Favorite (or non-favorite) Entrance Music

Post#1 » by Dominator83 » Thu Sep 27, 2018 12:19 am

I dont see a thread about Entrance Music so figured lets get a fresh discussion going to get our minds off the product!! What are some of your favs, what are some of your not-so favs, do you prefer vocals or no vocals?

I'll start by saying that nWo main theme has gotta be the GOAT or very close to it. Never gets old. Also for old school, i also really liked Mr. Perfects theme. Hell, i even kinda liked Mr. Perfect mixed with Ryback during the Rybaxel tag team, lol. The Demolition theme was great.

Some songs I thought were good with no vocals, but then they felt the need to add vocals, like Batista's before they added Saliva. I also like HHH's pre-vocals version of "its my time now" from 99-2000 ish. Another no vocals one I like is the Bludgeon brothers one. Cactus Jacks WWF theme (funny note, that was used in a Porn), and several years ago on ESPNs "baseball tonight', they actually occasionally used the Hardys theme for some game highlights. Like Samoa Joes, Lars sullivans, Nakamura both old and new.

Edge's last theme i really liked, loved Dolph Ziggler's "I am perfection", which they should've never got rid of. Ditto for Zach Ryders "Oh radio". Drew Mcintyre's "Broken Dreams" was great, but understand why they no longer use it as it doesn't fit his character anymore.

Even though ECW just used non-wrestling themes unlicensed, "Enter Sandman" for the Sandman was epic, as was Tommy Dreamer using "man in the box". Sabu's theme was great too, which might actually not be stolen  The ECW main theme was awesome too

Liked Goldbergs WCW one. have no idea why WWE modified it during his 1st run there, but glad they bought back the original last year.

The worst ever in my book, the big shows. its probably not even close. Ciampa's new NXT music ain't bad, but i liked it way better when they had him coming out to no music. It just fit his character perfectly.

Whats your guys picks?

Brie Mode has to be the worst entrance theme ever.

Old School: Fabulous Freebirds: Bad Street, Midnight Express, Triple H: My Time (Stephanie then used), all the 4 horsemen/Arn Anderson ones, Sting Crow, Steiner Brothers, EC3's TNA theme Trouble, Wolfpac

Guilty Pleasure: Buff is the Stuff

Recent/Current: AJ Styles: They Don't Want None, jack Swagger: We The People, Revival's Theme

More old schools:

Eddie Gilbert with Hot Stuff
Superstar Graham in WCW with Bad to the Bone
Dusty Rhodes as the Midnight Rider with... Midnight Rider

ECW:
Public Enemy with Here Comes the Hotstepper
Tommy Dreamer with Man in the Box
Sandman with... Enter Sandman

All 3 of those ECW combos worked to perfection.

Music combined with entrance: Gangrel/The Brood

The flaming platform was badass and the music suited it perfectly.

Agree with Triple H's "My Time". Also soft spots for Sami Zayn's singalong ska, and Steve Blackman's all-percussion intro.

(Another long lost favourite music/entrance: when Paul Burchill was a pirate. It was so bloody ridiculous I couldn't help like it.)

I'm sure I've forgotten most of the truly terrible ones (most are just generic), but I never liked Big Show's (um...you guys probably could have put a *little* more effort into the lyrics).

I liked Paige's music and entrance. Loved ziggs when he didn't have any music at all. That could have been epic had they stuck with it. Allestair blacks theme is wicked. Most of NXT really

Old school, Ted dibiases's money song was great. Awwww so many really. I have a soft spot for them all

Speaking of ECW, how the heck can I forget New Jack: Natural Born Killaz. Loved the way they played the song throughout the entire match. Of course it wasn't licensed, so WWE network dubs over it with that generic "in the ghetto" song

The Gangstaz with Natural Born Killas, i mean who else wrestled a match with their theme music in the background.

Liked Rhyno's theme a lot, Sandman's theme (watching old ECW matches, the crowd used to pop huge for it). Actually preferred RVD's WWE theme in all honesty.

