Re: Game 52: Portland vs Minnesota 5:00pm Chargetv and KUNP
Portland played pretty well through 3 quarters. Lots of nice highlights. That lob from Shaedon to RW3 was amazing and Scoot’s steal and dunk was pretty fun as well. Clingan’s back-to-back blocks were nice to see.
A blown lead in the 4th is not surprising given Portland’s youth. We’ll see how they fare in Denver. Splitting those games would suggest that the recent hot play is suggestive of genuine growth.

Absolutely love his game though his handle could be tighter when he goes turbo in a crowd.
Regarding Avdjia, what the hell is going on with him suddenly being on a short leash? He hasn't played great over the last couple of games, but it doesn't seem like it matters one way or the other, that Camara and Grant are seeing guaranteed 35+ minutes a night no matter what they do.

Camara is a workhorse and the glue of this defense. He's earned minutes. Sometimes I wonder if in his prime he will be Ron artest in his Indiana days minus the headcase issues
Grant I've got nothing..

Yeah, Deni was a -2 but was -3 in the last 2 minutes, so he would have had a positive +/-. So, it was a "bad" game because he had 8 points on 8 shots, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, a steal and a block.
Camara was a -28 and fouled out in 34 minutes. Grant was a -20 in 38 minutes.
My point? This team is going to win with defense, if you players are tired... at the same time, this game is a small sample size where they broke down in the 4th quarter. Maybe nothing there... Camara has played the same number of minutes and had good games as well.

Interesting. I do think toumani has a positive impact but apparently not tonight at least based on that stat

Re: Game 52: Portland vs Minnesota 5:00pm Chargetv and KUNP
Missed some of this game
RW3 knee injury, hope it’s not serious, yet this is why they should’ve traded him. Non contact injuries are always sketchy
When the rumor came out that Cronin wanted an unprotected 1st for him, pretty much knew right then, that it was unlikely he was going to be the case
This is always the risk with Rob, the goal was to get him healthy and then get something for him, and Cronin failed to do that, maybe he will be able to trade him in the summer if he’s not hurt too bad
MIN playing without 3 of their starters (including Ant) & played a pretty inspiring game. I would take Naz Reid over Simons/Grant/Ayton any day. McDaniels had a heck of a game too.
NAW played well for MIN as well, he was a Blazer for less than a day, never understood why they dealt him away him for nothing
This was a very physical game, by bith teams
Scoot had a good game I thought, scrappy defense, couple of nice steals and a great fast break dunk, just active all over the floor
Deni should not have played this game, he’s obviously hurting
DC with only 6min, after RW3 went out with an injury in the 1st half
Grant with 38min, way more than he deserved
Ayton played well the 1Q, then decided not to show up for the rest of the game
Camara fouled out, he plays really tough, aggressive defense, but he’s got to tone it down a little on the road or that is going to happen more often
20% 3pt shooting by POR is not going to get it done. Simons was 3-11, he has had a hot shooting run of late. Still struggles when he is forced to try to manufacture a basket.
I still think if Simons was traded to a team where he could be a 6th man or play more off the ball, he could be a valuable player. Just don’t see that dynamic ever happening in POR & that is why he should’ve been traded, or should be traded, not to mention he is blocking Scoot/Sharpe
For a young, rebuilding team, Billups played essentially a 7-man rotation.
If this was a veteran laden/playoff caliber team, you could somewhat understand it, but Billups is doing his best Thibodaux impression & he is going to eventually run some of these guys into the ground.

Too many turnovers!!! Did Grant have money on Minnesota? He played like it.

Ironically it was our most tenured vet shooting us out of this one

I was just reminded, that if we make the playoffs, we'll have to give our pick to Chicago for the Larry Nance Jr trade. Gawd, that would be awful! Going from hoping for a top 3 to nothing. We should have settled that trade with the Kris Murray pick.

Such a horrible trade - that being said, this draft is pretty meh after the elite top tier. I would say the middle range (8 or 10 to 20 or so) is poor - arguably not even as good as last season IMO. It wouldnt be the worst year to finally get that obligation off the books.
On the other hand, being a bad team and having no FRP is a very hollow feeling.

Aytom 32 minutes...Clingan 6 minutes. Blazers invested a 7th pick on a 3rd string C...according to the coach
Simons-Grant-Ayton...41 points on 42 shots
minutes played:
Jerami Grant 37:31
Anfernee Simons 34:21
Toumani Camara 33:34
Deandre Ayton 32:08
Shaedon Sharpe 27:27
Scoot Henderson 26:14
Deni Avdija 22:39
Robert Williams 7:54
Donovan Clingan 5:52
Simons-Grant-Ayton = 104 minutes...Sharpe (#7)-Scoot (#3)-Clingan (#7) = 59 minutes, as backups. Great way to build for the future...and get prepared for the same $hit to happen next season
sure am glad the trade deadline has passed. Now the team can focus on further screwing up their lottery odds while missing the play-in. Such a great outcome for this season

I agree with everything here. Just stupidity on their part. If they re-ink ant and ayton it'd be even dumber but nothing surprises me anymore
