Normally I'm amped for the specials but this one lacks juice. Even Nakamura/Roode seems a little meh, which is crazy considering those are the two biggest stars in NXT. The DIY match is destined to be a letdown. I'm ok with AOP. They're old school power dudes. It's just after the classic with the revival a classic David v Goliath baby/heel match will seem a bit blah.

Yeah, not much to get too excited about just looking at this card on paper. I'm guessing Tye and Samoa Joe debut in the Rumble the next night and that will probably be the most exciting NXT related thing to happen that weekend.

they had a weird build to this, mainly cause they took like a month off from building a story cause of the japan/austrailian tour.
still tho, i'll be there and cant wait to hear the entrances for Nak/Roode

I'm surprised that were not getting an official debut from Tommy End or Damo or any of the other newer recruits.
Even with the lack of a good build for Roode v Nakamura, I'm still super excited for that match. Their entrances should be great, too.

Damo debuted already, they just haven't made a huge deal about it. He's been on at least 3 episodes of NXT tv that I can think of. I think they're planning something big for Tommy End, or Aleister Black as they've changed his name.

Yeah, I've seen those. End pretty much debuted during the UK tourney as well. I was thinking more along the lines of when people like Nakamura, KO, Roode and Aires (although I think Aires debuted a week before Takeover) would debut at a PPV and it made it feel special. Maybe Hero will get a match at Takeover, I don't think he's had a tapped match yet since his return.

I think Tommy End might be a little different a case. They had him wrestle Neville at the UK tourney but they used the name Tommy End because he was someone that crowd would pop for. With them keeping him off NXT tv and changing his name I think they have a more "official" debut for Aleister Black in the works. I just don't see them randomly throwing him on an episode of NXT tv with no build, the way they did for Damo. Pretty sure Damo was thrust into that spot in Sanity more out of a need to fill the spot Fulton left when he got injured. I am not usually a huge fan of changing the name of established guys, but the Aleister Black name is pretty awesome (also fits End's personality and background).

Hero will probably formally debut at the Takeover before 'Mania. It seems he's still finishing up his indie commitments right now, so they likely don't want to make him a mainstay of NXT programming until he makes it through all of those dates healthy.

Odds Seth shows up on Takeover to attack HHH? Makes a lot of sense

I'm not sure how much I like storylines from the main roster, crossing over into NXT. HHH is pretty much the god of NXT and beloved by their fans & talent. You'd think the entire locker room would run to his defense. Maybe I see it wrong but the character you get on camera in NXT by HHH is far different than the one he plays on Monday Nights.

Yeah, Roderick is as generic as they come. He'd last 5 minutes on the main roster
