Blazers Waive Brandon Williams, Devontae Cacok and Wes Iwundu

By my count, that leaves us with 16 players on the current roster. I think we should offer Sarr and Rhoden 2-way contracts. That gets us to 14 on the main roster, which keeps us under the tax threshold with one open roster spot to provide flexibility for future roster moves.

I was high on BW after his first few games but soured pretty quickly. Had some hopes for Cacock until I actually saw him play. Iwundu never stood a chance since he's not eligible for a 2 way. Sarr looks like an NBA player at a position of need...so this is good news I'm glad the other 2 way will go to someone more deserving

The early release of B.Williams, while holding on to Sarr for at least a bit longer feels smart. I think it's because of how well Keon has been playing. Don't think he's a true PG by any means, but as long as he has Dame, Simons or GP2 on the court with him, which I think likely... Keon is our #4 PG. C'ya BW!

Miller and Rhoden waived: https://www.blazersedge.com/2022/10/12/23401442/trail-blazers-waive-guards-isaiah-miller-jared-rhoden-roster-news-2022-23

That puts us at 15. I suspect they will offer Sarr a 2-way contract and keep the 15th spot open for future moves.

As expected: https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/268989/Blazers-Convert-Olivier-Sarr-To-Two-Way-Deal

The Portland Trail Blazers are converting Olivier Sarr to a Two-Way contract.

Sarr was on an Exhibit 10 deal.

Sarr played 22 games for the Oklahoma City Thunder last season.

So do they still have a regular roster spot and 2-way spot open?

Bring back Melo, this team is already garbage defensively and the offense got worse

I don't know the answer for sure, but if we do... I think it would be really smart not to fill them. It would keep us very flexible if the right upgrade trade came along, and it needed to be lopsided. Should make things substantially easier when the time comes.
