Re: WWE: Summer Slam
What a waste of a Summerslam, and probably the worst one in history. Worst Taker return I've ever seen, and besides the WWE botching Danielson's return, they have Cena actually announce him instead of having him come out to a custom titantron and new music to really blow the roof off. What a mess.

That really pissed me off. They have Cena calmly say, "the 7th member is Daniel Bryan". The crowd barely even reacted to it, because Cena didn't sell it as a huge thing at all, and because as much as we all love Danielson he's still not a completely household name yet. The whole thing should be on a Botchamania vid on youtube.

Haven't agreed much with you lately, but I have to agree with what your saying now. Watching the replay last night, I was like....does Taker have a cramp in his leg? then Cole tried talking about him being in a vegetate state before or whatever it was. Regardless that part was done very poorly.
I don't mind the part where The Miz came out and was told by Cena he wasn't on the team, cuz it set up a program for The Miz and Danielson for later. But they should of had Danielson should of came out to a custom titantron and music of his own, without the Cena announcement.

Re: WWE: Summer Slam
I could see a couple potential problems with that. One, I'm guessing the WWE made this decision to put Bryan in this match within the past few days. I have no idea how long it takes to make a custom titantron but they may not ahve had enough time. The bigger issue is that, like you guys said, he's not that well known and had he come out without a formal introduction the crowd reaction could've been even worse.

Re: WWE: Summer Slam
If Cena would have yelled the name daniel bryan it would have been perfectly fine.
It's funny, the only time I want cena to show emotion and scream, he doesnt.

They spend literally millions of dollars for graphic design types to create their video packages and what not. They could make a titantron of ME that would look badass within 24 hours if they wanted to. Bottom line is, they didn't put hardly any effort into bring Danielson back in a cool way.
I still can't get over how bored and uninspired Cena sounded with "the 7th member is Daniel Bryan". It bugs the hell out of me, considering he overacts EVERYTHING up to this point and then all of a sudden just plays this quiet, timid crap at a point when he could've put Danielson over simply by showing some excitement about him.

I have to admit I cracked up when I read that. Maybe he should've had a custom titantron and maybe Cena should've had more bass in his voice when he introduced him.
But WOW are you guys nitpicking. The guy is re-introduced in the main event of Summerslam, he's booked stronger in the match than everyone outside of Cena and he's got a tailor made feud that will likely result in him winning the US title. So yeah it may not have been perfect, but overall it was pretty darn good.

Re: WWE: Summer Slam
Think everyone is/was happy to see him back, especially the way he went out was stupid. I think he's more well known then people think. I mean hes and "internet sensation", today he was probably more searched online then Justin Bieber lol.
Plus all the fans around the world that go to see WWE chanted his name when they got the chance to and brought signs to shows to bring him back. I think he has more of a fanbase/is popular more then some guys on the WWE roster.
Regardless the point is the WWE could have and should have made his comeback crazier.

Re: WWE: Summer Slam
It's not nitpicking, it's fact. What could've been a really epic moment was ruined by the way they presented it. Either give Cena two cups of coffee before he goes out so he can show some energy, or have him come out with a Titantron and his own entrance theme. Even if it's just his name flash on the tron like Jericho's debut, it would've at least been something.

Re: WWE: Summer Slam
Its the definition of nitpicking. Instead of talking about the major aspects of his return, the match he came back, the way he was booked in the match, you're choosing to focus on relatively minor aspects of his return. Yeah it wasn't perfect, but it was pretty darn good. This guy was booked stronger than Edge, a 9-time heavyweight champion.
Y2J's debut was great, although The Rock did kind of bury him. But his next 6 months in the company he was booked like crap running the gauntlet of the DX B-team of Road Dogg, X-Pac and Chyna. Until he started his feud with Kurt Angle, his entrance was the only watchable aspect of his segments

Re: WWE: Summer Slam
Bryan didn't have his own music IIRC. Either way, who cares? Seriously, we're going to pick on an intro? That's a joke.
I thought Summerslam was ok. Kane messed up opening the casket and you can tell as he opened it too early, then went back to close it. I'm happy Kane attacked Undertaker and actually seemingly won that battle. That's a guy who's long been buried and they always turned him for the worse. He started off as Kane, Undertaker's seemingly almighty and stronger brother to a guy fighting Rey Mysterio who is flat garbage and having him job half the time. If anyone deserves a long title reign, it's Kane. The only way to do it is a demented psychopath. note: I enjoyed his Nailz storyline much better back in 92.
Orton and Sheamus' match was good until the end. I was hoping and thinking they would cash in Miz's shot and he would win.
Miz's promo was simply "awesome". He should've been in the match instead of Bret Hart. In fact, for the main event, I would've been happier with Bret being the last guy, then the Hart Dynasty coming out and helping him win out of nowhere opposed to Cena taking a ddt on the concrete, then beating 2 guys in 2 minutes right after. Also, Edge and Jericho should've lasted longer.
Either way, Nexus got buried bad there. Really bad.
