Spoiler:
Don't know if this will be the best Takeover special they've had, it is however probably the best card they've ever had.

Joe vs Balor, Zayn vs Nakamura, I assume Aries vs Corbin, Asuka vs Bayley and Dash and Dawson vs Gable and Jordan.

Also, Apollo Crews and Enzo and Cass weren't on the most recent set of tapings, I wonder if that's because they plan on bringing them up to the main roster in the next few weeks.

Enzo and Cass on the main roster would be great. The promos between them and New Day would be gold.

Spoiler:
That is a very good takeover card, could see it being Zayn's, Bayley's & Joe's last takeover also. Wonder how they debut the balor club, especially if Itami really isn't coming back anytime soon

yeah, these two teams would be the tag team division, and all they'd need until american alpha comes up (shame they never won the NXT tag titles though)

As great as New Day is, for me the act was at its peak several months ago when they were feuding with Kidd and Cesaro. Some of that is that they were having great matches. But also because they were doing some fun things with insert promos and the like with Kidd and Cesaro cutting promos mocking New Day and I think having that person on the outside to counteract Xavier was a really nice hidden benefit. Since then, they really haven't given PTP or The Dudley's (this one was baffling to me) or the Uso's or Lucha Dragons anything approaching the amount of mic time New Day gets.

Enzo and Cass won't have the matches Kidd and Cesaro will. But they should certainly be competing with New Day on the mic and having Carmella on the outside to counteract Xavier, they can do some fun stuff with that.

certainly but even if they are past their peak they are miles better than anyone in the division. The Uso's are probably the most boring act in the WWE (which is something) plus are generally bad/annoying on the mic (both of them) and the Lucha Dragons i would think are broken up with Kalisto's push (which is good because Kalisto deserves that push)

the only team that could probably give them a run for their money is maybe the Prime Time Players once Titus comes back and they give them some major time on the mic and let them do their thing (when they where making fun of every tag team there is, have them do that to the Uso's, Ascencion, Lucha Dragons, Enzo + Cass etc, Social Outcasts etc)

Make the Dudley's serious again, get Bubba on the mic, and change their theme to either bombshell or whatever they used in ECW

Also more Wyatt family (Rowan and Harper), once The New Day drop the titles to Zo & Cass (assuming they do), have them feud with the Wyatt family who could be a monster heel group

either way the tag team division needs a reshuffle. The New Day are the only real threat and compelling team in it right now

Watching an episode of NXT from just over 2 years ago. Kofi Kingston jobbing to Alexsander Rusev just about made me ill. Thank god Kofi's career got resurrected with The New Day. In-ring sing off between Colin Cassady and Aiden English, hosted by Renee Young was rough around the edges but fairly entertaining. Also a match between Breeze and Mason Ryan. Mason Ryan was so damn bad. He no sold everything but Breeze's finisher. Breeze was still really raw too, at least in comparison to his current work.

Main event coming up is Sami vs. Leo Kruger in a 2 out of 3 falls match

I didn't do a great job of articulating my point which was that the reason I thought New Day was at its peak several months ago was because Kidd and Cesaro were the best opponents they've had, in the ring and on the mic. And now New Day just does what they're going to do but they haven't had a really strong foil since Kidd and Cesaro. And I think Enzo and Cass, maybe not in the ring, but certainly on the mic can be that foil.

The main roster tag division should be getting a "Divas Revolution" like influx of talent soon. Between Enzo & Cass, Blake & Murphy and I can't imagine Gallows & Anderson will be in NXT for long, New Day should have some quality feuds shortly.

ahh ok, yeah they need a much better foil and Enzo and Cass are probably the ones to do it. Maybe both teams aren't going to be giving 5 star matches (Big E and Kofi are solid workers, and Cass ain't bad, enzo though.....) but they will deliver on the promo department, which will be the main draw in this feud

Gonna try and start watchin this show more consistently leading up to takeover

Crowd was completely dead, even Sami's entrance hardly got anything. I know they film 4 of these things at a time, maybe it was the last one.

The drifter guy kinda looked like macho man w/o his glasses walkin to ring, a little like Sandow/Rollins too. Really liked his neck breaker.

