Just got off phone w/Spike prez Kevin Kay. He is all in and agrees this will change TNA on every leve

Another interesting note...

PWInsider.com is reporting that the company have reopened talks with Paul Heyman, and have also contacted Kevin Sullivan about joining the creative team.

I'm guessing TNA gets a second show. I don't know why the president of Spike would have any input on whom TNA puts on their creative team.

Yeah I was hoping they were going to add another show or add another hour to iMPACT.....but the note about Heyman and Sullivan was just an interesting note. Considering we all know what Heyman is capable of and Sullivan was very good in creative in WCW.

Doubt it has anything to do with Heyman...but if Heyman came into the company....then Vince should be worried.

Dunno about the relationship with Heyman and Bishoff are....but I could see them co-existing to compete with Vince.

To compete with Vince? The WWE is in a whole other league at this point. TNA just needs to worry about improving themselves.

I am however interested to see what TNA will be changing.

So from what I've been reading the changes will be TNA doing away with PPV's and doing live shows in place of them.

This may not be positive from a business perspective but this is a MAJOR change.

An interesting idea, but a damn risky one.

I assume Spike will be showing the FPVs?

The idea would be great for the fans that actually watch TNA (myself included) but would be a terrible move for them financially. If people are barely tuning in to see IMPACT on Thursdays, then there is a solid chance that most people don't even know when their PPVs are. What little money they are making on their PPVs is from the dedicated TNA fans, who will already be watching anyway. I don't see this getting them many new viewers, and will probably end up costing them money.

It's definitely going to cost them money (although Spike will be paying for it). I think it's risky, but I actually do think it has potential. Years ago I only watched their ppvs, because they were so awesome. Then I dabbled in Impact, but it was consistently so awful I stopped watching eventually. But I'm always pulling for them. If they can step up these non-PPVs to where they were 4, 5, 6 years ago then they should be able to bring in some new fans.

I don't think they would be getting rid of all their PPV's. They may keep 3 or 4 of them. Slammiversary, Lockdown, Destination X and Bound for Glory can be the 4 they keep. This creates more build up and suspense for the PPV, also make it more likely that more people order the PPV.

TNA can take the name Genesis and make it into another show. TNA Genesis on Tuesday nights at 8pm on Spike TV! Another wrestling show on Spike would bring more ratings, ratings = money for the station and the company TNA.

Then use things like Against All odd's, Sacrifice, Victory Road, Hard Justice, Turning Point, Final Resolution, No Surrender as the free shows one Sunday a month that the Big 4 are not scheduled. Once again, Ratings. I would look for TNA and Spike to also use these at big times (Sweeps Week) and to close out the year with Final Resolution on a SPIKE viewed weekend show and have fresh new material and rivalries for their first PPV of the year. One ends another begins. Once again, Ratings.

Also with Heyman coming in that is nothing but great news for TNA and the X-Division. I would look for Heyman if he is doing something on Camera to lean towards someone like Mike Morgan to make his impact with and possibly bring someone like Sabu or Tommy Dreamer along with him.

Also look for the signings of some others also like Carlito, Benjamin, Austin Aries, Bryan Danielson.

Tell you the truth this is all good news for TNA really.

This brings SPIKE TV and

I hope they call these free PPVlike events "Clash of the Champions".

Not sure if you meant to bring in Dreamer, but he debuted last Sunday. More indication that I think Heyman is on his way to TNA, is that from what I read is that TNA is doing like and ECW type of stable...so Sabu could be back in TNA as well.

Don't think Carlito would be in TNA, at least not for a while after the "drug issues" but then again Jeff Hardy had all those drug charges and hes in TNA. Shelton is prob a for sure for TNA and I can't wait. As far as Aries and Danielson go...I would say Aries would be a great addition to the X Division, but if they're going to bring an old face back to TNA then I would bring back Petey Williams

Like some people I'm still unsure whether Danielson is still with the WWE or not, especially with him accepting independent bookings when I'm pretty sure all wrestler that sign a contract with WWE have a no compete clause for 90 days.
