A DARK MATCH?!?!?!?! WTF?

Seriously, though, I'm guessing they'll air it the following week on NXT. The NXT after a Takeover almost always has a dark match from the actual Takeover.

Killswitch Engage is recording a new theme for a WWE superstar. I wonder if it's Strong since his current theme sounds similar to End of Heartache, which is also the name of his finisher.

Who dis?

Axel Dieter Jr? Donovan Dijak? Shayna Baszler (it's a male silhouette but she has the Queen of Spades nickname)?

I don't think it's a male silhouette. Just looks that way because Shayna has a mannish figure. Definitely Baszler given the spades in the text.

Highly recommend this week's episode of NXT. Ohno vs Gargano was fantastic.

It makes me sad that Cesaro is stuck in the tag division with a partner that isn't Ohno.

Sheamus/Cesaro have been awesome together, though.

Great fatal 4-way tonight, very surprised that Black ate the pin and Gargano won it. The upcoming ppv should be very good.

Catching up on NXT. Man, it just makes me so sad that we can watch a match like Bate/Dunne III on a generic episode of NXT and it's just so easily better than any Raw match from like the past five years. It'd be one thing if NXT's talent was just far and away better than the main roster, but the main roster has a good chunk of the best wrestlers in the entire world and they barely ever even come close to this kind of match quality. Hell, it's rare for the main roster to have a match this good on PPV.

Was just thinking...has NXT ever manufactured an indie guy into a star the way they've done with Aleister Black? Most of their former champs were top guys in ROH, NJPW, or TNA.

I guess you could say Almas, but Almas didn't get gifted an undefeated streak. He had to suffer some lumps, get a manager, and then was given the title after turning his NXT career around, presumably due to right place, right time, as I think Drew was scheduled to be called up prior to getting hurt.

Black, meanwhile, came in as a solid indie guy but no one really thought he was amazing. He was one of those "good signing" guys, but nothing special. A year or so later, and he's one of the hottest commodities in NXT, undefeated in singles action, just put on one of the best matches of the year against Dream in NXT, and is a lock for NXT champion at some point.

Kind of crazy for a guy who came in with just moderate hype, and lost his first WWE match against Neville, although that was under a different name.

I remember a ton of hype for "Tommy End" when he was rumored to be on his way. I remember it very well because I had never heard of him. Turns out ICW is a pretty big deal.

I mean, there was some hype, but it wasn't on the level of guys like Owens, Nakamura, Roode, etc.

yeah he was mainly a thing in the UK (I remember him mainly in ICW when he was tagging with Dante) and the continent (mainly Germany i think).

He didn't really have a reputation in America, Japan or Mexico

Tommy End/Black seems like one of those guys that WWE signed at the exact right time. If he hadn't signed with WWE, he was probably poised to become a superstar on the Indy circuit working NJPW and ROH and others. So they signed him right before he became a "Indy guy"

Velveteen Dream is going to be the face of a company one day. If not the WWE, definitely somewhere else. He is fantastic.

He's great but unless he does a 180 character wise there's no chance.

I think it's pretty obvious that he won't keep that gimmick around much longer.
