Feel terrible for Rollins.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has torn his right ACL, MCL and medial meniscus, and will not be able to defend the title against Roman Reigns at Survivor Series. A tournament to determine a new champion will instead take place at the event.

As first reported on Twitter by ESPN, Rollins suffered the injury last night at a WWE Live Event in Dublin, Ireland, and is expected to miss six to nine months of action.

Yeah, I just saw this. Wow, feel terrible for Rollins, and it's also tough luck for WWE too. Randy Orton & John Cena are out as well, though Cena is back next month.

Maybe, Sheamus cashes in at Survivor Series now on winner Roman Reigns? Sets up a Reigns vs. Sheamus feud. Or, they could go with Heel Ambrose vs. Champ Reigns. I don't know.

They could put the belt on Bray Wyatt, but not sure if he'll be a part of the tourney if he's in a program with Taker at Survivor Series.

Rollins screaming at Ambrose he's just Reigns backup and the 3rd wheel of the Shield during the Raw Survivor Series match made me more convinced "Ambrose gets jelly" is going to be a storyline. But Reigns winning the title first may be how that goes down.

Reigns and Owens are almost feuding right now, after the Raw Fatal 4 way, on Smackdown they had a promo together and instead of just making Reigns pin Owens clean they let Owens count himself out to continue their fight another day. Even though the IC title is in the way I wonder if KO could suddenly be a main event player either by stealing the title at Survivor Series (losing IC earlier in the night?) or being the TLC main event opponent. Past KO I'm not sure what options they have for a Roman Reigns feud at TLC. Rusev? Sheamus? ("I have two chances at the belt" etc. etc.)

Brutal news.

At this point I just hope he returns at or close to what he was before the injury. He is a special talent and I hope this injury doesn't force a change in his style and move set.

As for the champ, it will probably be Reigns. I think he was winning anyway at SS.

That's **** terrible. Was hoping this was storyline stuff but then I saw the 6-9 months timetable. Rollins is a great champ and it sucks to have him have to give up the title like this. Wonder how inclined they'll be to have DB come back now.

Awful news. I feel bad for Rollins he was having a really good run with the title. I'd go with Bray Wyatt and Reigns take the title from him at Mania.

Owens just became the biggest heel in the company by default with Rollins out at least six months. He may get his push simply by being in the right place at the right time, which is awesome because I love Owens and he seems like a genuinely good guy, despite being a total jerk on camera (which is why I love him...he's hilarious). He could be a legit title contender now.

Also, it seemed like WWE creative was positioning Owens as a fringe main event guy already. He was in the main event of two Raws in a row and was a featured guy in both of them along with Reigns (and Rollins/Ambrose in the second match). They also have teased feuds with both Reigns and Ambrose along with Rollins "owing him one" down the line. I don't see why they'd include that line at all unless they were possibly planning on having him in the title picture in the future.

And that makes sense. He's one of the best workers they've got right now and is capable of putting on four star matches with the right opponent. He's also one of the best talkers they've got right now, which certainly doesn't hurt his chances. The only thing holding him back is his look, which we all know Vince probably hates. Still, there's a one hundred percent chance that Triple H really wants to push him. He wouldn't have gone through NXT so fast otherwise, and he certainly wouldn't have beaten Cena clean in his first main roster match. I guess it just comes down to how much sway Hunter has.

I'd be excited for KO winning the title or DB's return for the SS Tournament.
I'd be happy with Lesnar coming back and winning the title then dropping it at WM.
I'm expecting Reigns v Ambrose in the SS Tournament finals w/ Reigns winning.
WWE will probably panic and beg Cena to come back early.

Have Reigns against Ambrose in the finals. Have Ambrose within grasp of winning it only for the Authority to screw him over and crown Reigns as their new champ. It's best for business, however predictable it is.

The main problem I see with having Reigns win the tournament is that we quite literally just saw him win a tournament on Raw last week. Having him repeat the same accomplishment would be both boring and entirely too predictable. This is the perfect time for WWE to subvert expectations and go a different direction.

They just need Reigns to go heel somehow. I don't care how they do it, it just makes sense. He would garner so much heat as a heel as well. The crowd would still cheer Ambrose if he were to turn. Plus he's the biggest face on the roster ATM with Cena and DB out.

Possibly, but it could be reminiscent of Rock/Foley at SS in 98

He tore his acl. Which is the same injury that kept Rose out of basketball for 2 years. And Jabari for a full year and a year after his surgery he is on minutes restrictions.

Now think of a high flyer like Rollins with this injury. I doubt he is ever the same. And that 6-9 months timetable is terribly understated.

I hope that for the title reign they go with Owens. He is the best heel right now.

Parker tore his ACL on December 15th, 2014. He was back prior to a year. Presumably he's been involved in basketball activities for at least a month or two at this point. Yeah, he's on a minutes restriction, but he's also a highly-selected sophomore that his team is hoping will be a future star NBA player. They're obviously going to treat him with kid gloves and make sure he's fully healthy before he plays full minutes.

I think you also have to consider that basketball requires a totally different level of athleticism than pro wrestling. That's not to discount wrestling as a fake sport or anything, and there are a lot of crazy athletes in the WWE and other promotions. However, comparing the types of movements in the two is just ridiculous. There's a reason torn ACLs are relatively common in football and basketball but pretty rare in wrestling. Seth only injured himself because he landed awkwardly on a botched move.

Oh, and even bringing up Rose is a fool's errand. He's the exception, not the rule.

Standard return for acl is 9-12 months.

Hoping for Lesnar, Cena and Bryan to return for the tourney but still have either Ambrose or Reigns win it. Would be cool to see. You know wwe and calling all the big guns they can right now. Survivor Series could be shaping up pretty nicely.

The replays of that are tough to watch. When he comes back, it'll be hard for me not to think of them, so I can't imagine how hard it'll be for him. So even if he comes back in the 9-12 months, I gotta wonder if he'll be the same in-ring performer.

If I was running things, I'd use this opportunity - with so many stars out - to up Cesaro into the top echelon and make him champ. He's ready, imo, and he's got untapped skills with the mike. I don't think he even needs a manager - It didn't really help him when he's had one. Zeb Colter didn't help him, and they botched the deal with Heyman taking him on and then being totally ignored when Lesnar signed.

Obviously will not happen but just imagine Cesaro v Ziggler in the tourney final for the belt..would be amazing.

Just saw the video of Rollins' injury. Pretty amazing what these people put their bodies through. He clearly did the damage on the flip attempt and even after, he pulled himself up and still managed to powerbomb Kane off the top rope with a destroyed knee.

Yeah...contrast that with the average professional football or basketball player who falls down screaming and it makes Rollins look like a total badass. He shredded his knee and then got back up and picked up a 300 pound guy and powerbombed him.
