Thoughts On Roman Reigns
Is his push too much for your liking? Have you been impressed with his progress? Think its still too early to crown him as the next big thing? Will he fizzle out when sent on his own? Is he untouchable because of his bloodline?
Personally i think the guy is a great talent, has the size, look, athleticism, and "IT Factor", seems to have a good understanding of the performance aspect, better on the mic than people give him credit for (i remember his "blue chip" angle in NXT and thought it was golden), progressed really fast when you consider the performers they put around him and how he can hold his own with both Seth and Dean for in-ring work. I thought they would need to hide him and his flaws for a lot longer. All 3 are gonna be breakout stars but obviously the powers that be have annointed Reigns as the 2nd coming. what does the board think?

Re: Thoughts On Roman Reigns
I think he has gone from underrated to overrated.
I like what he can do as a fairly big guy. Normally I am not a fan of the guys who look like action figures. Reigns however, is a true athlete. I do fear though, that he is getting too much too soon, and he may not be ready for it. His promo work is for the most part atrocious. He'll likely need some sort of mouth piece until he can handle it himself.
His future is bright though. Wwe needs to learn to slow build. They have no competition so there's really no reason for the pace of their story lines. They botched what should have been an epic feud with the Wyatt's and the Shield. That's why I have so much skepticism with Reigns.
Two side notes: 1, the superman punch is incredibly lame, and 2, I think Rollins has the most potential of all the shield guys.

Re: Thoughts On Roman Reigns
I wouldn't say I find him overrated... but green, absolutely. Very green on the mic and he needs to be carried in the ring right now. I do think he'll become capable, but never a guy who you can pair with anyone and expect a good match. Charisma is a problem, though his lack of natural skill in that area might be amplified since he's been with Ambrose and feuding with Wyatt for a while and they have huge personalities.
He's grown on me. I really like his moveset and his finisher is fantastic and brutal and already mega over.
I also like that he's "big", but he's 2014 big and he's not plodding, kinda delicate on his feet.

Was totally rushed and was put on a PPV that nobody watched. Should have been a mania match after a slow build, and likely would've been an all time mania match with the extra build.

Agreed strongly. He looks like an NFL Defensive End, not some steroid-addled body builder

Re: Thoughts On Roman Reigns
Within the first couple of months I thought he'd become the biggest star of the group, for many of the reasons you said in the OP. Great look, charismatic, has that it factor, better in the ring than I expected at this stage. I know he hasn't had many singles matches and the one vs Bray wasn't great, but it was in front of the worst crowd of the year. I am glad that they put off the break up of the Shield a little while longer at least, not because I don't think he or the other two aren't ready, but because it's been so great being treated to as many really good 6 man tags as we have since The Shield came into existence.

Could be a huge Star in the future. I don't think he's ready for a big Singles push yet. I think they should keep pushing him at his current pace, let him continue to develop his persona.

Re: Thoughts On Roman Reigns
I had never seen these guys prior to their debut and the only name I knew of was Ambrose because of the hype he had before.
When they first debuted I thought this guy has a solid look but will never amount to nothing. Even in his first few months he really didn't stand out. But he slowly got better on the mic. He has the ability for some great delivery and some snarky comments that just come off great. The entire group has drastically improved. They have the ability to become the cool NWO Outsiders with fans.
In terms of Reigns himself, he's simply not ready for the push they were about to give him and I'm glad they've scaled back and kept the group together. I don't like his over the top roided screaming at times, he really doesn't need that. He needs a few added moves in the ring, tone down some of that and in about a year, he'll be ready to make a huge leap.
As for the Shield, at different times, each of them has shown the ability to become great individuals part of the main roster and that's good. Let the team develop more so that fans really care when they break up.

Think Ambrose has lived up to or been allowed to live up to that hype?

Yes and no. Yes, because all three members of the Shield have been as good as advertised and then some. I think all three of them have become three of the best workers in a company. I also say no, though, because I thought Ambrose was going to be the clear cut leader of the Shield and I would've thought by now (based on the hype he had in NXT), that he'd be a main event player. I don't think that's his fault, but more so the direction in which they've put the Shield. I do think that with time, he should be on that level but it sounds like Reigns is going to get the main event push before Ambrose. If you said that a year ago, I think everybody would've been pretty surprised by that.

My thoughts on Ambrose are similar to what Flames24Rulz stated.
I'm actually glad they haven't rushed any of these guys in to the Main Event slot. Sometimes these guys get pushed up too fast (because they're hot) but there's no room for long-term success because WWE always falls back to its mainstays in Cena, Orton and others.
The odd guy, you kind of have to capitalize as quickly as possible. When it comes to the Shield, all three have shown they have potential to be ME players (Rollins more recently has stepped up). So why not build them up slowly. Fans hated them, now they want to see them take down the Authority to an extent. They have the 'cool' factor. They're getting behind them. They're a bit of a rebel group. They come through the crowd which adds something different now as a face group.
I think they should drop the US title from the roster all together. Let Reigns get the IC title, let Ambrose and Rollins work they're way back in the tag title picture. Then when Reigns drops the IC title is when he moves in to the Main Event slot and that's when Ambrose starts to get jealous where you tease the break up and eventually they split but you have a solid feud with Ambrose and Reigns. Rollins moves on to the IC picture.

Re: Thoughts On Roman Reigns
I just wish they could keep them together for years like the Horsemen, but it is what it is. They want Roman to headline WMXXXV and that takes precedence over a throwback stable. OTOH, Ambrose's long-term potential is not babyface, but Roman's is. At the very least, since they can't keep them together, I'm hoping the first main event feud for both Ambrose/Roman is against eachother. Rollins has a high ceiling too, but I think he can go either way.

Being apart of The Shield has been the best heel work that i've seen from Rollins going back to his ROH title run. I didn't really think he had it in him, but I see him being able to hold a much longer heel singles title run than a face title run as far as staying fresh during the run.
i'd love to see them stick together for the long term too, but the powers that be want Roman to be the future and with good reason. So this Shield thing was just to protect him until it was time to let the wings spread IMO.
We'll see how this whole face run goes, but as classic heel as Ambrose can be. I wouldn't be totally thrown off with a Stonecold type face run from Ambrose. Being the character that he is and smark following that he has. If in the right fued it could work. But like i said we'll see how this face run goes first.

I'm on the same side as you though I think if they keep the stable together another 6 months, there's a strong foundation for them to go their ways and reunite at different times. It's not like the Horsemen were together forever either. And they had the beneft of not being in this environment where your so exposed. What was a two year run for them, might equate to 6 months in today's world.
Doesn't make it right and I'm still of the belief that you could operate in the same manner as you did in the 80's if you had the right plan. I actually wouldn't break up the Shield till RR of next year setting up Reigns/Ambrose feud leading in to and past WM.
I'd find a way to get Punk back for a Punk/DB ironman match to headline and Reigns/Ambrose as a secondary big match.
