In the first PPV match of a strong, personal fued between about the only two main eventers on SmackDown! at the time, both Eddie Guerrero and John Bradshaw Layfield really deliver. They do a good job building JBL's character up pre-match, as the rich, arrogant, self absorbed, very cocky heel who hates Eddie Guerrero and what he stands for. The plot thickens at a house show when JBL handles Eddies mother in the middle of the ring and she goes down with a heart attack... JBL comes out and gives a top notch promo which leads to one of the best matches ever at a Judgement Day event. Very brutal fight that does not end at the bell, both these men really gave it their all almost in true warrior mode to carry a struggling brand at the time that was quite deprived of talent. The crowd is very pumped which helps sell the story, which was just a great storyline. This PPV match really set the tone for one of the best SmackDown fueds in history. This match has a couple very sick chairshots including one that busts EG wide open (or maybe his blade does) either way starts bleeding, ALOT. This happens at around the midway point of the match and he continues to put on an outstanding match the rest of the night.
