Third degree murder of a girlfriend 32 years ago. Man this has gotta be the ugliest summer for wrestling (outside the ring) ever. Just keeps getting worse. What's next? Sting gets nailed with child porn? :banghead:

It's about time. From what I recall, it's been a pretty horribly kept secret in the world of pro wrestling that he killed her. Can't believe he's just now being charged.

Maybe, maybe not, but probably. Before they started the BAD angle, they could have released her and no one would have batted an eyelash about it because she's one of the most expendable talents on the roster. Now if they release her it's going to be obvious as to why they're doing so, and not just because she's not worthy of holding a roster spot.

I don't think she will. She's an afterthought in this angle so I don't know how they can diminish her further and releasing someone because of something her dad did 32 years ago is absurd.

FWIW, WWE hasn't removed Snuka from their hall of fame page like they did with Hogan.

Yeah, hopefully this is an opportunity for him to be exonerated and finally put this behind him. I met him at a convention probably 15 years ago and was impressed by how mild-mannered and soft-spoken he was compared to his peers.

IF he didn't do it then sure, put it behind him and clear his name once and for all, but it certainly doesn't scream innocence when the story won't go away after 32 years. If he was truly innocent I would think they could have put this to bed many years ago.

My big question is if Vince McMahon (or someone else higher up in the business) will be dragged through the mud for supporting him. I mean they were still employing him for spot appearances off and on as recent as a few years ago. Hell he was in a match at Mania 25 and was a surprise entrant in the 2008 Royal Rumble. Or in an even crazier twist if it will be revealed in any way that someone with some power helped to cover anything up all those years ago.

My fault - I was agreeing that it's amazing he's just now being charged for something that's been talked about for decades.

I've heard that this might be the case and not just somebody with power. Granted, I think I read this story a decade ago somewhere deep in the recesses of the internet, so not exactly an infallible source. But the story that was put forth was that the police brought in Snuka for questioning and he went gimmick on them acting like he didn't know how to speak. Vince came in to the station shortly thereafter and spoke to the officers and Snuka was soon released. It wasn't explicitly stated, but the implication was that Vince paid them off.

Phil mushnick (whose been active in this case) wrote in one of his books that Vince kayfabed police to get snuka to the next town when it happened, saying snuka was an island idiot like his gimmick

Yeah agree. Its been hanging out there for years and pretty obvious he did it. It sounds like he is in terrible shape (stomach cancer) so he wouldn't really go to jail anyway as he'd have to be in a hospital.

I think the interesting part is what part, if any, Vince played back in the day of getting Superfly off the hook. He maybe had nothing to do with it at all but there is speculation (as always in wrestling, lol).
