WWE's master plan for Daniel Bryan?
I think the WWE knows exactly what they are doing with Daniel Bryan. With HHH being so hands on and involved with how the company is run over the past few years, maybe how they are handling Bryan is also a calculated plan. Hunter is big on taking wrestling back to it's roots, as evidenced by the focus on the tag team division. Back in the day, storylines and angles were built for months on end with the payoff being a big deal. Making the fans want something, holding off for so long just to pull the trigger at the right time. They have a gold mine in DB, and I'm fairly confident they aren't oblivious to it. With each "burial" of Bryan, it makes us want to see him succeed that much more. They are hopefully holding their finger on the button, and waiting for that right moment to get Daniel Bryan his big moment. Is the whole Bryan's struggle to the top story one that they have been intentionally stretching for as long as they can? Or am I just overly optimistic that they aren't just idiots burning money?

Way too optimistic, you can only bury a guy so much before the fans will stop caring.
They even dropped the angle of the Authority holding him down and HHH and him haven't really been discussing each other much for the past two months.
I agree that building someone up over months is important, but they effed up his Fall run and buried him and if they're waiting for the perfect moment, it was following the steel cage match, a Royal Rumble win and WM win for the title. That was the moment. They flubbed it, and though they may recover and do that, it just doesn't have that special feel of this guy overcoming it right now.

He's so facing Sheamus haha. There's no master plan.

No master plan. He's going the way of Ziggler sadly.

I don't understand what makes you have a belief like that, other than wishful thinking. The creative direction since Summerslam has been extremely poor and was full of blown opportunities. And Sunday was the biggest among them.
Having said all of that, I do think Bryan is going to walk out of Extreme Rules as champion. That PPV is in Seattle and if the main event is Orton-Batista that crowd... I'm almost afraid of what might happen. So I definitely think he'll main event that PPV. The question is, what happens between now and then.

I kind of agree with you, OP. I don't think it's intentional at all, but the Rumble forced their hand and they're going to give it a shot. I feel like they've been tinkering with unreality as of late with the Ryback twitter nonsense and Barrett trolling the **** out of The Miz. It's telling me that the brass is a little more attuned to what the fans want than we may think. Triple H's opening promo sold it for me, 10/10, A+, 100% perfect heeling.
I'm thinking the Sheamus feud for WM begins at EC, when he's either locked in a cell that's malfunctioning and/or Sheamus turns on him. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the cell doesn't work during the match, then magically it does, and just when the comeback is complete, he gets Brogue kicked to hell under orders from the Authority. 25-30 minutes of awesome main event storytelling and drama means no one really loses and no one's getting buried. I'm guessing he also wins the title in Seattle, either as scheduled or during a cash in. I'll be watching closely through the spring and into the summer and if none of this looks like it's happening, then I was wrong and the company is as pedantic and categorically insane as they've always been, but worse, because the people playing with it right now aren't using their own money.
Make no mistake, Bryan's not going to get a clean win that matters for quite some time. It's up to individual fans at that point whether they want to stick around or not, but I think I will. I LOVE that organic crowd reactions effed up their plans, so I'm aware that I shouldn't put much faith in them to carry this out, but I absolutely think this is where it's going.

About HHH and Stephanie's promo, yes that was the best they've been in a few months. Having said that, acknowledging that the crowd feels a certain way and being willing to change your plans because of it are not one-and-the-same. And I just don't see any reason to believe that just because they did the former means they'll also do the latter.

Let's be real, whatever their plan is, giving him the title at mania wasn't it. It's already been reported, said again, and confirmed again that they have it written in Batistas deal in ink that he wins the rumble and main events mania and wins the title as he wanted it in writing.
I hold fast on they plan to give him the ball in Seattle at Extreme Rules in some Last Man Standing match as they've showed him being pinned enough to make you think the match would be one where he just keeps getting up and finally is the last one standing in all his glory at home with the belt or belts assuming they don't make a new strap

What a mistake it's going to be to put the belt on Batista.

Considering Dave's likely doing the job the next month not really. Marvel owns his time exclusively for like 10 straight weeks after May, there will be no Rock situation like with Hercules and Pain and Gain. He will go back to full time on the road after that but it always seemed like he would come in get his win and title reign, drop it to Bryan, and then return around SummerSlam since he signed a two year full time deal with a bunch of guarantees in writing since he was taught to do business by the best and got everything he wanted in writing like he always said he would in his shoots

He's been referred to on screen by Flair, Rey, Hunter, Orton, and Cena as Dave all the time. They always use his first name, like Cena always calls Orton, Randall

So they wasted a WM moment on a guy tht is pretty irrelevant so that he could drop the belt a month later and held back the guy that should....that is some smart business right there...

Getting Batista to agree to a full 2 year return and work house shows where he can sell tickets and draw is smart. You make concessions. Bryan and punks tours don't sell as well as a tour headlined by Orton or Cena and melter has outlined that. It's been outlined that they won't let punk dictate terms to them like years ago so e can just walk when you get a bigger draw in Batista for two years locked in to wm of 2016.
