30 years: What is your favorite WrestleMania matches

WrestleMania 30 is next Sunday, and it mark 30 years of WrestleMania.

I think it be great to create this thread that everyone can share what their personal favorite matches for all the WrestleManias, or most of the WrestleManias they have seen, and if you like you can tell why it's your favorite matches if not hey that is cool.

Since it's late where I live I am going to start some of mines and then post some more later on when I get the chance.

WrestleMania 1: Technically I do not have no favorite matches on there

WrestleMania 2: Same as above

WrestleMania 3: Ricky Steamboat Vs Macho Man Randy Savage for the IC Title such a classic match one of my all time favorites.

Hulk Hogan Vs Andre The Giant not because of the Wrestling match up it's more because of the build up/the feud/storyline that leads to this one big match that everyone wants to see. That why it's one of my favorites. In terms of wrestling meh but the buildup is what is one of my favorites

WrestleMania 4: Jake The Snake Roberts Vs Ravishing Rick Rude two good workers I enjoyed this match.

WrestleMania 5: Hulk Hogan Vs Macho Man Randy Savage the explode of the mega powers got to love how they build it up which the two lead up a match at the biggest pay per view of the year. I think this is one of Hogan best matches IMO the two put out a good match at WrestleMania 5 which is one of my favorites and of course back then I was a big Hogan fan when I was a kid lol.

Nice thread idea, I would need to go back and watch some again to do all the WMs, but here are a few

WM 10: Razor Ramon vs Shawn Michaels Ladder Match, this one probably doesn't need much explaining, one of my favorite Ladder matches ever.

WM 12: Michaels vs Bret Hart, really good iron man match on a pretty forgettable card otherwise, I did find the Hollywood Backlot Brawl entertaining also but no way was it better than the main event.

WM 13: Has to be Bret Hart vs Steve Austin, everything about this match is great. Well executed double turn and they did a great job telling a story in the ring. Also an honorable mention from this PPV would be Goldust vs HHH, loved that match also.

WM 14: Kane vs Undertaker, in my opinion this is the first good streak match. If I remember correctly it takes three tombstones and a chokeslam to keep Kane down, which might seem excessive, but I think it works here. The main event on this card is good also but I always find myself going back to watch this match more than any others on the card.

WM 15: This was pretty bad for a WM. I think that probably the best match on the card is Austin/Rock, but it's my least favorite Rock/Austin match and anytime I go back to this PPV it is for 1 of 2 reasons, either 1) to watch Butterbean knock out Bart Gunn and/or 2) to watch Undertaker hang Big Bossman.

It's too early in the morning to be thinking this hard so I'll leave it there for now.

Off the top of my head this is what I'd put in there...

Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat - WM3

One of the greatest matches of all time and what a build up with Savage hitting the Dragon with the ring bell and everything.

Hogan vs. Andre - WM3

Just the sheer significance of that moment even though Andre was fading fast at that point. It's probably the most iconic WM moment.

Warrior vs. Hogan - WM6

Sticks out just cause it was in Toronto and neither were great workers but put on a hell of a match, IMO.

WM4's Tournament for the title stood out big time in my opinion because I was a big Savage fan and he got his moment when everyone thought Hogan was going to win.

Other matches that stand out also without mentioning which WM they were are.

Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels in the Iron Man Match.

Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin in the double turn and the launching of Stone Cold Steve Austin.

WM 6: Hogan Vs Warrior the crowd was awesome, and the two who are the greatest wrestlers put up a hell of a match.

WM 7: Ultimate Warrior Vs Macho Man career ending match ----I like actually like this match it was my favorite how it builds up the storyline and I thought Warrior was doing pretty well with his match against Macho Man while I do think Macho make him look good. Plus at the ending which lead Macho Man turns face and reunited Miss Elizabeth have a nice touch.

Hogan Vs Sgt Slaughter the buildup is great both play their role perfectly with Sgt playing the evil commander(Ok not commander but you get what I'm saying ) while Hogan playing the hero who trying to stop Sgt Slaughter.

WM 8: Bret Hart Vs Roddy Piper for the IC title & Macho Man Randy Savage Vs Ric Flair two great matches I have enjoyed and my favorites

WM 9: I do not really have a favorite

WM 10: Bret/Owen two brothers and two great workers got to love how they build up the feud between the two brothers. I remember it was the opener of WrestleMania X and they put one hell of a match one of my favorites.