Corbin has Hank Hill butt. I keep wondering if his pants will just slip off. Kahli had the same problem.

Triple threat was ok, I expected a little better. It turned into a series of 1 on 1 battles til the end and I hate those type of triple threat matches. The company seems to almost always do em like that

They've had plenty of opportunities to re-invigorate the tag team division, a few years ago there was a solid number of teams and then they dropped it. They don't seem to care enough and I don't understand it at all.

You have an opportunity get more guys involved and some of the greatest individual feuds have come from tag-teams breaking up but you have to invest in the teams developing for years. Instead they'll throw a team together and rush the break-up as soon as the team gets hot looking for the payoff. So frustrating.

Almost every team that has gotten hot in recent memory has suffered from this thinking by the front office.

Pulled the trigger on a couple of tickets to see NXT live in Indy this Saturday. Paid $69.99/ticket for tickets with $75 face value. They're row F, which is considered "ringside" apparently.

Agreed. At least with the expected call ups we'll get a couple months of good-great tag matches and programs with New Day.

It's crazy to me how many guys they've got in the back who never appear on Raw/Smackdown and they can't find a few pairs of them that work well enough together to form some new tag teams. The Usos bore the hell out of me and the Dudleys' chance to go on one last title run has passed (if it was going to happen, it needed to happen early in their New Day feud). The New Day are the only good team in the division right now.

I'm just sad that they'll inevitably break up Gable & Jordan before they really have a chance to do anything. Those guys could tag together for a couple of years and help legitimize the tag division.

I'd also like to see Owens and Zayn tag team again. I know they've never done it in the WWE, but it would be great to bring that back, especially if they're not going to do anything with Owens as a singles guy right now. They can always break them up later down the road and go back to the Zayn/Owens feud. That feud will be money whenever it happens. Zayn & Owens as faces versus the New Day would be a great feud, though, and going after the tag titles would be in line with Owens' motivations. A title is a title.

I don't recall if it has been discussed here or not, but I'll just say that I have absolutely zero interest in Nia Jax as a pro wrestler. Nothing about her is interesting to me and honestly she's so green that she shouldn't even be on NXT tv at this point. They're pushing her along because she's this giant for the division but she's just not good at anything. Everything about her character is terrible to me. I never thought I'd say this, but Eva Marie is the most interesting part of that equation.

Another character I absolutely can't stand is Alex Riley. Why he keeps getting chance after chance is beyond me. It was well established that he just wasn't very good in the ring. Then he got on commentary and he was pretty bad at that too. Then on top of not being good at his jobs he got exposed as being a really corny dude by Owens. I just don't get why he keeps getting chances. At best he has a decent look, but his positives are far outweighed by his negatives. Also, what the hell is the deal with his ring gear? Shooters with kick pads that are supposed to look like regular black wrestling boots? Wear some damn boots you jack ass. I'm sure he would have fit in really well with your Shawn Staysiak's of the world back in the early 2000's.

Alright, I'm done complaining. Just watching last week's episode of NXT and noticing some pretty horrible segments in a 1 hour show. I have to keep reminding myself that this is supposed to be developmental.

On the positive side, I loved Enzo's intensity in that promo back stage. It made me feel like they might actually be in line for a title reign finally. Seemed a lot more aggressive and less "entertaining". The Hype Bros promo was also gold. That's the most entertaining Mojo Rawley has ever been and the most entertaining Zack Ryder has been in a LONG time. "Bro, I watch you sleep." had me rolling.

One funny thing, very nice of Triple H to let the John Skyler kid borrow a pair of his wrestling trunks.

Corey Graves is the best guy they have in the company on commentary, and it's not even close.

I hear what you're saying about A-Ri, but I kinda pull for the guy. Maybe it's because he grew up just a few miles from me, but I thought he had a good underdog thing going for him against Owens. He might just need more seasoning and hard work - or he might just not have "it". Miz made it, so he's got a chance if he works hard.

I have to say, last week was the first time I'd ever seen Riley and while the in-ring was adequate at best, the promo he cut afterwards was pretty damn good and kinda made me give a **** about him.