From WWE, Christian's at last theme as well as the waterproof blonde version (his return theme was rubbish).
Edge with his Rob Zombie theme and Mettalingus.
Batista's theme was great
HHH my time.
Ryback's theme, especially early on, you knew when that came on it was time.
Wade Barrett's 1st theme (you know, the one where we thought he'd be the next big time wrestler, before Cena promptly buried him). McIntyre's 'broken dreams' theme (which he needs to go back to, it just screams world champion).
I'm not really a fan of Taker's classic theme, i prefer the 'darkside' version (that riff). Classic Kane also
Dan Severn and then Doctor Death's theme
Mark Henry's theme (would be near the top if i had a list)

Jericho's theme has stood the test of time i think. I'd put Minoru Suzuki in the same category, both of them have been coming out to the same theme for years. Would be easy to put Classic NWO on here, but honestly i much prefer the Wolfpac theme

Some more unknown ones, Ezekiel Jackson's domination (which would have fit Bobby Lashley perfectly, like absolutely perfectly), Brodus Clay's first theme ('rip it up') also Maven's theme was really good, Gangrel/Brood's theme.

From other promotions, Nakamura's Subconcious, EVIL's theme, Samoa Joe's Nation of Violence theme (his WWE theme is good, but his TNA theme, basically you knew someone was going to die), Marty Scurll's bloody Beetroots/steve aoki entrance (i'm in the minority on that one i think), Beer Money's theme, Pete Dunne's indy theme (B.M.T.H - Can you feel my heart), Trent Severn (though using 7 nation army is just easy), Jeff Cobb.

Not really their current themes but Daniel Bryan (well Bryan Danielson i guess) using Final Countdown, Austin Aries with Personal Jesus,

I was trying to think of some CFO$ themes, the main roster guys got screwed cause Asuka, Bobby Roode, Alestair Black, Nakamura and Aj Style's theme (though even that, his New Japan theme, that's final boss music), Enzo Amore & Big Cass where good meanwhile the main roster got generic stuff (well at that time) now its improved but you can tell who came through NXT and who didn't just by the themes.

yeah it is a remixed version of the brawl for all theme (which got used by Bart Gunn for a bit afterwards). That was a very good theme (even if the tournament was a disaster).

While we're on the subject of remixes, I actually loved William rentals theme when they recycled the undertakers old music.

Back in the good old days of get together for every ppv, one of my buddies pointed out after a mideon/Viscera match, that their music was a modification of the instrumentals from demolitions theme. Admittedly, I never noticed until that was pointed out to me.

The most obvious was Val Venus getting Rick Martels theme

The music that Kurt Angle has had his entire WWF/E career, was used for the Patriot Del Wilkes a couple years prior to Kurts arrival

Been thinking about this for awhile and honestly I don't know what's tougher picking my favorite number 1 song
of all-time or picking my top 25 of all-time.

I've got hundreds of wrestling songs on my Ipod so many of them make for great workout songs at the gym

It might be a good topic to list your favorite wrestling entrance music for working out. There's some overlap, but a lot of my favorites on this thread would not be good for working out, and some that wouldn't make this thread would be good workout music.

The last couple months I've been getting my rasslin' fix watching PPVs in order starting from '97 and Im currently ending 2000, so I've got that time frame on the mind, but without thinking much about it I think this D'lo one would be my favorite.

"Gonna kick your sorry ass out on the street"

One that i really wasn't a fan of from that same time frame was the old T & A entrance music, very generic, nothing to it.

for something newer and with the topic of workout music, I really liked the Bullet Club's old entrance music, and used to listen to it back when I had the energy to work out :)

Yeah been using themes for working out as well, although I might derail the thread. On top of my head:

- Rollins' before the one with burn it down
- Balor's
- Brock's
- Hardys'
- Edge's

Non-faves that I think didn't fit the character:

- Nia Jax's. I mean, c'mon, that vocals ain't intimidating for her. Especially when she debuted and was in NXT when she does the fist clench, punching thing and the camera is zoomed to her eyes.

Some faves:
- Just Close Your Eyes by Story of the Year (Christian)
- Metalingus by Alter Bridge (Edge)
- Cult of Personality by Living Color (CM Punk)
- The Shield's Theme before Reigns made it his smh
- Austin's man. Once the glass shatters, it's all business.
- Viva La Raza (missing you Eddie :( )
- Chris Benoit's
- King of Kings by Motorhead
- I Walk Alone by Saliva
- No More Words!

- The Iconics' and Paige's get a special mention. Whenever I hear those themes I just get...
