Tough Enough

Post#1 » by Cliff Levingston » Tue Apr 12, 2011 6:35 pm

Does it not make sense to have a separate Tough Enough thread? If not, mods, just merge this or delete it. Thanks.

So far, Ariane and Matt have been given the boot. Ariane deserved to go quite a bit. Favorite match: Melina vs. Alicia Fox on some show, couldn't name any others. Not Austin/Rock, not HBK/Taker; her favorite match was Melina/Alicia Fox. Haha.

This last week, Matt got kicked off. Trish gave him a shot to show off in the ring a bit and Luke stole the show. That Matt dude was pretty spineless. Cliff Levingston loves watching Austin give a little throwback to his Stone Cold character. Although supposedly, Stone Cold Steve Austin really isn't much different than good 'ol Steve Williams so it might not be too much of an act.

Pretty wack to get rid of m-dogg so early. Maybe he's just not the kind of guy they're looking for in this competition. Might be too polished. Same reason they rejected AA. Hopefully they still give him a shot ala Morrison and Miz.

Well Miz and Morrison were both finalists in their seasons. But anything could happen. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets signed and goes to FCW right off the bat. Matt Morgan and Shad Gaspard also got deals and they were eliminated somewhat early in the competitions (I think).

This is more of a reality show anyways. It's not about who's good in the ring, it's about the bigger personalities and looks with Vince. Matt was never going to win. He's way too small and Evan Bourne already does everything he does, but better. A lot of these guys on the show are horrible in the ring though and they probably won't last very long in the business. Matt's always going to find work overseas and on the indies.

I don't really look at it from that perspective. The way they looked at it was that a guy like Matt is, potential wise, pretty much tapped out. So while he may be further along than a lot of the guys on the show there isn't a whole lot more than what they've seen.

But you're definitely right about a lot of these guys not lasting. I read an interview with Bill Demott and he said only 2-3 people on the show could even go through the farm system. As far as Aries, he's better than 95% of the guys on the main roster so he would run all over every person on this show.

The WWE isn't about wrestling anymore.

Skidmarks cut one hell of a promo at the end.

This is a great program by the way. I look forward to this more than RAW.

Skidmarks promo was very solid. Just like SCSA said, he tore that other guy up with the promo. You could tell he started losing it at the very end but I don't know many guys who don't start trailing off once they go on for more than a couple of lines at a time.

It's only a matter of time before we hear the fans chanting "you can't wrestle" at the winner of Tough Enough. It's already funny enough when TNA fans chant that every time Bubba Ray Dudley gets in the ring.

Yeah, I like it. Besides the Matt Cross elimination which is even more confusing since the eliminations since then (and the first one) have been correct. Someone must have hated Matt Cross.

That was cold to do to Rima though

I'm sure if she really wants it though, she'll end up being signed tomorrow. That other girl who got eliminated got signed the day after her elimination aired. Plus Rima's got the famous factor for her, like snooki she coulda probably got a contract without going on to Tough Enough.

I'd say she has no future in wrestling. She's just not athletic enough. She could do those drills over and over and she still wouldn't be able to master them.

Yeah, I find it laughable that people even contemplate her being a diva.

The divas division has been laughable since the first diva search, probably before that. I think it's not that laughable to think that Miss USA could become a WWE (Action Soap Opera, not wrestling company) diva.

Candice Michelle
Maria
Maryse
Kelly Kelly

None of those Divas probably could do any of the drills either when they first started, and the worst one of that group became a womens champ. The one with the biggest tits, a divas champ.

I don't necessarily want her to be a diva, but we've had worse....

the **** was that...

At first, you'd think the WWE would be eager to have her on TV due to the Miss USA publicity. But, by the time she's ready to hack it on Smackdown or Raw, it'll be a couple years down the line and everyone will forget that she's been Miss USA. So, maybe they'll sign her to a development deal and see what happens.

Celtics, Kelly couldn't wrestle when she first came in and even now she's at best below average. Having said that, she's clearly very athletic and there is a ceiling there that simply isn't there with Rima.

Both you guys make valid points. Like I said, I'm not hoping she gets a job in the company, just that it wouldn't surprise me.

You sit there with that gel in your hair and your popped up collar... Shut up

God I love Stone Cold. I was afraid he'd be a watered down version of himself for this show, but he's been Stone Cold the whole way through.

I though Ryan's hokey stuff wasn't all that egregious this week. It had enough technique to look like personality, rather than just cartoon wrestling. I think it's obvious they kept Christina because she's a female. week in and week out we see her stop dead in the middle of drills, either because she doesn't know what to do or because she can't physically do it. Ryan could at least do the drills.