HBK Vs Razor Ramon IC Title in a ladder match no need for me to explain why

Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon in 1994 was my favorite. I've got Michaels vs. Bret Hart in the Iron Man match in 1996 as my 2nd.

WM 11: I have no favorite

WM 12: HBK Vs Bret Hart Iron man Match====I thought the Iron Man match was epic one of the best matches I have seen.

I am with Jr Lucosa I thought the backlot brawl was entertain too but no chance in hell it's better than the Main event.

WM 13: Bret Hart Vs StoneCold Steve Austin great match. The birth of StoneCold which got him turn one of the major face while Bret turns heel well starting of the turning point. Got to love the build up how they start the feud.

WM 14.: Have no favorites

WM 15: StoneCold Steve Austin (the last two Wrestlemania matches are better than the first one.) but I did enjoy this match, and my favorite.

WM 16: I thought this Wrestlemania suck but there are two favorites I have The Triple threat ladder match for the tag team titles between Edge & Chrsitian/Dudley Boys/Hardy Boys is my favorite, and Benoit Vs Kurt Angle Vs Jericho.

WM 17: IMO One of the best Wrestlemania I have seen. But my favorites are the following:
Benoit Vs Angle(The match could be a little big longer.)
Shane McMahon Vs Vince McMahon Street Fight
TLC Tag Team Titles Triple Threat E&C Vs Dudleys Vs Hardy Boys
And then The Rock Vs StoneCold II

WM 18: Undertaker Vs Ric Flair no holds barred that match was classic

Hollywood Hulk Hogan Vs The Rock----The Wrestling match was pretty good and the crowd just so into it was awesome! Only problem I have is this one should be the main event and the last match not the Undisputed Title Match.

Triple H Vs Chris Jericho for the Undisputed Title--------The match was very good and it is one of my favorites for this Wrestlemania. I do have a few problem though I feel that Jericho should have been a face, and Triple H been a heel I think it be much better it will be another way around, and I feel it isn't necessary to have Stephanie McMahon to be with Jericho. Plus as I say above this Undisputed Title match is very good match and it is one of my favorites but this shouldn't be the last match it should have been Hogan Vs The Rock.

WM 19: I think this Wrestlemania was also one of the best I think 19, 17, were the two best IMO. I got a few favorites.

HBK Vs Jericho no surprise two great workers can put up great match awesome match, and good ending having Jericho hug HBK and then take a cheap shot low blow him. I do think Jericho should be the one to put over though that is my only complaint there

Triple H Vs Booker T WWE Championship despite my disagreement having HHH retain the title I thought the match itself was pretty damn good .

Hogan Vs Vince McMahon----------Not the greatest Wrestling Match but it was entertain as hell it was a great brawl, and got to love the history around it how they build this up to finally lead a match. Plus dont' forget the surprise appearance of Roddy Piper!

The Rock Vs Stone Cold III-----------StoneCold's last match and this is the third final installment and they put up a hell of a match got to love The Rock playing as a heel as Hollywood Rock some sort back then.

Brock Lesner Vs Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship------------First meeting the two meet and it was awesome that WWE decide to put this match the last one. One of the best pure wrestling match I have seen I never forget this match and especially never forget that sick botch shooting star press that Brock Lesner put man he was a bad shape after that scary moment. Glad he was ok after that the match itself like I say one of the best pure wrestling match I have seen.

WM 20 A few favorites I have there some good matches there

Christian Vs Chris Jericho got to love how they build this up starting the bet of them hitting on Lita and Trish Stratus(More so on Trish.) This was a good wrestling match and got to love Trish heel turn man she was one of my favorite divas. Ok I'm distracted but anyways that match was good.

Eddie Guerrero Vs Kurt Angle WWE Championship on the line. Two great performer put on a hell of a show which was expected and did not disappointing welL I wasn't lol.

WWE Championship Triple Threat Triple H Vs HBK Vs Benoit what could I say about this match? This triple threat was epic, and aftermath I remember I got chills with Eddie coming in the ring hug Benoit finally won the big one. Kinda spooky now after I have that ending picture in my head now with the two are not with us anymore.

had they known the crowd was gonna react like that to hogan/rock, im sure it wouldve main evented. same goes for shawn/taker I.

i dont agree that hhh shouldve been the heel in that match though even if he is 100X better as a bad guy, the story was a comeback/redemption story.

and i love your mention of christian/jericho. that match is underrated, always kinda the bummed the crowds flat for it for some reason

WM 21: Kurt Angle Vs HBK I thought the match itself stole the show man great match one of my favorites.

