Sheamus?? REALLY??

Sorry to steal from The Miz, but REALLY!?!? SHEAMUS!? REALLY???????? You've got to be kidding me. There has to be some other angle they're going with this. I refuse to believe that Vince McMahon is stupid enough to try and put over this lame ass character. I feel like Vince is playing a joke on the fans with this crap.

It's not Orton or DX so I'm definitely not going to complain. But it is an odd choice, for sure.

I definitely like that they're giving a shot to someone new, but of everyone on the roster to go with a guy who basically gets ZERO crowd reaction makes no sense at all to me. I was sitting there watching Raw just waiting for the punch line, but it never came. The guy has been on Raw for like a month, and his buzz is that he "retired Jamie Noble"? I'm freakin stumped.

I'm willing to go along with it. I just hope they try and develop the feud and not just have Cena squash him in one ppv match and that's it, like he did with Miz.

I knew he was gonna win. You knew a heel was gonna win, Orton is feuding with Kofi, and they don't seem to want to split up Legacy yet. That left Sheamus.
What I thought was more inexplicable was the Punk-Cena match. This is one of the few matches WWE has yet to do and if they feud I'm sure it'll be solid but they blew an opportunity.

I like Sheamus. It's a shame that the gimmick is lame with him being Celtic and he's awful on the mic. If they had just built him up as just a huge powerhouse with a real name like Lesnar and Batista, he'd be over huge. Because he really does have an awesome look and he's not a total stiff.
But man, Vince and Jesse on commentary was classic. So much nostalgia watching that. I love when WWE does throwbacks like that.

Jon Jones, er I mean Mike Knox, er I mean Prince Albert, er I mean the Great Khali, er I mean Heidenreich, er I mean Vladimir Kozlov, er I mean Matt Morgan, er I mean (insert any other large, boring and crappy mic worker the WWE employs), er I mean Sheamus doesn't deserve this push. MVP or Swagger should have had this shot. Not Sheamus. What a joke.

I don't mind a little surprise and have someone new to get a nice push as long that person gets build up. Which I have a problem with this choice I have no hate with Sheamus I actually think he is a decenter worker even though his personality kinda bored me.
But he just moved to RAW he beat some jobbers then he take out Jamie Noble and then kick Jerry Lawler out weeks later. Suddenly he won the battle royal and get a title shot? Talk about getting a big push really fast.
It might be worth while but things could fall apart for him. He wasn't build up I think it's a little to quick to push him right away and get a title shot just like that I rather have him build up first I mean look at Umaga back in WWE. He was build up beating jobbers and some tough names and then later he gets a title shot now if Sheamus was build up like Umaga then that is different.
But in my opinion I think it's to quick to give him this kind of push right now I rather have Jack Swagger(He at least kinda build up.) or the Miz to be next in line.

He hasnt showed much more than them has he? He has what? one move? And the rest consist of him kicking and punching people?
His mic skills speak for themselves.

Im not a big fan of putting Sheamus in a PPV title match so quick. Like everyone else has said, he just got moved to over to raw from ecw, and he is already at main event status? I don't know about you guys but, I would have kept him at the mid-card until maybe the Royal Rumble. Atleast by then it gives them enough time to build the character. After the Rumble (which he comes close to winning), he then gets booked into the Elimination Chamber match and then he gets the win. I figure atleast by then he will be ready to main event a PPV for the title. But that's just me.

That plan sounds a lot better than what they did.
In regards to him getting a shot so quickly, I am actually sitting here watching the Randy "Macho Man" Savage dvd set, and he got a pretty quick push too. He debuted in 1985 in the WWF, and within 5 months he got a shot at Hogan for the belt at MSG. He actually won the match via a count-out. The difference between Savage and Sheamus though, is that Savage was AWESOME at working the crowd and had more charisma in his pinky toe than Sheamus will ever have.

Yeah, there's no comparison.
I wonder how long they've had this planned.
