entirely truthful when they discussed the UFC with him.

I wonder if him training with GSP had any influence...

"Sonnen said Friday he had a discussion with UFC matchmaker Joe Silva and will not be offered the fight. UFC president Dana White said Friday that Silva will remain on the card, but said he still does not have an opponent."

Really the best option at this point. Interesting matchup too.

Would be nice to see Akiyama or Belcher fight Anderson at 112. Isn't Maia under a 90 day suspension for a cut?

Yes I believe you're right but he just needs to get cleared by the Athletic Commission. UFC.com already has an article so it's official.
