Ya, some MKG vibes from that shot. Shame, love nearly everything else he brings.

But sometimes a shot is just so broke it cant be fixed. MKG, MCW, Killian, etc

Feels like more often than not, broken shots stay broken. They never really improve enough where it's justifiable to use that excuse of "he can fix it" to draft a guy in the lottery over another player who has better fundamentals.

Celtics do a little shake up while staying in contention, Raptors do a rebuild, Portland builds a contender around Dame

Still a fan of the rebuild but If we go all in, then this would be a very solid team if Grant is resigned.

Love to go all in on a rebuild and offer Dame to Houston for the #4 pick plus additional young talent they have. A third team would need to be involved to make it work.

Pretty solid trade honestly all things considered. I could see Portland having to throw in a couple extra FRPs to make this happen, but can't say this is terrible for any team to be honest.

Raptors end up with

Simons
Sharpe
Barnes
Boucher
Poeltl (assuming he resigns)

Celtics end up with

White
Smart
Tatum
Siakam
Nurkic

Blazers end up with

Lillard
Brown
OG
Grant
Williams III

Blazers might be a little on the small side at C, but overall, not many complaints.

I just dont see how that team is financially feasible.

Dame is already at 50M+
Grant will get 28M+ this offseason
Brown will get a Super Max this offseason
OG will get 28M+ next offseason

Thats like 150-170M for 4 players.

I kind of wonder where the Blazers FO is at this point? My guess is they largely have a good idea of the deals on the table given the potential scenarios that play out which who's available at 3. Probably enough so that when they're on the clock, they'll be able to decide in the moment or get a last second request for a team to up their offer.

Lonzo Ball came in to the league with a really messed up shot mechanic. He cleaned it up (some), and his 3point FG% went from .305 in his rookie season to .423 in his last season in Chicago. So it can definately be done.

Just because it CAN be done doesn't mean its a good bet.

I would suspect all the potential deals are set in place and ready to execute after Charlotte makes their pick.

This is not the NFL draft where teams have 15 minutes but a team like Orlando for example if they really want
Scoot, has to decide whether to meet Portland's price or walk away. There is no time to haggle, it's either yes
or no.

I didn’t even try to explain that to the people on the TOR board.

All these win now proposals for the most part are not financially feasible for teams are still learning
what it all means.

Most of the proposals are bald attempts to steal Shatpe and/or #3.

Brown will either be traded before he is signed to a supermax, which makes him ineligible to get a supermax with his new team, or he'll sign the supermax and IIRC cannot be traded for a year - which would make the above team and trade impossible.

If we draft Scoot and PHI keeps Harden (I think they have to since the have Joel), and BOS feels Dame is the missing piece...

POR
Dame + Watford
4
Jabari Smith + #4 and TPE

BOS
Brown
4
Dame

HOU
#4 + Jabari
4
Brown+Walker
I think if we trade Dame it will be to a real contender. He's on the Blazer's Mount Rushmore and will likely be involved in the franchise after he retires.

Love this - big fan of buying low on Jabari. Thin HOU would consider it as well if they get Harden as Brown has the bulk to play SF and Eason was showing out better than Jabari last season.

This is pretty sexy -

G - Amen Thompson or Anthony Black
G - Shadeon Sharpe
F - Brandon Miller
F - Jabari Smith JR
C - Drew Eubanks (Stopgap)

It'll be interesting to see if there will be any word on how Scoot's workout went today in Portland

I think Cronin is playing it smart, not tipping his hand one bit, and showing the teams aroung the league he is perfectly prepared to draft at the #3. Personally doubt we will, but I like the business as usual approach.

Return to Portland Trail Blazers
