WWE HOF
Does anyone take the WWE hall of fame seriously? I have no idea how the voting is done but how do people like Koko B Ware and the women they announced last week (Jake Roberts sister I think) make it in before wrestlers like the Macho Man/Ultimate Warrior/Owen Hart/Yokozuna or even Jake the Snake just to name a few???
Second how does Koko B Ware even make the hall of fame??? I loved Koko but putting him in would be like the NBA putting Ghorge Muhresan in the NBA Hall...

Re: WWE HOF
I assume because they induct so many each year, they don't want to blow their load all at once. They probably just want a couple key guys in per year, so we don't get years where Koko B Ware type wrestlers are legitimately the best ones left.

Re: WWE HOF
First of there is no real commite guys like Jim ross mike hayes and some guys like that get a say in it but it all comes down to vince mcmahon
also the person who is inducted needs to be at the hall of fame or family members in case they have died
for instance warrior was going to go in this year, he said he would be there but then decided not to so he will not be put in this year
I love the hall of fame, some guys arnt as deserveing as others but its still fun to see who gose in and to pay respect to the past, and i think many wrestler take it as a big honer to be put in the wwe hall of fame

I think it's pretty much guys that have made an impact sometime in the careers one way or another. I'm pretty sure it's safe to say we wouldn't see The Goon or Duke The Dumpster in the HOF.

I don't care enough to get really worked up about this. But, the reason many criticize the WWE HOF is that there's no objective basis on how these guys are chosen. Ricky went through a list of guys who aren't in it while much lesser names are. The perfect example though is Benoit. This is a guy who was so great in the ring and who had such a profound impact on the wrestling world. Yet, he's never going to make it because of the tragic way his life ended.

That's a one of a kind example though.
Personally, I wouldn't put him in if I were in charge of things. They have to show that tribute video on RAW, and through the entire thing everyone would be thinking 'damn, they guy killed his wife and son'. Then you've got to have someone induct him during the ceremony, which would send out a real weird vibe. I get that his brain was that of a 75 year old Alzheimer's patient, but at the same time, he killed his wife and son.

Re: WWE HOF
puting benoit in the hall of fame cannot and will not happen
its a horrid horrid move for any company, i dont care how good someone was at your job, if you killing your family your wrestling career is out the window every acomplishment everything will be gone, its smart of wwe to distance them selfs from it, puting him in the hall of fame is a bad idea on many levels

And that's fine, but if you want this to have some sort of legitimacy you don't put in guys who had 1/10 the career he did. Like I said I really don't care that much and I view it as just some pre-WM lovefest and I'm fine with them picking these guys. But if the goal is to honor those whose impact on this industry was greatest, then you're going to have to change from what seems to be very subjective criteria.

I know they dont want to waste all the big names at once and they dont want to induct a lot of dead "steroids" wrestlers all at once so that is prob why some lesser names wrestlers get in. I guess in time all of the big names will get in...

But that's why its not a legitimate hall of fame. The fact that you can credibly say "i don't care how good someone was at your job" signifies that. When an athlete is being considered for the HOF, they should never have there accomplishments thrown out for what they did outside that career.

I think the Benoit story is a touchy one. The man killed himself and his family, but you have guys like Hennig and Guerrero who in ways killed themselves by abusing drugs. But I agree that it sucks that he will never get recognized for his accomplishments.

Re: WWE HOF
Me personally I love the HOF, I kinda agree with Tricky Ricky that guys that have had better careers then others should get in first. But besides spreading the talent in classes, the problem also is getting the Hall of Famer to agree to get inducted. McMahon has issues with Savage at the momment so I dunno if thats going to blow over...I was surprised that Warrior was rumoured and almost accepted the invitation. I honestly think when Vince steps down or dies...which ever comes first, then you'll see guys that Vince couldn't get into the HOF in the HOF.

He got drafted pretty high in our draft, so he has that.

Yeah thats true he did get drafted high. I wonder if Vince didn't have the media and everybody else breathing down his neck, if he would feel differently about putting a guy like Benoit in the HOF after what he did. I think they also were saying there were problems found from his brain that it was similiar to an 80 year olds.

One person I was hoping that would get inducted this year was Owen. Especially with Bret signed on, who else better to induct and accept that honour.

Yes, he had the brain of a 75 year old Alzheimer's patient. But still, he killed his wife and son. The WWE is wise to not glorify someone who could do that, even if he wasn't all there mentally.

i may be wrong but i rembere reading something where owens wife has to give the ok for him to be put in the hall of fame or any other wwe games or things like that, and she hates wwe with a passion and will not let it happen
