4am Eastern and saw Hogan trending on Twitter and was like wtf is going on...

[tweet]https://twitter.com/HulkHogan/status/624448337094307840[/tweet]

There is plenty of speculation regarding Hulk Hogan's status in the WWE as of this moment. Hogan's profile as well as references to Hogan have been removed from WWE's official website, his merchandise is gone from WWE Shop, and he's been removed from the Tough Enough website.

Furthermore, it appears WWE has changed Curtis Axel's gimmick back to his original character and dropped the "Axelmania" gimmick that was a parody of Hogan.

We'll keep you updated on this story, but Hogan did tweet the following:

UPDATE: In developing news, it appears as if though WWE Hall of Famer and current Tough Enough judge Hulk Hogan has parted ways with the company. The reason stems from rumors of a tape existing featuring Hogan allegedly going on a racial rant.

While it's unclear if this is the audio in question, here's an interview of Hogan using some racial terms rather liberally, including him talking about the notorious promo Booker T cut on him:

Late Thursday night, WWE completely disassociated from legendary star Hulk Hogan.

Hogan has been removed from the list of Tough Enough judges for the current season, his profile has been removed from nearly every aspect of WWE's website, and his merchandise has been pulled from WWE Shop.

The only remaining direct reference to Hogan is on the roster for WWE's upcoming tour of Australia. Hogan was scheduled to be GM for the three-show tour in August. However, clicking on his biography page now reads: "You are not authorized to access this page."

Hogan sent out a tweet late Thursday night/early Friday morning cryptically referring to a life/career change.

"In the storm I release control,God and his Universe will sail me where he wants me to be,one love. HH," Hogan tweeted.

WWE has yet to release a statement or officially comment on Hogan's status this late at night.

It remains to be seen what prompted such a sudden dissociation from Hogan.

I guess Hulk Hogan got Donald Sterling'd?

Anyways...Vince McMahon should probably have this video removed from youtube as soon as possible.

"THE REASON HULK HOGAN IS GONE FROM WWE, AND HE WON’T BE COMING BACK ANY TIME SOON, IF EVER

By Dave Scherer on 2015-07-24 09:36:34

The National Enquirer has started releasing the reason that led to WWE severing all ties with Hulk Hogan. As it turns out, they are claiming Hogan made numerous racist remarks that were recorded on the sex tape that he did with Heather Clem and is currently suing Gawker.com over. Hogan claims that he did not give authorization for the tape and that Gawker should have not run it as it was personal in nature.

In a joint story that they broke with RadarOnline.com, the Enquirer claims that Hogan made numerous racist remarks on the tape with Clem including:

About his daughter Brooke he is quoted as saying, ”She is making some real bad decisions now. My daughter Brooke jumped sides on me. I spent $2-3 million on her music career, I’ve done everything like a jackass for her. The one option Brooke had, Brooke’s career besides me, is [to] sell beach records."” They claim Hogan was mad because a "black billionaire guy" had offered to fund her music career. They then quoted Hogan as saying, “I don’t know if Brooke was f*****g the black guy’s son. I mean, I don’t have double standards. I mean, I am a racist, to a point, f*****g n*****s. But then when it comes to nice people and s***, and whatever."” They claim he later said, "I mean, I’d rather if she was going to f*** some n*****, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n***** worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player! I guess we’re all a little racist. F*****g n*****.”

They reported that the transcripts were sealed when filed in court, obviously to avoid this situation, but they unearthed a tape, which they cited for their report. They promised more “vile” things from the tape to come later. They really don’t need to release any more to implode Hogan’s career because that has already been done.

There is no way WWE can go near him if this information can be proven. The sides claim to have multiple sources to back it up."

This is the age we live in. Mistakes like that are captured for all posterity. It's a shame, but can't say that Hulk didn't "make his bed" so to speak, and he's got to "pay the piper". At some point, maybe he can come out with a public apology in the hope of eventually getting back with the WWE. Never say never with the WWE.

He'll need to go on a full-fledged racial healing world tour before WWE even thinks about bringing him back.

I don't condone what Hogan said, but I just don't like the fact that this is all coming out 8 years after it was said...I feel like I should be careful saying anything to anyone anymore because they'll probably record me.

Maybe, but this is the "sport" that has Pete Rose in the HOF. Hulk will be back eventually - when it's good for business.

This is so much like the Donald Sterling incident man...

Hogan was just hanging out with Titus O'Neil and Titus kids during the Stanley Cup Finals wearing Lightning jerseys

I've never been the biggest Hogan fan and over the last decade its been revealed that, at best, he was a major phony. And I think I'm at the point now where I think so little of him that nothing he does surprises me. So to Hulk, good riddance

Might as well have a tape recorder present while having a private conversation with Vince McMahon, Ric Flair, Michael Hayes, etc...

It's disappointing that he's not as progressive as he sometimes makes himself out to be, but if you hide a recorder in every person's house I think you'd find that 90% of people have something about themselves they'd rather not let the outside world know about it. I have no idea why anyone would want to be a celebrity in this day and age.

Hulk is the basically the wrestling equivalent to Jordan, Gretzky etc. Basically THE face of wrestling. I'm not or never was a huge fan personally but..this is pretty huge.

That's a good analogy. The difference I would say is that Jordan and Gretzky have largely maintained pristine reputations since there active careers have concluded (Gretzky more so than Jordan, but its largely true for both). But so much negative information has come out about Hogan's life and his kids over the last decade that his image has taken a major hit among the common fans and non-fans. And among sections of the hardcore fan base, he's become a running joke for his rewriting of history and tall tales. Maybe I'm off about this, but I think all of that combined this news isn't as big as it would have been because his image has been eroded to such a degree.

Actually, I'd say that anyone who's lived as long as he has probably has said something that's racist or very offensive at some point in their life. And really, it was 8 years ago, so what is gained from banning him?

Well, it's entirely a PR driven move. By releasing him, they control the story. Instead of "WWE Legend uses racial slur", it becomes "WWE releases legend over racial slur".

It's a bogus sentiment.

That, and he's never been a serious figure. He's the most flamboyant, absurd example of pro wrestling the public knows about. He's so silly, it's impossible to even think of him as a real person. Hulk Hogan Calls Wrestler 'Sambo' is more likely to be believed as the build to a wrestling show than an actual news story.
