Dixie Carter was recently quoted about being open to doing a TNA ppv w/ the WWE, that got me thinking as to what matchups I'd want to see. In Japan they do cross promotion PPV style events alot and they usually do champion v champion, I don't know if I'd like that for TNA v WWE. WM29 had 8 matches w/ a bunch of crap segments so I figure I could squeeze 9 into one ppv. Here's how I would match them up.
Cena v AJ Styles
CM Punk v Austin Aries
Undertaker v Sting
Daniel Bryan v Kurt Angle
The Shield v Aces and Eights (Bully, Devon & Anderson)
Randy Orton v Bobby Roode
Dolph Ziggler v James Storm
Ryback v Samoa Joe
Sheamus v Matt Morgan
What would your matchups be?
What if WWE and TNA were to put on a joint PPV?

I like most of those matchups but I'd rather see
Ziggler vs. Styles
Cena vs. Roode
Orton vs. Storm
Ziggler vs. Styles
Cena vs. Roode
Orton vs. Storm
Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up, it's bobsled time!

Re: What if WWE and TNA were to put on a joint PPV?
It should be noted that of course she would be willing to do that. Its a little like the commissioner of the AFL saying they'd be willing to do cross-promotion with the NFL. Of course they would, but the NFL has no incentive to do so. Having said that, I'm always up for some fantasy booking so here I go. The one thing I'd say is that I'll avoid matchups that have already happened (Taker vs Sting being the sole exception as those two faced each other 25 years ago in WCW). Samoa Joe, Austin Aries and AJ all 3 have faced CM Punk and Bryan. I think the top 2 are no-brainers. While AJ has had a lot of ups and downs he's still the guy we associate with TNA more than anyone else and he'd face the unquestioned face of WWE Cena. And Sting vs Taker, I don't know who would possibly pick any other matchup for those two. Beyond that,
Kurt Angle vs Daniel Bryan: A lot of choices for Angle as Punk and Ziggler would both be great as well. I went with Bryan because I think stylistically is a bit of a better fit for Angle.
CM Punk vs Bobby Roode: The promos between these two would be really fun and there in-ring work would be very solid as well. I also think self-righteous straight edge CM Punk feuding with James Storm could be fantastic as well.
Aries vs Ziggler: I can just imagine the way Ziggler would sell the brainbuster. Similar personas except Aries has got a bit more sleaze to him which would make some fun interaction between Aries and AJ.
Randy Orton vs Samoa Joe: At there best, these two are the silent ass-kickers and I wouldn't expect great promo work but I would expect a match that may lack in high spots but one that would be technically marvelous.
James Storm vs Sheamus: The yin to the above match's yang. These two at there best are the jovial, ass-kickers.
Team Rhodes Scholars vs Bad Influence: The interaction between these two teams, primarily Daniels and Sandow would be off the wall.
I could probably add a couple more matches but I'm not a huge fan of too many other possible matchups.

Re: What if WWE and TNA were to put on a joint PPV?
Kurt Angle vs John Cena
Jeff Jarrett vs Christian
Bobby Roode vs Booker T
D'lo Brown vs Mark Henry
Anderson vs Undertaker
Sting vs Big Show
D-Von vs HHH
Honestly I'd love the obvious Sting vs Taker.
I agree on Bryan vs Angle also, I've thought of that one over the last couple years, I think they'd probably put on the best match in this scenario.
Ziggler vs Aries would probably be great too. I think Orton and Aries could put on a really good match also.
Kenny King vs Del Rio. There are numerous guys from WWE i'd like to see Kenny King work with, I hope he ends up there eventually. Any of the more athletic great workers could put on some good matches with him.
Magnus vs Orton. He's another guy I'd like to see work with many WWE guys, the more psychological ones. Regal, Kane, HHH. He could probably work good with Punk.
Roode vs Punk would probably be pretty sweet.
I'm trying to think of someone to match Brock against but I don't know who would put on a good match with him, same for Bad Influence.

I'm a little surprised Kenny King didn't end up in WWE as well a year ago when his ROH contract expired. For all I know they may have reached out to him as they way he joined TNA was a little sketchy. I think, if done properly, he could have one of the more compelling debuts in recent memory. Talking about him being on Tough Enough a decade ago and how the two winners of that season have long since retired but he spent the last decade honing his craft with the dream of making it back to the WWE.

Re: What if WWE and TNA were to put on a joint PPV?
Here's an interesting off-shot of this question and one that I think, unfortunately, is more likely is if TNA were to go out of business tomorrow who would be the 5 guys WWE would be most interested in. I think Sting and Kurt Angle would be 1 and 1A because they can make immediate money off of those two. Even if Sting can't wrestle they can still make money off of a DVD and he'd be a top HOF candidate. With Kurt, all of the same reasons plus you can still get a handful or so of money matches out of him with Bryan, Ziggler, Punk and maybe a couple others.
Beyond that though, I don't know who else it would be. Maybe the Dudleys because with a strong heel tag team (Shield) and another coming in (Wyatts) they could be a solid veteran face tag team. As strange as this may sound, a year ago I would've said Madison Rayne to this question but with her pregnancy I don't know how much of a career she'll have even after the pregnancy. Samoa Joe and Austin Aries perhaps because they're both tight with Punk. I think Bobby Roode and James Storm are probably the two they could see some potential in.
