Just Met Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff

Post#1 » by Waylon Mercy » Fri Aug 23, 2013 7:34 pm

What's up guys just thought I'd share my little story of meeting Hulk
Hogan and Eric Bischoff with you all. They are both in town for a
fan expo event and did an autograph signing so I decided to check it out.

I got Hogan to autograph my Wrestlemania 18 chair that I have from the
event for sitting 5th Row. Both him and Bischoff were extremely cool
humble and classy nice guys. But they look so much older in person then
they do on tv. Hogan walks like Khali :( and Bischoffs hair is snow white.

Going to the Hogan Uncensored event tonight where they tell old stories and
take Q and A from the fans I might post recap here later on and tell you how it was.

Awesome event that covered so many topics past and present eg. State of TNA, Benoit,
why the matches with Austin and Cena never happened, will he ever go back to WWE etc etc

My BB died before the show started so I couldn't take any video or pics but I've found a mini
video that's already been posted on youtube to show you guys what it was like.

This was the very start where Hogan jokes about not jobbing to anyone and why
Hogan vs. Andre at WM 3 is surpassed by another match of his as his all-time fav.

That's cool. Despite the jokes, I'd love to meet those two. Very influential in me watching wrestling. WCW as a child.

Same with me bro Hogan and He-Man and I ain't meeting He-Man lol. When I saw him
tweeting he was gonna be in town a few weeks ago I was like I gotta go to this especially
since I live downtown and the Metro Convention Center is a 5 minute walk from my place.

When I saw him doing all the promo work for the event on morning TV shows and radio for
arm wrestling the mayor and the Hogan Uncensored he said he was signing autographs
at the fan expo. I was like I really don't have any wrestling merchandise but I do have the
chair from WrestleMania 18 and that would be awesome to get autographed. I didn't know
how much autographs were gonna be or if they were free so I asked one of the guys
in charge of the event and he said $100 and at first I was like :o and walked away and
after about 5 minutes I was like well I could afford it and Hogan does need the money and
I have the chair with me and getting it signed would add that much more value to it. I was
just on Ebay looking at autographed Hogan merchandise and I could see why he charges that much.

The Hogan Uncersoed show was so awesome that I feel that was worth $100 not the $28 I paid.

I wouldn't pay $100 to get my bible autographed by Jesus, that's just an insane amount of money for Hogan to write his name. Then again, I guess that $100 can pay a TNA wrestler's salary for the year...

I've got an exact replica of the WWF winged championship made by the guy who made the belts for the company back then, signed by Hulkster. It's safe to say it cost more than $100... That's awesome Waylon, getting that chair signed is amazing and that hole fan expo sounded awesome. I am also Jealous

You probably would if it was CM Punk

Even if you hate Hogan and it appears you do you must respect his historical significance
in this business. If I ever decided to sell that chair down the road having that autographed
by him adds that much more value to it and I could turn a nice profit.

That's awesome that was always my favorite belt. Do you have the belt framed or hung up on the wall?

I've actually met Punk and got his autograph a number of times, all for free ;)

I don't care or judge you for paying the $100 to get your chair/investment signing by Hogan, I just personally would never pay that for any autograph. That's all I was saying.

ETA - I am a Hogan fan, just not a fan of his stint w/ TNA. The panel you went to does sound awesome though, I love hearing all the inside stuff and stories from big time wrestlers.

It was the best belt. And yea it's in a case. Comes out once in ahwhile. Strangely enough, I recently moved and as such, just had it out literally an hour ago... Things awesome man. I was trying to convince my wife to put it up on the fireplace mantle in the living room, but apparently our family picture needs to go there...

Haha, again nice job on that chair, that's awesome. You should get somebody to authenticate it professionaly. That's really where the value comes from. Either way, it's an awesome piece that you'll enjoy for a number of years.

Ya they gave me a note with it that authenticates the legitimacy of the autograph which I'll keep
but I have no intentions of ever selling it. I'm not sure if I should put it in a case or try to get
other wrestlers that were on that PPV to sign it when they are in town. I remember WWE.com
use to sell the replica belts like 10 years ago and they were like $250 to $300. How did you meet
Hogan to autograph it?
