I've always liked Big Kev personally. He may have not had the greatest reputation in the business, because he was ruthless on the business end and didn't let companies dick him around, but he gave 20+ years of his life to the business and was one of my favorites as a kid, both as "Diesel" and "Big Sexy". Good to see he's leaving on his own terms though.

I'd say retirement at age 51 is pretty damn sweet. Hopefully he sticks with it and doesn't try a comeback. It's scary because you know he'd have an immediate place in TNA if he ever decided to.

He was pretty good in The Longest Yard. Maybe he could get a few niche acting roles.

have to be honest, i'm glad his old grey head is off tv, he was entertaining for a time, made good money. Probably going to work indies and spot shows, and eventually get an office job in WWE

I'm glad he's done wrestling too. I was a fan but his time has passed and if he sticks around much longer, he would simply be known as one of those old guys that couldn't let it go.

Agreed that he shouldn't wrestle any more.

The only thing I'd add is that he said No WWE and he shouldn't ever be allowed to wrestle a match again. But I think he'd be a great choice to be commissioner.

One of the things he used to say recently was "Some consider me one of the greatest workers in history" and this was kind of a shout-out to the IWC. For those who take this stuff super seriously they usually didn't get the joke. But I always thought it was hysterical.

Thank God. Crappy Wrestler. Selfish Guy. Glad he's out of wrestling.

Oh nooooo, what's TNA going to do now?

But seriously, I liked him in WCW during the years I watched. Hope he has a good retirement.

One of the biggest reasons why WCW died out. I'm glad he's done.

He was also one of the reasons why WCW was beating WWF in the ratings war for whoever many weeks straight it was. Anyways glad he's gone from TNA, cuz he was doing more harm then good. Maybe he'll get inducted into what is suppose to the be a WCW themed Hall of Fame this year at WrestleMania weekend.

Probably a little too soon for him to be inducted since he's just now retiring but he's definitely deserving of the honor, along with Scott Hall.

Yeah but he had too much power in his contract, ditto Hall and Hogan. They rode the same idea for a few years right into the ground and then couldn't think of anything else. If they were smart they would've started letting WCW build the franchise around their cruiserweights with the older guys providing the drawing power for main events. Instead all their young talented guys like Jericho, Benoit, Eddie, Rey, Psychosis and Ultimo all got buried and put into stupid storylines while they wrestled DQ's at every PPV.

And lest we forget The Finger Point of Doom:

Can we blame the fingerpoke of doom on nash? Seems like hogan pushed the idea till nash was like "alright...."

But I could be wrong.

Nash had full creative control over anything involving his character, as did Hogan and Hall. So they could've disagreed to absolutely anything if they didn't want to do it. So regardless whose idea it was, Nash could have nixed it but went with it anyway. He's actually defended the incident, saying that any match between him and Hogan would've been terrible, so that's why they did it.

The fact that he beat the previously unbeaten Goldberg the night before, only to be beaten by a poke the night later killed WCW. Their ratings steadily dropped after that, because as Nash was the leader of Wolfpac and Hogan the leader of Black & White, it basically joined them back together and staled out an already overdeveloped and bland nWo angle where half the company was a member by then.

Basically, the top title in the company meant nothing afterwards. Even more so when you have David Arquette and Vince Russo winning the title.

Jeez @ the David Arquette reminder.

I'm going to go watch the rise and fall of the WCW again. That was a great DVD.

Right. People forget that outside the nWo angle, WCW was crap, before and after. They got bought out for very good reason.

As for Nash, it's about time. Thanks for the one good year of the nWo and the good years as Diesel, but he was broken down 10 years ago and did nothing of note in TNA other than participate in the MEM angle. Always great on the mic though and Cliff Levingston will always remember a promo he cut in TNA that went something like this:

"To paraphrase a good friend of mine, 'whatcha gonna do brother, when the 22 time surgically repaired knees come down on you!?!?!'" Cliff Levingston laughed his ass off.