Batista/Triple H was surprisingly good not great as HBK/Angle but it was good.

Worth Mention: Rey Vs Eddie wasn't to bad it could have been better, and a bit longer though

WM 22: This WM was pretty meh. But MITB was entertain but IMO the hardcore match between Edge and Mick Foley stole the show for that year WM. Now that is how you do a hardcore match.

WM 23: Money In The Bank
Benoit vs MVP IMO is pretty underrated that doesn't get mentioned very often, or at all. I enjoyed the two put their work on my only complaint is the match could be at least a few more minutes longer.

John Cena Vs HBK Awesome match I remember the time I was hoping HBK turn heel I know I should know better Anyways the match was pretty damn great. Rather love or hate Cena he can put on some good matches with the right people, and he shows that.

Worth Mention: Undertaker Vs Batista was pretty solid good spot with BAtista powerslam Taker on the announce table. I thought the match was entertain and good

WM 24: I thought this Wrestlemania was pretty entertaining I don't think it's the level of WrestleMania 17 and 19 which IMO is the two best Wrestlemania. But I thought WM 24 is entertained all around well almost. You got the brawl which was entertained, you got the MITB which was good, HBK Vs Flair which is one of my favorites was a classic match. Even Floyd Mayweather Vs Big Show was entertain and then Undertaker Vs Edge which was the last match Title vs streak was great.

I left some of the matches out which isn't worth mention but I mention above I was entertain if I have to pick one which is my favorite I wouldn't be able to make up my mind between Flair/HBK or Edge/Taker

WM 25: There are some entertainment matches on there.

Taker/HBK this one no need to explain this is the best match I have see. One of the ages, and my favorite.

While I do mention there are some entertainment matches a WM I list those matches:

Jeff Hardy Vs Matt Hardy Extreme Rules Match I am not much of a big fan of the two but I thought their match at WM 25 was good obvious not great as Taker/HBK but it was good. I did enjoy the two brothers going at it.

Money In The Bank

and Jericho against the legends basically Ricky Steamboat was showing "he still got it" that time I need to check out his match against Jericho at Backlash. I was entertain when Steamboat performing in the ring with his bad back and his age. It was awesome to see!

WM 26:

Money In The Bank

World Title Jericho Vs Edge no surprise two great workers put up good match

HBK Vs Undertaker once again they up a hell of a match and the stipulation with Career Vs Streak was such a great touch to add the importance to it.

Worth Mention: Cena Vs Batista wasn't to bad not the greatest but pretty solid

WM 27:
Undertaker Vs Triple H

WM 28:
Undertaker Vs Triple H Hell In The Cell with HBK as special guest referee

CM Punk Vs Chris Jericho got to love the build up, and the match they put together.

Worth Mention: Cena Vs The Rock their first meeting was surprisingly good I don't think it's good as the two matches I mention IMO but I thought the match itself was good.

WM 29:
Undertaker Vs CM Punk

And that is all we will see if I have any favorites for WM 30 later tonight or not

Rock vs. Hogan WM 18... I was there 5th Row after blowing all my birthday money at the time
to upgrade the tickets we already had on scalpers. I still have the chair that I got autographed
by Hogan this past August.

Like others have said the crowd noise on the DVD does not do the match justice. People stood on
their feet a lot of them on their chairs and screamed at the top of there lungs for 30 mins straight
some peoples ear drums were sore from the noise.

There was a girl from Michigan beside me who was a Rock fan and she was completely drowned
out by our row.

After the match I was sweating like mad and felt like I had just done 30 mins on the treadmill voice
was shot for 3 days. Literally had nothing for the womens match and HHH vs. Y2J match.

Vibe around the Dome after the show was over was that people felt they had witnessed one of if not
the greatest match of all time. Me and my friend got about 20 offers from strangers asking to buy
our chairs.

I'm a Warrior guy so loved his WM6 and WM7 matches. I thought both were well done. I liked Hogan/Savage at WM5. Taker's matches the past few years were pretty good with HHH, HBK, Punk.
