Dark Match
1. New Guy beat Kung Fu Naki in a competitive five minute match. I didn't catch the guys name over the crowd (he had really good heat, but that may have just been because he was the first heel out), but he was British. His full length black ring jacket with a British flag on it told me so.
Smackdown Tapings
Opening was a huge fireworks and confetti celebration for Jeff Hardy's title win. He talked a bit and Edge came out and said that it was Edge vs. Matt Hardy, and Jeff vs. Vladimir Koslov for later in the show.
1. R-Truth and Hurricane Helms beat Shelton Benjamin and MVP. MVP took the loss from Hurricane when Hurricane used a new finisher I hadn't seen him use before. It reminded me of the vertebraker, but inverted.
2. John Morrison (w/Miz) beat Festus (w/Jesse). Morrison won with the Moonlight Drive after Miz fought with Jesse on the outside. Jesse had the bell the whole match and tried to hit Miz with it, Miz ducks and the bell smacks the ring post and Festus goes out.
2. Edge beat Matt Hardy. Edge won with the spear. A decent match that saw one too many armbars for my taste. Hope they edit one or two of those suckers out.
3. Ezekiel Jackson (w/Brian Kendrick) beat Carlito (w/Primo). Not quite a squash but close. Big Zeke won with a Sambo Suplex.
4. Maryse beat Maria to earn a future Diva's Title shot. Michelle McCool was at ringside. Post-match, Maryse got in McCool's face and then nearly tripped over the ring steps as she backed away from her.
5. Jeff Hardy beat Vladamir Kozlov by DQ. Hardy won when Edge ran out and attacked Hardy. Decent match. Post-match, Edge and Koslov double teamed Hardy. Triple H was shown on the big screen. Edge got ready for him and just a minute later his music hit and he stormed the ring. Triple H got the sledge hammer and cleared Koslov. Edge took a Swanton. HHH and Hardy had a staredown to end the show.
Dark Match Main Event
1. Undertaker beat Big Show in a Cage Match via submission. When Smackdown was over, we were not sure we would get the cage match as there was no cage hanging from the ceiling. That could have been because there really wasn't any room up top, or maybe so you didn't see a cage on ECW and SD and wonder why it was there.
This was pretty much the same match that aired on Smackdown two weeks ago. Same finish but a bit shorter and there were no real teases of escape. The reason for that is they were using the old cage with eight parts (two connected on each side of the ring by a post in the middle), and it wasn't nearly as sturdy as the new cage (four solid parts connected at the corners).
