Well after the hype train that was TUF10 this one is more like a hype scooter, but I enjoyed the first show. I'm really interested in a few of the fighters. I loved the guy that won after 5 or 6 beastly head kicks. He'll probably get taken down and dominated in his next fight, but that was fun to watch. And that guy with the emo haircut had the most f'd up nose break I have ever seen.

Do any of you guys who follow the lower levels of MMA have your eyes on anyone in particular?

Nick Ring whooped Woody Weatherby, who holds a KO win over John Howard. By default, he now becomes someone to watch, if he wasn't already (though he is, here in Canada).

Nick Ring is this years best up and comer. The Shaub of the group. Kyle Noke is this seasons experienced vet. The Big Country of the group.

Very even talent level this year it seems. Should make for good fights.

The fights were terrible last year. Basically all of the guys were not prepared, out of shape, or had no talent. I have higher hopes for this season.

I was impressed by a bunch of the guys, this season should be real good. Jamie Yager looks like a real exciting fighter, but comes off a prick in the previews.

Any guesses on who the two "wild cards" might be?

I was thinking Victor O'Donnell or whatever (the guy who lost to Chris Camozzi), and the guy who got his nose broken, but they both came out of the fights with injuries. I don't know why they would make such a big deal out of both of those guys if they weren't coming back.

Another choice would be the guy who was dominating Joe Henle.

Other than that, I just remember a bunch of people getting KTFO'd and that French guy quitting.

O'Donnell is definitely one if he's able to. Dana was impressed with the toughness of broken nose guy, but he didn't seem to have an abundance of skills or anything.

Also for anyone who didn't know you can go to www.ultimatefighter.com and watch every season. Only problem is the video player sucks and the ads are annoying.

^ that's awesome been wanting to re-watch a few of the previous seasons too

Also this season looks like some great fights ahead.

The preview made it look like a rampage/rashad feud with chuck/tito so we'll see how that plays out too.

Just watched it, looks like this season will be close fought fights, a lot of bangers, and by the looks of it only 1 "lucky" guy to be in the house (the dude that seemed to be dominated then literally fell over into a arm bar).

Could be interesting.

I really enjoyed watching those fights. I was just going to pick the best wrestler to win, but most of these guys seemed like strikers. The only guy who wrestled a bunch in his fight almost got KO'd a couple times. I have no clue where to go with this season.

As much as last season didn't live up to the hype, it did produce what it was supposed to. One guy who is clearly the cream of the crop who has beaten a few legitimate opponents (in surprisingly impressive fashion) on his way to becoming a marketable commodity for the company. Say what you will about Roy Nelson, but he's done nothing since the show to hurt his stock. He beat Schaub in the Finale match with an impressive KO. And he just destroyed Struve who (despite being gimmicky) is a decent prospect with decent showings on his record already. Both times I believe he won KO of the night. And despite being 33, he doesn't seem to take that much punishment (never seen him lose though). He should still have a couple of years to do something.

I'm not saying he's a top-5 guy yet, but I'm not sure anyone would be surprised if he defeated a top-10 guy in the division. He just might not have the size (heighy) to compete with those super heavyweights ie, 6'4" 265lbs of pure muscle.

Ya, really good first episode.
Chuck saying the tapping to strikes thing and tito's reaction was pretty amusing.

I really hope that crazy kick guy gets matched up with a striker, or has some decent take down defense. Those things looked wicked.

That busted nose was insane. The emo hair guy got what he wished for in something memorable.

O'Donnell is back in the house for sure as one of the two, unless his orbital bone is too messed. He looked really good in his matchup.

Not sure who the other guy will be. Either Emo, or the guy who was winning his fight the whole time but git caught by an arm bar.

Tito comes off as an excellent coach/guy every time on these shows.

No way. Please. It's all vanity, he's not thinking of the fighters for one second. He's so intensely aware of his image.

It's like him praising the troops ("because they're the real warriors", "we wouldn't be here tonight without them") anytime the crowd starts booing his post-fight excuse-making. It's all contrived. The only proof you need of his savvyness is the fact he's winless in 4 straight fights and still gets headline billing.

Yeah, I think he was trying a little bit too hard. He's so fake that it's hard to tell what the real Tito Ortiz is like. Maybe it's the caring coach, maybe it's the douchebag with the "cracked skull."

I'm also not sure if his triangle defense drills after the fight were great coaching or horrible coaching. On one hand, the fighter is definitely going to remember that. On the other hand, there's a pretty good chance he already knew it, and that might not have been the best time to make him drill a triangle escape in front of everyone. On some other third hand, if that really bothered the guy, he probably would never amount to much anyway.

Yeah I am with CPT and cowboy on this, Ortiz came off like a good coach in S3 - but partly because of how bad Shamrock was - and how they chose to show the coaching to us.

But so far in S11 - looks really fake to me, or rather a show for the camera to try and play off what he was cast as in Season 3. I mean lets face it, even in S3, Bisping moaned about Ortiz about how he just trained his favourite (Hamil), and kind of "cast others to the side because he's picked his champion". So swings and roundabouts, alot of its in the editting I guess.

Im not arguing whether it's sincere or not, I'm just stating that he comes off very very well.
He knows how to market himself; he's great in front of a camera.
