Re: WWE Raw Discussion III
It's funny I didn't even hear the crowd crapping all over the womens match because I was so bored
I turned the volume off and started downloading some music while it played in the background.
Another thing I didn't like is why is the Club having a somewhat lengthy competitive match against
Lucha House Party??? They should be booked to look strong and squash the jobbers in under 2 minutes.
Lucha House Party sucks and shouldn't be on the main roster at all except for maybe Kalisto.
Also did Drew McIntyre job to Cedric Alexander? I went to the washroom during the middle of the
match and don't remember it at all.

To be fair, she's a heel (i think) so it makes some sense character wise. I have an issue when the faces get salty on twitter at fans for not liking any rubbish they produce.

Raw Reunion would be the perfect time for someone like Kevin Owens to cut a pipebomb promo and get more of the casual viewers interested

Re: WWE Raw Discussion III
Becky Lynch along with Rollins have become completely unbearable lately in their interviews and social media
going at anybody who they perceive is critical of them or the company.
First I don't understand whats going on with Beckys character they're trying to make her a Stone Cold/Connor McGreggor
style cool badass babyface but shes coming across as an arrogant, cocky, whiny, fraudulent heel. She came across as a
big time heel to Natalya on her promo on RAW and shes been getting a lot of heat this week online with her interviews.
I don't know how shes bitching at legends and GOATs and Rollins is clapping back at anybody when they are drawing
historically low ratings and can't even sell out MSG. Granted its not all their fault but I wouldn't be talking ish right
now if I were them.
I don't understand what makes Becky "The Man" from a kayfabe perspective she never did anything she got over because
the fans liked her as an underdog who they felt deserved more. She lost to Asuka at the Rumble and she didn't beat
Rousey one on one. From a shoot perspective Rousey and Nia Jax would wreck her and Charlotte is on a whole other
level than her.
Her and Seth are starting to get X-Pac heat with a lot of people yet they will still have their loyal fanbase thats
somewhat loud and will buy their crappy merch yet most of the masses continue to not watch.

To be fair, most of us aren't not watching because of Rollins or Becky. We're not watching because everything sucks. Like, I refuse to watch a show at all if Corbin is in the main event, so I skipped the past two shows.

I'm not blaming Becky and Seth for people not watching we all know the problem is the senile old man
at the top but they're supposed to be two of the biggest babyfaces in the company yet they come across as
spoiled entitled arrogant whiners that is above criticism sure they're booking hasn't been the greatest but no
need to act like this on social media and interviews.
They say the best characters are an extension of your real personality just turned up and I think Becky and
Seth are both natural heels.

Becky is no longer likable, so her going against heels just insn't working even a little bit. They need to turn her heel, and if they do, then they need to turn Seth heel - but do it in a way that doesn't seem contrived just to fit with Becky. That tongue thing she does to look tough looks annoying as hell now - just doesn't work for a face character anymore. Right now, she's actually hurting Seth by association. Part of that is that her character's made her seem sex-less, tbh. Maybe that shouldn't matter, but it does.

I think the real issue is that WWE just doesn't have many good female heels. You've got Charlotte and...that's about it.
Bliss is great on the mic, but she is just way too small to be convincing because she also lacks speed or strength. You can be a convincing undersized wrestler (see: Rey Mysterio) if you're such an electric athlete that it's somewhat believable that you can win that way, but Bliss isn't remotely convincing as an in-ring worker.
Nia just flat out sucks and has no business even being in a professional wrestling ring right now. If she weren't related to the Rock, she'd still be training at Full Sail off of television.
Asuka could have been a great heel for them, but they ruined her. The natural story to tell with Asuka was her streak continuing until she inevitably met Ronda, with her just demolishing the fan favorites like Becky and Bayley and Sasha along the way. By the time she got to Ronda, she could have been the biggest heel in the company with the right booking. That was the story they were obviously telling with her in NXT (not leading up to Ronda, but just her dominant face run slowly morphing into a heel run as she started to cut corners to score a victory).
There are just so few women who are suited to not only being heels, but being convincing in-ring heels. Charlotte and Sasha are about the only two, and Charlotte has been so overexposed to this point that they needed to pump the brakes and Sasha was never even allowed to be a main roster heel, which is criminal.

Tonight is the RAW Reunion right?
Looking forward to seeing all the legendary wrestlers who remind us of a time when wrestling was great.
However I fully expect the senile old man to ruin them with his garbage scripted promos and corporate marketing-speak that they shove into the mouths of everybody.

I'm not watching because everything sucks, including Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. Probably not their fault as they are in the same straitjacket as everyone else, but it is what it is.
BTW caught a clip of Corbin planting Becky during their mixed match. Enjoyed it. One of the few times recently when a heel was allowed to be a heel.

Right, but that's my basic point. I don't think it's the fault of Becky or Rollins. The entire show sucks. From what I've read (I haven't watched the main roster outside of the main event of Sweet Saudi Money for the lols in over two months), they've been pretty terrible, and pairing them on screen was obviously an awful idea because they have very different characters. But I don't see them as any worse than most of the other crap that I've read in the Raw and Smackdown recaps.

The show's ratings aren't tanking because of Becky or Rollins. They've been on a downward spiral for years, and the past year or so has been the most creatively bankrupt that WWE has been in literally decades and it's finally catching up to them the last few months, especially with the AEW hype hitting and them actually putting on a couple of good shows, plus quite a few wrestlers asking out of WWE due to creative issues and the whole going forward with the Saudi show right after that journalist was tortured and killed that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
The good thing is that the stock is starting to tank right along with the ratings, and that's something that will actually get people to take notice. They can put on the worst product in the world as long as the stock is soaring, and Vince seemed content to do just that. But now the ratings are off a cliff and the stock isn't anywhere near as promising as it was last year and it's starting to make them sweat a little.

Re: WWE Raw Discussion III
Most of this show is just cringeworthy.
I am fine with nostalgia and returns, but they need to make some semblance of sense.
Cena and Usos/Rakishi- Why?
Rollins and DX/Clique teaming up? Why?
The random Slaughter/Angle/RVD/Hurricane?
Most entertaining bits have been the 24/7 title. God is that thing comedy gold.

Seth doesn't deserve that rub at all. And just recently Kliq and The Club with Balor had a moment and just because AJ is a heel that goes to waste? C'mon man. Seth doesn't need it. He doesn't deserve it.
Otoh, that Foley segment served its purpose and rightfully so. Yowie Wowie finally something that made sense.

Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin bury this entire roster and this entire era just by showing up and cutting a promo.
