Could this be a Wolpack Round 2??????

So this news is kinda big. I think the next year is make or break for TNA. They just stole away one of the best wrestlers in the world from WWE in Nigel McGuinness and now they get the most famous man in wrestling this side of The Rock. Bischoff is apparently coming with him and there are a beavy of rumors about who could be coming soon. Ric Flair's name has popped up once again due to him and Hogan's impeding tour of Australia. Mr. Kennedy's name has been floating around basically since his 90 day no compete clause expired. Goldberg's name has popped up as has RVD's.

The MEM angle has essentially come to an end with Booker leaving and Angle turning face. And it has to be considered a failure. They got a couple guys kinda over towards the end but overall it didn't do anything to ratings and it hasn't fundamentally changed the company's position.

If a year from now I'm repeating that statement TNA will have firmly established itself as the minor leagues.

I don't see how he can help much at this point in his career.

One of my favorite shows on TV is How I Met Your Mother. After season 2 HIMYM was nearly cancelled and many thought season 3 would be its last as the writers wrote the show in the event this happened, also in season 3 the show brought in Britney Spears for what a blatant ploy for ratings. Except it worked and the people who came to watch her stayed an HIMYM now shows no signs of slowing down.

That's what Hogan could bring. In TNA's eyes, the people that come to see Hogan will stay to see Syles, Samoa Joe, etc etc

I'll watch. So yeah, this publicity stunt works for me.

Hogan is a draw plain and simple many will watch just to see what happens and it could draw in old fans becuase hogans back in the news, its a good move for TNA at this point and hopefully bishoff can help them

Actual wrestling fans are not going to want to see him in the title scene though. A feud with a young guy is a waste, even if they're being put over. I doubt he can even wrestle anymore. It's going to be all punches.

Couldn't this make TNA look like a joke to those people who decided to tune in for Hogan? Might alienate the current fans too.

But I will in fact tune in. If they're looking for short term rating, they've got them. I just don't know about the long term.

Hogan never was the best woker but hes hulk f'n hogan he will get the fans to watch just like he did with wcw and guys like AJ Old man danlies the machine guns all the young guys doing all the flashy high spots will keep the fans tunneing in to see hogan and TNA will also have all these other big names they remember to keep em watching

I remember a Wrestlemania match a few years ago where Hogan had a problem just getting his foot high in the air so I don't think he can wrestle anymore. I just hope they don't try anything similar to the NWO angle. They'll look like a league that copies other leagues if it looks too similar and it'll do a lot more to hurt their ratings rather than help I would think.

They didnt steal away Mcguinnes they pretty much let him walk, plus they got the American Dragon whos just as good if not better.

Plus Kennedy is a WWE has been, they let him go (I was a huge fan of Kennedys)

RVD would be cool but Goldberg and Flair are old names, I would rather just see them to continue and develop Matt Morgan and Hernandez etc.

I think in the end adding Hogan will do nothing for TNA, itll be fun to watch at first but in the end I just hope they dont destroy Morgan/Wolfe/and Hernandezs chances of making it...

I dont think you guys understand that Hogan cant wrestle anymore, the only wrestler who could have a match that mattered or even a watchable match with him is Angle and he would probably hurt himself while carrying Hulk through the match.

WWE was interested in him and had a verbal agreement on a contract. There was some foot dragging on WWE's part I believe due to some concerns from a physical and TNA came in and got him. I'd say my description is more accurate than yours.

Pushing Hernandez and Morgan is great, but that's not going to improve ratings. They need something or someone to come in and spark interest in the company. That's what Hogan brings, I'm sure if you asked Dixie Carter what she wants out of this deal, she'd say many fans come to watch Hogan but stay to watch Styles, Joe, Morgan, etc.

If WWE wanted him they would have him, Im happy they didnt get him because they would ruin him just watch how they ruin Danielson.

And I agree with everything you said on Hogan but In my opinion in the end it will do nothing for TNAs ratings, it will help with the initial ratings but after a month nobody will care again...

They did want him, they offered him a contract. How much they wanted him is certainly up for debate, but there was very clear interest. I actually think he would've gotten pushed in WWE in a way Danielson won't. McGuinness is a little better on the mic, generates natural heel heat very easily and is bigger.

With Hogan, thats a gamble TNA should take because what they've been doing isn't working.

Ok Im sorry I thought they passed on him but Im happy hes on TNA because he has been very impressive so far. Im looking forward to his match with Angle.

I have a feeling WWE will do the same thing they did with Lance Storm with Danielson but time will tell.
