Feel free to poke holes into this "booking" if you wish but i'm all for this Cody/MJF feud lasting well beyond Revolution. I want Cody to lose clean after a nice back and forth matchup for him to head into this dark place of doubt. He doesn't even want the rematch with MJF because he doesn't think he can beat him.

MJF goes on to prove that he is the future of wrestling with more big wins over quality comp, coming out on top in some nice feuds. Making it to the top of the card while this is happening he is gradually going under on investments, money is getting low, his help is abandoning him because he can't pay them, but he's still finding ways to win less heelish than before. all this timing up to the point of him getting his title shot and he can't make the show because everything is gone, no more financial backing, his investments tank, he legit losses everything, disappears for a while from television which can be covered by the announce team.

in the meantime Cody from the MJF loss says he needs to rebuild from the ground up. even in that he's losing more than usual, Dustin can't get to him, Brandi is loss for words, he turns on Arn and blames his "coaching" as the reason he's losing so much. has sunken into a dark place, he's no help to the Elite during this war with Dark Order, disappears for a bit and when he returns he turns it around with heel tactics, starts winning and climbing back up the cards, ends up one of if not the top heel in the company because he has "the stroke" to get there. He's flashier, cockier, more arrogant and back on top of the world all of his own doing. while MJF is off television.

MJF comes back and abandons "Kayfabe" talks about everything he's lost how bad it has been he's humbled by it all and in the end all he wanted to do was what he loved the most and that's wrestle. So he's back and he's begging for the forgiveness of "the boys" and just wants a fair shake and a chance to get back to what he loves. Obviously he's starting from the bottom because he's been out the rankings. As he climbs the card more and more info comes out about what he's been through financially and personally. He completes the face turn that he was working on prior to leaving.

you guys see where this is going by now. Cody is the reason for all the behind the scenes stuff that has happened as retribution for the things MJF put him through before. Cody exposes all of this after time stating why he did it. Cody being the top heel and with a legit reason for these actions MJF is the new babyface with a really heelish past. They could even split sides with the announcers on who is right or wrong with this matter. Fans can be torn culminating into a steel cage or ironman or some sort of grueling match between the two to finally end that feud.

Austin Aries spotted at the building tonight. Dammit.

A properly used/pushed Aries definitely gets me to watch their show.

I don’t think I ever want to see Cody as a heel, just look at this post show speech, he’s one the best faces in wrestling. At his age and given position in the company, I don’t think it’s unreasonable for him to be a face for the rest of his career.

So I said the episode 2 weeks ago was one of the best episodes I’ve seen, but this Atlanta show was just as good, if not better. AEW has hit its stride lately.

There were no nba games, and the leafs weren’t playing, so this was the first time I able to watch dynamite live and I was worried the two hours would feel like a drag, but this show was a breeze, I even want to re watch it again.

My full thoughts:

- The night was filled with great matches, the opener set the tone. I wish Jack Evans had a longer run but can’t complain at an entertaining spot. I like the concept of both members having to be eliminated, it gave every team a chance to shine.

Not sure if anyone watches BTE, but they had a great bit with Page telling all the teams about some weaknesses to capitalize on against the Bucks, I wish they incorporated that into the match. I have a feeling people are going to complain about Matt Jackson putting himself over but it’s the right call for the storyline, I thought I wouldn’t be as interested in this match since it’s been done, but they continue to tell a different story, so I’m all for it. Even more interested in who goes over now.

- Sammy Guevara is one of the best at selling. That spot was vicious.

- Statlander is growing on me, same with Baker in her heel role, I love that coffee cup gift. Nyla Rose promo was good, really glad the AEW crowd didn’t continue with the “what” chants, this isn’t the company for that nonsense. Nyla’s “I break bitches” line killed those chants nicely too. This was a win for me.

