Jeff Hardy gone????

Post#1 » by magic1636 » Mon Apr 20, 2009 10:53 pm

Hardy has supposedly given his notice. His contract is up in three months and he says he is burned out.

Have heard about this. If this winds up being the case, Smackdown already has a dearth of main event level faces and this only makes it worse. If Sunday is indeed Hardy's last match, then Smackdown's top faces are Punk, Mysterio and Undertaker(who isn't really a full time wrestler)

I expect him to do a Jericho.

Hardy is only 31. A 6 month to a year layoff will only lenghten his career.

I don't think that's the best analogy as I don't think it was Jericho's intent to come back but once the music thing didn't work out, this was his next best option.

With Jeff, I'm guessing he'll take 6 months or a year and then come back.

The last thing I had read about the Hardy situation was that he was telling his friends he plans on re-signing with WWE but he wants a similar schedule that Undertaker has. I personally don't see Vince giving Hardy that kind of deal, so at this point it's still a toss up. After his contract is up and if he isn't re-signed I think he goes back to TNA.

He's already done this before so I'm not surprised. Smackdown! definitely has to develop more baby faces at some point soon.

i do think that wwe would give jeff that type schedule vince knows that jeff hardy makes wwe lost of money and thats what vince wants and haveing jeff only work certain dates means jeff will only be seen every so often meaning the demand to see him goes up so when he dose wrestle and appear on a show it will get biger rateings and more live gate sales, i think it could be a smart move, and at some point jeff will be ready for a full work load again

Giving Jeff Hardy an Undertaker-like schedule is asking for major locker room problems. Undertaker and HBK can get that schedule because their universally respected and admired and their old. Jeff is none of those things and I don't think Vince can afford to give him that type of schedule.

he may not be as respected as undertaker or HBK but he is one of the vetrans in that locker room and shuld have all of the young wrestlers respect so the locker room problom shouldnt be that big of deal

Longevity doesn't always equal respect. Just because Jeff has been with the company, on and off, for 10 years doesn't mean people respect him. They respect HBK and Taker not because of the years they've been with the company but because no one questions their commitment and desire, two things that are definitely in question with jeff.

in something like wrestling longevity dose give you some respect since many wrestlers do not last long in there wwe runs or there careers at all, and with the things jeff has done to his body him lasting this long dose add even more respect for him,, jeff may not have the desire of some guys but he has been wrestling non stop since he was 16 at some point it starts to burn you out, and also we do not know the disre of every one in the locker room

Some respect sure, but in order to get the schedule he's got you've got to be universally respected ala Taker or HBK. In terms of the things he does to his body, that's all fine and good, but he's also gotten suspended multiple times and now there's rumblings about him leaving. Whether or not Jeff should get this type of schedule is irrelevant, but I have to believe a lot of the guys in the back don't think he should.

But he's also very cognicent that something like this could alienate exactly the guys he can't afford to alienate.

Very few seem to know the real story. I think many expect that he'll lose to Punk at SS and he'll be gone after that.
