This tag division is a lot of fun, I think Omega/Page have got to drop the titles to FTR. Would segue nicely to a young bucks feud too.

Love having Jericho on commentary, aew giving fans what they want even when they don’t have to.

Jericho has mentioned on TIJ that OC is one of the nicest guys backstage, and has treated him with upmost respect. This is definitely Jericho’s call to work a feud with him, two classy workers. This will be a great match because it will be two people trying to make each other look good.

Not much else stood out to me, but will say that it felt like every segment had purpose to further storylines, which wasn’t the case last week imo.

And that makes sense for everyone - as NXT is no longer a minor league, and his buddies (who blend really well with him) are with him in the Undisputed Era. They no longer need to pick a time for him to be "promoted" to another WWE brand. And he's probably the #1 draw for NXT.

I was impressed with the quality of the women’s tag team match. I didn’t love Shida getting pinned, but I don’t mind a feud between her and Penelope Ford while Baker is on the shelf (assuming that’s what this sets up). Provides an opportunity to create a new viable woman threat. I thought the match should’ve ended after the title shot to the head — I didn’t think she needed the perfect-plex afterward, but that’s a minor gripe.

Jericho on commentary is masterful, and makes me feel like there needs to be a consistent heel in the booth (especially since there’s 3 of them there). But JR, Excalibur and Tony are all natural baby-face commentators.

The Cobana - Dark Order tease(s) don’t do much for me, tbh. It’s underwhelming, and a little awkward. Not exactly stoked to see where this is going.

Cody and Mark Quen put on a good match for the title. One thing that stuck out to me was it looked like Quen was out of his element trying to have a technical match. His mannerisms/expressions were a little off, and his selling was a bit much for me. He can have that high-flying tag match every night of the week, but it seemed obvious that this wasn’t his kind of match (yet). Still, a good match overall; I enjoyed it.

Another possibilty is that it was only a rumor and used AEW (+Britt with her interview) always as leverage for his contract negotiations in the months ago.

I might be late to the party on this but...

You ever notice Luke Harper and Seth Rollins are doing the exact same gimmick right now? Both are cult leaders looking to
recruit lost wrestlers or wrestlers on losing streaks. Both have the exact same look with the ponytail, beard and suit. They
both also do the blank stare into space to demonstrate how "crazy" they are.

Is this a rib or strange coincidence?

Ricky Starks a very nice under the radar signing by AEW... he was growing on me with his feud with Ziggy Dice
on NWA Power Hour before the pandemic hit. Looks like he's keeping his old gimmick in NWA for now he's pretty
solid on the mic. Curious to see how good he is in the ring the NWA style type of matches are night and day compared
to AEW style matches.

Not really a fan of the Ricky Starks character/presentation. I get that he’s a semi-big deal in the indies/NWA but he didn’t look like a serious enough character, overall. In fact, I thought it looked a little silly that Cody was having this competitive match with this effeminate newcomer. No way he’s 198 pounds, by the way. I liked his promo package, though.

That Young Bucks match was all over the place, for me. That tombstone spot didn’t even make sense (Havoc held Kip in the tombstone position and the Bucks ‘made’ him tombstone him), and the pacing was a bit off.

That referee just kicked MJFs hand to break the hold lmao

Also, not buying in to the Abadon hype. Probably it's just the timing but if she's that slow, I doubt she'll be a believable threat unless she moves at a methodical pace with a menacing moveset. That low hurricanrana finisher is just weird for the character

We’re on the same page again, I always look at these guys builds and looks and I was left unimpressed.

I never saw myself as a big hoss guy, but maybe I’m way too much into the look of a wrestler than I realized.

Maybe cause when I watched in the attitude era, everyone had the roided up body, you had guys like Steven Richards even looking jacked up, lol.

Now I’m glad roids aren’t as rampant, and not everyone can look like Brian Cage, but these guys barely look like they hit the gym consistently.

His gimmick has potential, I liked his bit on Sammy’s vlog where they had a match against a mop and a broom, he even took a bump on a flaming table.

These tag matches have too many big double teams that don’t get a finish. Still a pet peeve of mine.

No reason Trent should kick out of a aluminum bat to the stomach, followed by a shooting star press. Isn’t that one of Sammy’s finishers too?

Bit overload on tag matches but with the tag team wars, it makes total sense. And I like that storyline.

But still, no real standout feuds heading into Fyter Fest. Then again I didn’t realize it would be aired on TV so no room for complaining.

I think it's particularly helpful with smaller guys if they get good and ripped. It makes guys like Gargano and Ciampa more convincing because, despite their size, both guys are in incredible shape.

I can give an exception to a guy like Orange Cassidy given that his gimmick is that he's lazy, but even he is in good shape, just not cut like some of the smaller WWE guys.

I don't know how long it's been out but with the current climate of pro wrestling, an audio of SammyG on a podcast saying that he wanted to "fu$@ing rape" Sasha Banks during his tryout (4 years ago) just resurfaced. Definitely not a good look.

Indeed a bad look, because that's a really bad joke to make, even 4 years ago.
He should aknowledge the mistake and apologize to Sasha for it.

Cancelculture is thriving though.

Yeah, that's what I figured would happen. I don't see them cutting SammyG, though. Hopefully he can pick up right where he left off upon his return. By all accounts he is a good dude, just made an absolutely stupid and inexcusable comment when he was a kid.

I've met him and talked in person twice after local shows (Chicago we have great Indy promotions that draw the best in the business) and for being such a prick on stage, he's friendly AF in real life.

Ironically though, at an MLW show back in November, I met Teddy Hart. And he was extremely fan friendly. So go figure. Lol

MJF on the other hand, is every bit of the prick you see on TV
Fantasy Hoops/Football/Baseball fans..

For info on a forum that actually talks Fantasy sports and not spammed with soliciting leagues, PM me. The more the merrier !

Sammy is an idiot but at least he and Sasha talked it out like adults and he's getting the appropriate punishment and there is some redemption from this at least which is important.

I think more of these conversations need to be had. Honestly this is the best scenario for all involv.ed

The FTR match to open the show was solid. It was kind of awkward the way the Butcher and the Blade called them out. An eight man tag kind of feels like a **** (at fyter fest).

Sonny Kiss is doing all too much with the character, attire, and manner of speaking. I get that that’s legitimately who he is, but who is he supposed to be appealing to ? I don’t think wrestling has this rabid gay fan base that’s dying to see content like what he’s offering. He’s a talented in ring worker, and clearly athletic, but it’s a touch off-putting to watch this guy cross-dressing and playing wrestler.

Matt Hardy with Private Party is a bit weird for me. It seems out of place, to say the least — its hard to imagine a more random pairing.

OC looked pretty good in that main event segment with Jericho. Not quite convinced that he should be in the go-home program so much, but I was entertained. It’s like their giving him all this attention and spotlight, but there’s a cap on what his character can be.
