Reigns is clearly better than the rock in ring and had more of an it factor. The rock was always overrated imo growing up. The only think the rock has is the mic game. Change my mind!

Why would I want to? That's clearly your opinion. You can say the Rock was overrated, that's awesome. I think Roman is overrated with how much he gets pushed and with how much people push him away. I think the Rock was much better in the ring and knew how to play to the crowd and really work them over, both as a face or a heel. Roman can... Sometimes. When he's working with someone the crowd hates even less but that's just my opinion. I can tell you I've been much more entertained by the Rock's matches than I ever have with Roman. He gets stale to quick early in matches and it kind of loses me.

Reigns is like the Rock if you sapped away his charisma and ring psychology.

In ring, probably (though i think Roman has regressed).

Thing is, the Rock was so charismatic and so good on the mic that he honestly may have been one of the best ever (the way he could capture a crowd, only Stone Cold, CM Punk during the summer of Punk or Hogan at his peak could do that).

Roman on the other hand is outright bad on the mic and whilst he certainly does have charisma, it sure as hell isn't conveyed.

Roman's best promo ever was literally 5 words.

There is literally not a single thing that Reigns does better than The Rock, IMO, and it's an insanely unfair comparison for Reigns.

Reigns is a better athlete and can do more things inside a ring than the Rock. Problem is, the rock could make the crowd care 10x more about a wristlock than basically anything Roman can do. Psychology matters, and I'm not even gonna broach the subject of promos and charisma. You know that's like a pop warner team vs the super bowl champs.

Yea, the Rocks matches he was able to tell a good story. Kind of a lot like John Cena. Those guys can tell good stories. I pointed out in the best matches thread (which would be nice to get some participation in BTW guys), I listed Cena vs batista as one of my favorites. If you actually were watching the match live and not going by the stereotype that those 2 can't wrestle, you would've seen they told a great story. Back and forth, Edge of your seat match.

As for Roman reigns, the song lyrics on YouTube sums up his entire matches: "he's gonna spear you, he's gonna Punch you, he's gonna spear you, he's gonna Punch you"

Cena has gotten crapped on by the marks for his work rate for over a decade. Last year during the Cena vs reigns feud, you can clearly see the marks respected Cena for his work 1000% more than reigns

Rock was the best entertainer the WWWF/WWF/WWE has ever had. Ever is a long time. It's not fair to compare Reigns to him. And as good as Cena's consistently been, he's never been as good as Rock. I saw the Rock start out in USWA, and he was NOT good, and he started out in the WWE similarly not good. Roman still has time to improve.

When Roman first debuted I liked him I thought he had an amazing look I didn't know much about him as
I never watched FCW. I thought he was good as a brawler and had some decent matches early on. I thought
the lack of mic skills worked for his character and he would grow into them over time. I've never hated him like
so many other fans do but at this point I could careless about him. Some of it is not his fault as he still comes
out to Shield music and still wears Shield attire yeah its ok now since the group is back together again but it
didn't when Seth and Dean changed their look and music as their characters evolved. Another thing about Reigns
promos is there is no difference between angry Roman, Happy Roman, Sad Roman etc. The only time someone
has got anything out of him is John Cena when they were doing worked shoots. Speaking of Cena Reigns is
following the same fate where Vinces complacency is affecting him as Vince never turned him heel and he
had the same attire and same music almost his entire career. In the ring Reigns hasn't progressed much with
a limited moveset and his psychology hasn't really impressed much. The last few years Reigns has had some of
the worst matches on the card whether it was vs. HHH at WM or vs. Jinder a few months back just to name a few.

As for the Rock I was one of those Die Rocky Die guys when he was Rocky Miavia. I thought he was one of the worst
wrestlers I've ever seen and would cringe when JR would gush over what a Blue Chipper he was and how great he was.
He then totally aced "The Rock" persona gimmick and while in the ring he wasn't that great he did the sloppiest sharp
shooter ever and threw bad punches and kicks and I don't think he can even do a drop kick but just like Hogan his in ring
psychology is off the charts and like Hogan he always delivers in big money matches. It just goes to show you that
you don't have to be a spot monkey or world class technician or Indy Darling to be a massive star.

That's too cynical. Any professional is going to want to improve - especially when his company shows confidence in him. And I expect he'd very much prefer that crowds cheer him rather than have the smarks boo the crap out of him. Presumably, improving would be appreciated and cheered, but maybe that's not the case.

There could be a lot of reasons - including what getting booed every day and ripped on the internet every day does to his confidence and state of mind.

If only it weren't just smarks. The casuals have been booing him for years as well (I mean even during Superman Cena, he at least had the kids and women and the casuals on his side).

Cena was amazing in his ability to not just handle that but thrive on it - I expect there are very few capable of handlling the sort of unwanted heat like he did. Reigns just doesn't have that kind of ability.
