Yeah, I caught that on his podcast. Hilarious.

What a **** mark.

The last few years have not been kind to my opinion of CM Punk.

Seems like he has a huge ego that he doesn't want to let go.
Kobe Bryant was asked who he feels is the toughest opponent to guard in the NBA. Instead of picking OKC's Kevin Durant, Bryant went with Portland’s Brandon Roy.

"Roy 365 days, seven days a week. Roy has no weaknesses in his game."

That seems to be the overwhelming opinion of a lot of fans and wrestlers alike. Punk has dug himself a pretty big hole.

I pretty much missed his entire run, as I stopped watching wrestling around 2003 or so and didn't start watching again until whenever Kevin Owens debuted in NXT, which was the first NXT show I watched and the reason I got back into wrestling. So I never really had any particular love for him like a lot of people did.

Punk would still be the best act in the company by far. Had that presence you can't teach both in the ring and on the mic. I mean, he was so good that Paul Heyman's role with him was to stand behind him and hold up the belt.

That's right, but when you have tensions with HHH, all his skills in means saddly nothing in the company.

HHH should put his fragile ego to the side (i mean Vince, who has a massive ego, swallowed his pride to bring guys back because it was a good money decision). They could easily still have Punk main event Mania and it would make sense.

He probably had issues with Triple H because he's a arrogant douche.

Not at anytime in his career. At least with Punk we didn't get the reign of terror.

Apparently, WWE got outdrawn by Progress of all people. Not that it means that much since this was a house show vs an actual PPV but London used to have massive crowds (15k), now they drew less than 4.5k, that is really bad.

Triple H: responsible for NXT, MYC, CWC, NXT UK; seen as a mentor by every nxt class.
CM Punk: responsible for an embarrassment of an MMA career and repelling every friend he ever had; seen as a joke by Chris Jericho and Cody Rhodes.

Yea I'm not really sure why CM Punk is revered as some sort of god amongst men when it comes to wrestling. He was fine, good even, but he isn't some massive headlining talent heads and shoulders above the rest of the roster. Best talent in the company by far? Please. The talent is already so steep that we spend countless hours bitching about the guys who aren't getting pushes. I don't think there's even a place for an egomaniac like Punk right now.

I think it mostly stems from him working WWE during an era when WWE was pretty godawful. He was one of the few legit workers in a sea of trash.

He's a scum bag, plain and simple. Doesn't care about friends at all, just ruined his reputation, burned nearly every bridge he had by throwing everyone else under the bus.

I will say though, that his injury that went undiagnosed that could have been life threatening...was pretty serious. Clearly that's the reason he burned all of his bridges. But the business is much different now, the health and well being of the wrestlers are very closely monitored now, if there is even a hint of concussion, they jump on it. I don't think we'll ever see Punk in a ring again, certainly not ever a WWE ring. Which I'm okay with.

Without Punk, the iwc wouldn't be able to jerk it to Bryan's Mania run, all the indie guys signed to nxt, styles, etc. fwiw, I think Haitch learned a lot from his mistakes when it came to Punk. He put personal feelings ahead of business. You can be a hater of punk's personal life all you want, but to say if he came back he wouldn't be the biggest star in the company is being 100% disingenuous and a mark.

I mean, I didn't say that at all about him coming back. I just said he'd never return to a WWE ring, and if he did, it'd be very different. Especially with all of the bridges he's burned in the locker room, wrestlers aren't going to take that sh*t laying down if he just suddenly was boosted to the top and given a title. All I said is I don't think he'll ever return to WWE and I'm okay with that. I have 0 attachment to the guy, I don't hold him to this f*cking gold standard like 95% of hardcore fan boys do. WWE is better off without him in my opinion. And perhaps he's better off without WWE. But one of Vince's motto's is....Never say never.

Also....just say HHH or Triple H....I was trying to figure out what you meant and realized you were talking about him, hahahaha.

With the way his NFL career is going, I'd give Rob Gronkowski 2 years before he's in WWE

I mean, Triple H has repaired many burnt bridges in the past, like his issues with the New Age Outlaws that have clearly been resolved now.

Punk just seems different, though, and I can't imagine Vince wants him back either.

And I just think that if he did return to wrestling he'd do it with New Japan or Ring of Honor or something just to shove it in WWE's face.
