Boston has a perennial 6MOTY guy on a 4 year deal for like 7.5M AV. Unreal. I thought it was a trash contract, Brad is a killer.

Yep. This. Simons should be a 6th man, but that will never happen in Portland.

When White and Pritchard combine for 84 points, you know it's just not going to be your night...

I didn't particularly like the coaching in this game. It seemed like the Blazers were over helping all game long, which led to a TON of wide open 3pt shot attempts. I get that aggressive help is part of Chauncey's scheme...but at a certain point you have to say "NO MORE HELP", stay attached, and force Boston to take some 2pt shots, and hope that changes their rhythm a little bit.

I also felt like the Blazers defaulted to a slower, half-court pace, which was a mistake. They looked better when they pushed pace just slightly and made the Cs play on their heels.

Seemed like Blazers got a little bit trapped in a shootout, 2s vs. 3s, and any kind of shootout with Boston is going to be an L.

The problem is... when Scoot plays the way he dis last night, I'd much rather see Simons on the floor.

Depends on what you're looking for, I suppose...

Simons turns 26 in a couple of months. Scoot just turned 21. Let's see how Scoot looks in 5 years...

I'm looking at how they play and Scoot was not good last night.

Assuming POR loses to OKC tomorrow (a good bet), I am sure the Blazers front office and their mouthpieces in the media will be trumpeting their 4-3 record on this road trip as if it means anything substantial. Let's revisit this astounding feat, shall we?

@ UTA, currently ranked 27th in the league (15 wins) and barreling towards CHA (14 wins) & WAS (12 wins).

- a TWO point win, with UTA resting\not playing Markkanen, Collins, Sexton, Clarkson & Kessler. I think that is their ENTIRE starting lineup

@ WAS, currently ranked 30th in the league

- an 8pt win, No Sarr, No Brogdon, but for the most part played their team. Congrats, you beat the worst team in the NBA on the road...

@ BRK, currently ranked 24th in the league and on a 5-game bender (losing streak)

- a 19pt win, No D'Angelo Russell, but both Cam's & Claxton played. So a team playing badly, but at pretty much full strength, no excuses here

@ CLE, currently ranked 1st in the league

- a 4pt OT loss, probably the best game POR played on this entire road trip, albeit against a CLE team without All-Star Donavan Mitchell (rest). Impressive loss, but a loss nonetheless

@ PHI, currently ranked 25th in the league

- a 17pt win, to a team without: Embid, George, Oubre, 3 of their 4 best players?

@ BOS, currently ranked 3rd in the league

- a 10pt loss, and BOS was resting Tatum, Holiday & Porzingis, 3 of their 4 best players?

Oh, and to start the road trip a home win (butt-kicking) of CHA, currently ranked 29th in the league on an 8-game bender (losing streak) and if we ignore the 53pt shellacking at the hand of the Blazers, they have lost those other 7 games by an average of 21 points.

Just for reference to how bad that is, WAS has the worst point differential in the league this year (-12.2) & CHA (even including that 53pt blowout loss to POR) has a differential this year of -7.9.

The next 4 games?
@ OKC - ranked 2nd in the league, with a +12.7pt differential (#1)
home vs DET - ranked 11th in the league, with a +1.6pt differential (#14)
@ GS - ranked 12th in the league, with a +2pt differential (#10)
home vs NY - ranked 4th in the league, with a +4.4 differential (#6)

POR differential is -3.6pt (#22)

After those 4 games, they get two easier home games vs TOR (#26) & WAS (#30) and then 4 games at home versus MEM (7th in standings), DEN (6th in standings), BOS (3rd in standings) & CLE (1st in standings) and then on the road vs SAC (15th in standings) & NY (4th in standings).
