Top 10 Favorite Wrestlers

Post#1 » by bestnamezRtaken » Mon Apr 29, 2019 6:04 pm

I know we talk about who we think are the top 10 wrestlers of all time and it's always incredibly hard to really narrow down who those 10 wrestlers are, mainly because we've never worked out a criteria on how wrestlers should be judged. But I'm not looking for top 10 of all time. I'm looking for, who are YOUR top 10 favorite wrestlers of all time. Whether it's in perfect order or 10 wrestlers you love but can't organize. I had made my list back in 2016 and looking back at it now, it's definitely changed. That's what's funny about making a list of your favorite things...your opinion will most certainly change.

Tell why you like that specific wrestler if you want, or be boring and just post a list. Don't matter to me. I thought this would be fun to try and get this forum going again. :)
Kobe Bryant was asked who he feels is the toughest opponent to guard in the NBA. Instead of picking OKC's Kevin Durant, Bryant went with Portland’s Brandon Roy.

"Roy 365 days, seven days a week. Roy has no weaknesses in his game."

This is going to be off the top of my head so I reserve the right to change it later. I'm also among the more casual fans here so don't expect anyone even remotely obscure, lol. And they'll all be WWE because that's all I ever watched.

- the Rock. No one was more entertaining to me.
- Eddie Guerrero. He was probably closest.
- Edge. Never reached the level of stardom that others did, but could play face, monster heel and comedy heel all with great adeptness. Could go in the ring, too.
- Chris Jericho. Another total package.
- Bret Hart. Yes, there are a lot of Canadians on my list. No shame in my game.
- Triple H. Sure, the ego got pretty massive, but peak Triple H is one of the best heels I've ever seen. Ever.
- The Strikeforce. Okay this one goes back a while, but when I was a kid I loved watching Tito Santana and Rick Martell. Don't ask me why.
- The Blue Blazer :( Another one I loved as a kid.
- The Brooklyn Brawler. I mean come on.

And I don't even know how to rank this: possibly my favourite guy to ever actually watch in the ring, before it all went so, so, so wrong, was Chris Benoit :( :(

You'll probably laugh at my list (off the top of my head)
If you looked cool and/or cut good promos and had an amazing entrance with awesome spooky theme music you'll always grab my attention.

Having good ring ability was just a bonus but really meant very little for me.

1) Goldberg
2) The Rock 2A) Sting
3) Rick Flair
4) Bret Hart
5) The Undertaker
6) Austin
7) Sycho Sid
8) Papa Shango
9) Santino Marella
10) Gangrel

Keep in mind i really don't watch much these days so that's why you see bunch of oldies.

I'd have to really think about an all time list but for today:

In no particular order:
Hiromu Takahashi, Tetsuya Naito, Kazuchika Okada (ridiculous over the top booking aside), Braun Strowman, SANADA, Johnny Gargano, Pentagon Jr, Matt Riddle, Velveteen Dream, Katsuo Nakajima

For me:

1. Sting - was the highlight of the Monday night wars IMO. The transformation to the Crow gimmick was great
2. Ric Flair - when you factor in in ring skills and mic skills, quite possibility the GOAT
3. AJ Styles - more so TNA AJ as he was an instant classic and a guy easy to cheer for
4. The Miz - the guy busted his butt to get to where he is, is money on the mic, and just seems like a really chill person
5. Goldberg - the streak and when he beat Hogan for the title, oh the memories
6. Kurt Angle - probably 2nd to Flair in terms of excelling in both ring and mic skills
7. Brock Lesnar - when he is motivated, the guy is truly a beast
8. Undertaker - not much needs to be said here
9. Raven - the WCW version, the flock was awesome, so it is written, and so it must come to pass
10. Teri Runnels - of all the divas/women, damn I wanted her so bad

1. Bob Backlund - he was it when I started watching pro rasslin
2. Mil Masceras
3. Rick Flair
4. Shawn Michaels
5. AJ Styles
6. Eddie Guerrero and Art Barr
7. Roddy Piper
8. Dean Malenko
9. Chris Jericho
10. Steiner Brothers

I've had four "favorite wrestlers" in my life. I'd say that are:

4. Kurt Angle
3. Razor Ramon
2. Steve Austin
1. Daniel Bryan

Other wrestlers that I would consider favorites, but not the favorite at any given time are:
AJ Styles
Ric Flair
Shawn Michaels
JBL
Chris Jericho
Kairi Sane!
