I never really liked Flair as a kid, but it wasn't because he wasn't any good at his job. When he was huge back in the 80's/early 90's I was still a pre-teen and I subscribed to the root for the good guy motif. I never appreciated his greatness until well past his prime.

I dunno I don't really consider those botches per se, there isn't anything fake about a table giving under all that weight, it adds to the realism, if you suspend disbelief and consider it a real fight it is a plausible scenario, IMO a botch is where the choreography becomes apparent and it forces you to discontinue your suspension of disbelief, of course smarks will say it's anything that doesn't go "according to plan" but I don't think that's fair
