*SPOILERS* WWE Smackdown Taping Results from 7/4/08

WWE Smackdown tapings
They opened with a brief history of the "home of the brave" for Fourth of July with Triple H as "the brave."
This led to MVP with Triple H in a in a very funny MVP Player's Lounge segment. Vicky Guerrero came out to inform Hunter that he will face Edge at the Great American Bash pay-per-view.
1. Michelle McCool won a star on a pole match. Michelle McCool won the match and will face Natalya in a match to determine the first WWE Divas Champion.
Vicky punished Edge's backups with tag match against Festus & Jesse.
2. Jesse and Festus defeated Zach Ryder and Curt Hawkins. Good match. Festus pinned one of Edge's flunkies. Edge came out and took out his frustration on Festus with his belt and a chair.
3. Jeff Hardy beat John Morrison. Hardy debuted back on Smackdown with and okay match. Very little was good tonight. It was all very phoned in. This match was nothing special at all.
4. Umaga defeated Funaki in a squash match.
Edge and Vickie had a fight. She said he was stupid to go to Raw and did not have her permission. Edge was irate.
5. Matt Hardy defeated Mr. Kennedy and Chavo Guerrero and Shelton Benjamin in a Fourth of July Fatal Four-way to retain the U.S. Title. Good nine minute match with Hardy getting the win.
Edge came back out. He ranted and raved that no one is helping him. Vickie came out and Edge said the wedding is off, and that was it. No main event. Very poor outing.
Dark Match Main Event
1. Triple H & Big Show defeated Henry & Edge. Hunter scored the quick pin on Henry after Edge walked away. He was never in the match and was wearing street clothes.
