I was so disappointed in the lack of creation options that I won't be buying this years copy on a console, I'll wait until they release it on PC. That way I know I'll be able to change certain things that annoy me. I also hope they improved on the MyCareer Mode. Last years started off very fun but become pretty repetitive, pretty quickly.
I'd also encourage any of you that game primarily on PC and love wrestling games to go buy the Pro Wrestling X demo off of steam for $9.99. It's a super early demo and you can't do much but you can tell how the game will play out when finished and I think it'll be great.

in last year's or this year's?
last year i can understand, that was the big turnoff for me as well. with this year having 100 slots I gotta assume its going to be much MUCH better.

Last years. Wasn't just the lack of slots, I hated not being able to add custom music, add new titantron movies, no dlc update with new attire etc... I also hate the game modes they always focus on like the showcases and attitude Era modes. People just want a great story mode and a very customizable gm mode, that's been the biggest complaint since Here Comes the Pain. Although I really didnt have a problem with in ring game play. Hopefully they get the rest of it right this year.

Revenge was definitely the starting point to what most people believe is the best wrestling game ever, WWF Wrestlmania 2000.

I don't think any company is going to go back to that type of gameplay which i personally think is a mistake. It was damn near perfect with the wear down feature and movesets for the created wrestlers. I'd love for today's graphics to combine with that type of gameplay. They keeping trying to reinvent the wheel.

i was following that for a while but never played it. I'd love for them to hookup a deal with a RoH or PWG.
I was a big fan of the concept of the THQ games where they gave you the WCW rosters but then a slew of international stars from other companies and just changed the names up.
Also thought a video game company doing something like that with the Indy's would be a fun idea if they could pull it off.

I haven't played 2K since Daniel Bryan was on the cover (aka since before I got a PS4). Thinking about buying 2K16 but I'll wait and see that the general opinion is after it's been out for a few weeks.
Might just be me expecting too much but I thought that Finn entrance looked kinda clunky, almost slow motion in certain spots. Overall, pretty cool, but I feel like they could improve it.

I'll go with No Mercy as the GOAT wrestling game. Really wish they could somehow get that same engine from the THQ games on the next gen systems. I'd be in heaven.

Pro Wrestling X should be out before the new year, only for PC though. Old THQ engine with next gen graphics, hopefully they nail the story mode.

Yup but with the create-a-wrestler mode and mod community, you'll basically have whatever roster you want.
Eta - there is a group of indie guys working with the devs for movement mapping and there was rumors of having unsigned guys in the game as themselves but that hasn't been mentioned for awhile.

My favorite part about this project is that if you watch some of the interviews with these guys, you can tell how excited they are. They are real wrestling fans that are making a game that they would buy. Free DLC updates, too.

Gameplay video dropped with a Trip Threat featuring KO, Neville, and Shameful errrr Sheamus. Still have that $h!tty pin breakup I wish they would incorporate actual contact from that interaction. Like have a guy actually hit the pinner or grab a leg and yank the guy off (pause cause WTF when I re-read that).
They have however incorporated the ropes as something active in the match. So guys actually grab the ropes for rope breaks now and during this trip threat video Sheamus hits Owens with a clothesline that takes him over the top ropes ala N64 No Mercy kinda goodness.
Babysteps.

First thing I noticed was that clothesline over the top, it looked really good and fluid.

yeah it was. I teared up a little. then he missed like 2 "elbow drops" trying to break up a pin and I was back to giving sideyes again. That table looked pretty $h!tty in the corner as well. However word is the ref is active this time around so what he legit doesn't see he legit doesn't call. I think that could be pretty dope if done correctly.

So, the final roster update is out.
Just a personal gripe of mine, how can there be NO Road Dogg? Given the inclusion of the rest of the modern DX members (Gunn, X-Pac) that's a bit ridiculous.
Surely they'll have to bring him in on DLC or something.
