Amazing. He's the goat

When I read about who he was I expected to hate him.

Dude won me over with that hands in pocket arm drag. I love him.

The tag match was better, but I agree that match was absolutely fantastic and perfectly played to the strengths of both guys.

Revolution as a whole was a very solid ppv I thought at least.

It was a pretty decent PPV, which sounds crazy since we had what looks to be an instant classic (could be a Match of the Year candidate?), but there's a bit of a damper with some of these finishes.

PS: We gotta stop with the Canadian Destroyer in what feels like every match, this has been the case for a lot of AEW matches. Full thoughts....

Jake Hager vs. Goldust:

- I was really surprised that this was the opener, more so with how it played it out and its slow pace. Darby/Sammy would've been more fitting, but I like the mix of MMA/Old School moveset that Hager has, and I even liked how they used Hager's wife to get some heat, but this was one of those finishes that fell flat for me. I like that they're making the Hager low-blow a thing, but this was one match I don't think needed it. I liked the submission victory, just not the set up.

- Hager referencing the Tyson Fury fight with the tongue spot was really cool, wish the commentary touched upon it. I also liked how Goldust tried to work Hager's arm to exact revenge, while Hager also focused on the arm to further work on the injury. Commentary didn't really talk about that much either. Pretty good opener though.

Darby Allin vs. Sammy Guevara:

- My man Sammy G keeps losing but this guy is going to be a future champion. As perfect as I found Pac's shooting star on the table, Sammy's 630 was even cooler. At the same time, way too much action happened on the outside, and they didn't have as much time as I would've liked in the ring but there were still a lot of fun spots in and out the ring, a really fun match all the way through, maybe we'll see Hager vs. Allin next.

Omega/Page vs. Young Bucks

- This match made the whole PPV worth the price of admission. This was my kind of match, so this was 5 stars to me. This the best feud in wrestling, and they now delivered what may end up being the match of the year. I really liked how they built into the high spots, it wasn't some Young Buck spotfest match, it had a lot of great storytelling. Omega has delivered 3 straight GREAT matches (Lucha Bros, IronMan, PPV Tag) I wish I watched wrestling when this guy was in New Japan. Feel like I missed out, he's so good.

- I really got worried Page was going to turn on Omega at the end of the match...even the post match delivered. I'm actually glad there wasn't some obvious heel turn, they're just letting the crowd decide who they want to cheer/boo based on how they're acting as friends.

Nyla Rose vs. Kris Statlander

- This was like when the women's match followed Rock vs. Hogan... I just didn't care much for this at all. When I tuned in, Statlander was botching. They had one neat little spot with the Statlander hand stand to counter Nyla, crowd tried their best to get into it but they kept messing up. It was pretty awful tbh.

MFJ vs. Cody Rhodes

- This match was weird, the finish fell a bit flat, and there were too many holds in what is supposed to be a blood bath feud. MJF bladed off a disaster kick? That was pretty lame. Cody losing was the right call but this match was a bit disappointing. It was average at best and just felt like they could've done a lot more.

Pac vs. Orange Cassidy:

- I seriously thought OC was going to win for a second. Just for that, this whole match was a success on-top of how entertaining it was. I'm really glad they put it on the PPV.

Moxley vs. Jericho

- It was kind of slow, I didn't feel that much excitement when he took off the eye patch, and I didn't like how he suddenly had a comeback out of no where too, it gives me Super Cena vibes. I'm not expecting the highest quality matches from Jericho at 49, but this was still a really great feud with a pretty good match for the most part, I can't help but feel a bit sad that this might be Jericho's last world championship reign in his career.

I was expecting some sort of big ending, but we just got an awkward ending because it was totally unscripted lol, but I understand ending the PPV with your new champion looking as best as he can. Fun night all in all.

Overall, thought that was a great show. The tag match was an early MOTY candidate and quite a few guys had breakout performances. Darby, Sammy, Orange Cassidy, and Adam Page all came out of that show looking like a million bucks. I thought there were too many BS finishes, though, for a major PPV.

Cody is surrounded by too many yes men based on that tattoo alone. Horrendously carny

Thought it was a very solid PPV although the MJF v Cody was a pretty big letdown. I thought Mox v Jericho was fine for what it was. Omega & Hangman vs Young Bucks was easily MOTN. Pac vs Cassidy was fun.

Cody's neck tattoo has more heat then 95% of heels in the entire business right now. Somebody actually
started a go fund me for him to get it removed and Brandi said she hates it.

Cody better let MJF have a field day with this in his promos...

Also Cody has been working a lot of hardcore matches in the last year wouldn't surprise me if he's had a few
concussions wonder if they contributed to his poor thinking of getting that thing.

Saw some highlights, looks like it was a solid show. Interested to see where they go with Mox as champ, and if Chicago is any indicator, may have to turn the Bucks heel instead of Page.

I just re watched the PPV for the second time after my initial purchase...

I warmed up to the Cody/MJF match and Jericho/Moxley match and more, but still feel underwhelmed by both. And I realized hager/goldust was way worse than my initial reaction to it

Why was Cody going for a pinfall so early in a blood feud and then continuing to try and out wrestle him with holds?

Idk, honestly I can’t help but feel the event could’ve been way better , especially with how they were building up to it.

Hager/Goldust, MJF/Cody, Jericho/Moxley weren’t PPV quality. This card was saved so badly by that tag match, which may have even been better on the second watch, so I’m really torn on how to grade this because I was met with a few let downs on some major feuds, but had a match of the year candidate at the same time.
