Yeah outside of the fantastic promo war between Ruby and Britt this was the worst episode of Rampage
to date and I lost interest during the main event and started browsing Real GM. Kind of had that throw away
2000's Smackdown "B" show feel to it where catering gets emptied out and you see a bunch of pointless
TV filler stuff.

Things should pick up next week at the Tennis Stadium I'm hoping

AEW Rampage viewership dipped yet again last week. 640K or thereabout for the show. It’s not surprising, they kind of throw so-so shows out there, and while it doesn’t have a “B” Show feel, per se, it certainly doesn’t give the impression of a show that’s throwing out their big guns either.

Starks is apparently replacing Henry on commentary full time, which I’m indifferent to for the most part. Henry wasn’t knocking it out the park exactly. That booth is jam packed at this point though — I’m fine with a 2 or 3 man booth, but it’s getting BUSY with 4 guys there.

I don’t think they should be resting on their laurels, throwing out shows that have questionable talent/matches headlining them.

Very cool but would have preferred Vince make it right with Owen's family.

That won't happen now which means Owen's entire career gets boxed up and stored beside Chris Benoit's, never (or rarely) to be seen and appreciated.

As someone who watched both for a very long time that's a huge loss for any fan of the business and every wrestler who ever laced up a pair of boots

I mean his company's negligence killed Owen. I don't blame Martha for being steadfast in never doing business with Vince. He can't possibly "make it right" and sorry after he went on with the show that night she shouldn't even take his calls.

Danielson/Omega was fun from what I saw. Watching on DVR, and know the winner but seeing the contrast in reaction to Cody vs. Black is funny to me. Black presented this way and being cheered so hard by everyone (myself included, he's one of my favorites).

It can never be fully right though

Nothing they ever do can bring Owen back.

I actually did hope that one day Vince and WWE could have done whatever to make sure everyone got to celebrate Owen and his career.

From all reports he was a glorious human being, not only a exceptional wrestler or entertainer.

We will never see Owen get the documentary he deserves, the career retrospective DVD, his greatest matches and segments etc

It's a **** situation all round

The Bryan Omega match was very, very good. Can’t complain about the match at all. The ending though? Hmm. I’m all on board for a time limit draw — but thought there should’ve been more urgency toward the end of the match with time winding down. Bryan didn’t start to get the lock in until AFTER the bell rang — thought that could’ve/should’ve been the finishing sequence (like just as he’s locking it in the bell rings). But won’t nitpick/complain about this incredible match.

Punk segment was cool. Good promo, of course. Almost seemed like the fans weren’t with him throughout the whole thing. Felt like he normally has them in the palm of his hands but they were kind of in and out.

Sting looked fantastic. Moved well, looked good, and it’s remarkable at his age.

That main event match fell flat. Ruby doesn’t have any business being in that position — that much is clear. Not knocking her, she has her own following and adds to the division but the match was slow, and clunky and sloppy, and Ruby looks out of place in that position — headlining their biggest show to date.

Saw a clip with Punk delivering an elbow drop and he's wearing his old gear. Didn't think Rampage will be recorded this early

That Omega/Danielson match was superb. My only small gripe is I didn’t like the announce team acknowledging the time left inside of a minute. It would’ve been a better touch to have them lost in the match like the rest of the audience and then have the bell ring out of nowhere. I do actually like the time limit draw finish. It’s fine for television and makes their next matchup mean that much more.

I’ve been waiting to see this from Omega. I’m way more into a paced out storytelling style match. I’m not saying Omega’s Japan stuff isn’t amazing in its own way. Just not into the overly choreographed, high spot stuffed matches. There’s a time and place for picking up the pace but not for long matches. Omega when paired with the right guy is as good as advertised and Bryan is one of those guys. I am hoping once he drops the title that he breaks away from the Elite as he doesn’t need them and really, guys like Callis, good Bros, etc. kind of bring him down a notch or two. Let Cole lead those guys for awhile or really I’m fine with disbanding them altogether.

Punk’s promo was good, but I’m really not amped up to see him wrestle Taz’s guys. Maybe it was Punk’s idea but this being his second match, it feels to me like he’s leveling down. Not sure that’s a good idea given his current momentum trending up.

ETA: the crowd was trying really hard to get themselves over by starting numerous chants during Punk’s promo and he was having none of it. Good for him.

Felt bad for Arn slipping off the apron right before the dusty finish. Took away from it a bit.

The main event was fine for a standard television episode but for something that feels bigger, it was flat. I don’t blame Ruby. She’s as polished of a worker as youll find. Britt has a great persona and look but she’s just not a good in ring worker at this point. She’s still pretty green so I’m sure that aspect will catch up with the rest.

All in all, a fun episode and that’s all I ask for really. Wrestling should be fun.

Anyone else feeling the "avalanche" moves are getting too common or tonight was just one of those nights due to the title bouts?

I think some of the matches devolve into spot tests a little too often in general there. There was a Guevarra-Spears match around a month back that was over the top with the avalanche moves and subsequent kick outs.

Off the top of my head, I only remember the two from last night’s Omega/Bryan match. So it didn’t stick out to me last night.

I thought the Soho match was awful. That's 2 straight matches that Soho has had with the company and they've been terrible. I'm sure she's a great person but oof.

Okay so some great cross promotion from NBA to AEW. So some years back the little Mavericks wasted a 2nd round pick on a guy named Satnam Singh because they were making a documentary on him being the first Indian player to possibly be in the NBA and they thought it would make a perfect ending. Pretty sure a company of Cuban's was involved in the production and/or distribution.

Anyway, he just signed with AEW. Huge man.

Soho is definitely a very good worker, she has years of proof of that. Her issue, along with Baker's, is that they aren't good enough to elevate or carry the person across from them.

Pretty good AEW news day for me.

Spoiler:
Bray Wyatt could possibly debut next week in Rochester, New York. Malakai Black could also be getting his own group that includes Brody King

First one has been swirling for months now. The second though! Fits like a glove.

Speak of, when Daniels teased the return of the Fallen Angel, thought that's a perfect storyline right there to feud against for the latter.
