The one candidate for me is the barbed wire match. I was watching a match recently involving Terry Funk, Hayabusa, and a few other wrestlers. There was an explosion then a wrestler brought out a knife. I quit watching. This is more violent than the average barbed wire match, but it shows the kind of pointless violence these matches have. The other problem I have is a wrestler can't use the ropes or turnbuckles, so it limits what a wrestler can do. That's why other matches have produced match of the year candidates and barbed wire has not.

Are there any specific examples? Many of the barbed wire matches I've seen consist of wrestlers attempting to use the barbed wire or using it for close to half the match. Very little action. I'd say they're the boringest matches personally.
