According to "multiple sources ", DB and Punk are both done deals. Wow. Ratings are about to be very, very interesting between AEW and WWE.

Super exciting if true. The Bryan signing seems confirmed, but for the Punk signing — it’s kind of like I’ll believe it when I see it.

Some fans are saying AEW is the new WCW (kind of as a hit to AEW, not a compliment — with the sentiment being that they’re hiring too many WWE guys). I think the influx of meaningful, game-changing talent, always makes sense regardless of where they’re coming from. It’s gearing up as more of a legitimate alternative to WWE than ever.

I saw that as well this morning and called some people out on that logic it really is absolutely ridiculous
and even back then when they said it about WCW. Literally makes no sense why some people even think
like that.

Agree. Talented wrestlers have to come from somewhere, very few are "homegrown". It'd be like refusing to sign a free agent in pro sports simply because they previously played for a different team.

My first reaction was kinda "she's not already?" as well .

Would you all prefer them debuting singles or together or with a stable? Christian hasn't been so hot lately so I don't know

Omega being referenced to being best wrestler in the world kind of sets Punk in there if they acknowledge his run with that gimmick. Wish they'd tag though, get the rust off of Phil and have Bryan also fresh by not getting over exposed in matches

Think I'd rather singles, but I'm not sure where they go w/ it. This angle for Punk makes sense but I feel like he ends up losing to Hangman which changes it.

I've been trying to find it all morning but there was an interview with both DB and Punk where I remember them saying that teaming with one another vs The Wyatts & Shield was the best time they've had in the WWE. Because of that, I could see AEW debuting them together to go at some other group.

Definitely an interesting time. Think AEW is great as is, but I can see how more star power would be enticing. DB for sure, I'd be wary of Punk. He is what his name says he is by all accounts I;ve heard and read about.

I would think yes- this was a not a WWE song and WWE had to license it.

I am assuming (and this is an assumption) that AEW can license it as well.

It is important to note that UFC licensed it for his fight.

My read on the situation right now is someone jumped the gun and Punk is letting negotiations go down to the wire. Smart man. Let it leak that he’s signing with AEW so vince ups his offer and vice versa.

Coming back to this now after reading a little bit more about his early career and some things I didn't know.

Obviously still not a sure thing this even happens, but if he signs, having him potentially act as a distraction for Hangman winning the title and ending up in a tag team with Colt Cabana to face the Young Bucks would be interesting. Hard to see him joining a stable but it would be an interesting storyline imo.

Oh I actually meant him helping Page (maybe joining Dark Order?), but that's another idea too.

Really a lot of ways they could go with this. Could also be something they play with wrt the straight edge character and Page.

I'm planning on buying a PPV with all this going on, if it doesn't happen it feels like they might start a riot . And if he went with the Dark Order, AFI makes some sense for music too.

I'm typing this and realizing as an adult I'm such a nerd too lol.

Now that I think about it, Punk/DB arriving as a team could be fun. They could be the guys to shut the Young Bucks up and the matches would be insanely good
