I'll humbly eat crow for my comment. Kofi put up a hell of a performance in this match.

Man I hope this is the start of some sort of organic movement/push for Kofi. That was impressive as hell.

Re: WWE SmackDown Discussion II
It's rather funny that this was the best thing of Kofi's 10 plus year career. And it was completely unplanned and only came about because of an injury to another wrestler.
WWE doesnt deserve all the talent that it has.

I'm all for pushing Kofi but his addition was random wasn't it? I mean no matches to determine who'll replace Ali?

Has to be the inaugural Tag Champs. Looks, passable ring work, promo, charisma.

Wanted the IIconics or Riott Squad but both don't have any build up.

Last night convinced me they're gonna do Bryan (c) vs Kofi at WrestleMania. You can build it up nicely too if you put Luke Harper with DB, they can do Bryan + Bludgeons vs New Day at Fastlane. Wouldn't be a main event or anything but I'd be a fun 6 man tag.

On paper, that could be a great match. Unfortunately, WWE will probably book it to be a slow-paced snoozefest that no one cares about right after a match the crowd was hot for like they often do with Smackdown title matches.

Re: WWE SmackDown Discussion II
Kofi was a last minute replacement for Ali. If they had a plan originally, then Bryan v Kofi wasn't the plan. Could they change it? Yes. Especially if the original Wrestlemania plan was Bryan vs Ali. But just because they booked Kofi well in that gauntlet match isn't indicative of anything. I think the logical thing is that they wanted tag specialist Kofi to look like a real threat going into EC so they put him over hard. The fact that people are saying it could be a Wrestlemania match means what they did last night worked.

She has no opponent because 98% of the SD women are in the chamber match (well, there is still Lana and Zelina...but come on now). And they want to separate her from Becky and Charlotte mess. And having her appear in fluff segments just to have her appear isn't always good idea because she's not a strong english promo.
All in all it's just a storm of bad timing I think.
I've seen some rumors that they may either move a RAW woman over to challenge her for Wrestlemania (if Ember heals up in time I'd say she'd be the main candidate). I have also heard Meltzer or someone else float the idea that they might call up Kairi for her, which seems pretty out left field to me.
Anyway, it seems Bryan and her are in similar situations. That's the price of being on the B brand

David Shoemaker suggested Bryan vs Asuka.
Sounds good to me.

I'd watch the hell out of that.
One of the best workers in the world plus Daniel Bryan?

Funny thing is they pretty much wrestle the same exact style, they are almost the male and female mirror images of the other in the ring.

I really hope that the SD title match at WM is Bryan-Owens. That's far more appealing to me than the Bryan-Wyatt rumor that keeps floating around.

I can't complain about her being in the world tittle hunt just fun to question it and her skills.
We've literally spent the last five years with Roman Reigns as the face of the company and he's not top ten at anything. Hell, I don't think you could rank him top twenty in the company at either promos or wrestling.
Becky is far better as both a worker and a talker than Roman. She'll be fine.
Roman Reigns became the face of the company on "look" alone not only did he have a top 10 look he might've been
number 1 and a lot of wrestling fans always seem to forget how important this is especially when it comes to the WWE.
Unfortunately his mic skills/promo ability never improved and in the ring I thought he was an adequate brawler that
had some decent matches early on but he just stagnated and he's in an era where there's a lot of underwhelming guys
on the roster so it's not hard to stand out and someone needs to be pushed.

Reigns reminds me of Cena in that he's not going to get the best out of someone but he can hang with and match any big time performers.

Personally, I think a lot of that is that guys like Reigns and Cena get the benefit of the best booking. Now, Cena did improve a ton in the ring the past six years or so, but Reigns sadly never evolved beyond his five moves. However, he would always get a ton of time for his matches and they'd usually be booked to account for his strengths and weaknesses.
In contrast, I feel like they often booked other popular guys worse intentionally so they wouldn't steal Reigns' thunder when he was later on the same card. They still do this with him gone. See how they completely neutered the Smackdown main title match at the Rumble via awful card placement and booking that completely failed to take that placement into account.

I think it's commonly held in the wrestling community that Cena got the best out of Khali and Umaga. Yeah, almost all of his best matches are against great performers, but most of his matches have been against great performers.

Right, but I think a lot of that is that he gets the benefit of the best booking. They weren't holding Cena back at the expense of the top guys because Cena was the top guy. Yeah, he can work, but booking matters. Most of why Rousey looks as good as she does is because they're perfectly willing to work around her weaknesses in a way they don't bother to with most performers. Reigns got the same benefits, although he was so limited in the ring that it was really hard to hide it in longer matches.
I just don't see how anyone can watch WWE from the past five to ten years and not think they are holding back a lot of people due to horrendous booking.