- I’m glad they had tazz on commentary for the Cobb match because this is who Cobb reminds me off after my first time watching him. One eyed moxley had to win this way, anything else would’ve been silly. Post fight brawl led to a big pop for Darby, crowd was amazing tonight. Really put him over... Him and moxley make for an interesting tag team.

- Initially wasn’t hyped for this match because I felt like I’ve seen enough Lucha Bros vs Elite stuff, but this was a classic match. I used to be worried about AEW not having enough fresh matchups but I’m starting to see realize the bigger picture, and how much it helps tell the story.

- Similar to the Cobb/Moxley match they had to book Wardlow carefully and they did well, he kicked out of Cody’s finisher and had to be pinned off a crazy high spot. This was great storytelling, Cody/Arn tease like with Dusty, the fact that it was pinfall/sub only, it’s always silly when it feels like someone can just walk out the door at anytime.

This show was really good. The product doesn’t have to be carried by one feud by their top stars, they’ve managed to have 3 main event level feuds for a PPV.

I have no complaints. From top to bottom, arguably their greatest episode.

The exulted one? Could be interesting, but my preference would be a former member of the Bullet Club, whoever that may be

AEW is starting to grow on me last night was arguably their best episode to date. I still think they need
to beef up their roster have a horrible womens division and have done a poor job overall making Omega
feel like a superstar plus there is some real cringe indy level talents I'd nuke but there is a lot of positives.

Agreed on all points. I was glad to see them add Cobb and have him look good against their #1 face, and Taz' presence helped. I love the Lucha Brothers. They are so much better than Santana & Ortiz. If they had let Santana & Ortiz win the battle royal, I would have had to stop watching - nice finish to it. Tbh, a lot of the battle royal was pretty bad. And Cody finished off the show well. I'd love to see Cody vs MJF become one of the all-time great rivalries.

Another small subtle, maybe red herring thing AEW did yesterday. When the Dark order cut their promo and Scorpio Sky attacked one of the members, Raven was sitting right there in the audience. Just brilliant booking.

Last night was the best episode to date IMO. The build to the PPV next week has been done at a great pace too, and the card for that PPV is looking legitimately great.

I enjoy every Lucha brothers match, these guys never fail to disappoint. Also the Kenny Hangman storyline is surprisingly very entertaining. Looking forward to their match with the young bucks at Revolution

Austin Aries would be really good as a heel i'd think. I'd say he'd do well in the inner circle perhaps if they hadn't already gotten their members sorted.

Anyway I think the exalted one is either Raven, Matt Hardy or somehow Marty Scurll signed his agreement to include him being able to do AEW stuff (in which case, him being the exalted one makes the most sense on paper regarding motivation).

How upset are people going to be when the exalted one turns out to be Taya Valkyrie?

Yeah speaking of Taz that could be a good comparison for Cobb. I know it's hard for some people to take a guy that's
around 5'7 or 5'8 as a bad ass but Cobb has the background and mass to pull it off I really hope he does indeed sign
with AEW they really need more guys like him.

Yeah I've loved the Lucha Brothers since they were with Impact and agreed about Santana & Ortiz they can have
good matches but just aren't stars and do have the look of jobbers.

May be an unpopular preference, but i wanna see Harper as the exalted one.

The Dark Order has been growing on me recently but a couple things that's holding them back is a big name and someone with size you kill two birds with one stone potentially.

Not sure i'd want him as leader rather than the #2 or the big bodyguard type for the exalted one mainly cause i'm not sure he has enough name value to pull it off. It could just fall a bit flat like the debut of Swagger.

I think Harper is talented enough to pull it off. Would really love to see him be the center piece of that group, like a laid back, messiah type cult leader with a ruthless/violent side. Keep the Dark Order away from other factions for like a year then slow build. Similar to how Shield v Wyatt Family SHOULD HAVE been.

Yea I think harper would be a great leader for the Dark order. he already has that cult like mentality.

A guy like Tama Tonga would make a lot of sense as well, he has history with the Elite and Frankie Kazarian
