* I'm finding Blazer broadcasting almost impossible to listen to anymore. Between Lamar Hurd, the Hammerblab guy, and Brooke's puff pieces, it's icepicks jabbing eardrums

* I was really really sick of CJ after 7 years as a Blazer starter; I think I've reached a toxic level with Simons in half that time

I mean, who DIDN’T?!

As a junior in HS I went out and found myself a GF that went to Lincoln (I was at Jefferson) who looked and acted surprisingly similar, and whose name was also “Lisa”. THAT’s how big my crush was, lol…

Lasted a good year or so…

Straight to the 11 or 12 pick all for a team that will be lucky to one day even have hca before our best 1-2 players decide they don't want to be on a treadmill or we figure out we arent going anywhere. What a waste of my time this team, we are the wizards and the kings now. Hell even if we were a dynasty I'm convinced this ownership would find a way to screw it up before we won a title

This is a recurring problem with all players playing under Chauncey. Some nights, your shot is just not there. So, instead of adjusting for that - targeting players playing hot or not settling for 3s, he has a tendency to let players try to shoot their way out of a shooting slump. I might be wrong on this, but I think the Blazers took over 50 three point attempts in the last game they were blown out. If you have prime Steph and Klay, I get that. But if you're shooting like 11%, you should probably consider doing anything else.

If the NBA is investigating the Thunder for sitting their 5 starters against the Blazers, they should investigate the Raptors, as well for sitting Barnes and Poetl in the 4th quarter. Toronto knows how to lose games.

Who cares? Deni, Sharpe, Scoot, and Clingan all got 30 minutes. Not Grant, Ayton, and Simons. (Yes, Simons got 32 minutes. But the point is that the young players got to play). And, we got to see the return of Thybulle.

I'd be perfectly fine if the Blazers won out playing the young core decent minutes. Play-in won't happen, but we should be able to beat the Wizards next game. Nuggets, Celtics, Cavs is a rough stretch that likely ends any play-in hopes. But it's not like the Kings, Mavericks, Suns, and Spurs are trying to win games. Decent chance that they would just gift us the play-in bid if it meant a higher draft pick.

But yes, the Raptors did intentionally tank the game.

I thought we wanted development of the youngsters? Do we bench them now for... well nobodies?

In fairness TOs end of bench guys have also been playing pretty well. I think you guys have an interesting future. Need some guys to develop, but it looks like they are just box score browsing as a fantasy player, also watch you guys more than some other teams. Scoot has a really bright future if he can make his 3pt shooting consistently above league average. He has gotten a lot better shooting. I think it will continue. You have more talent than people think. You need a guy at superstar level, but there’s a lot of nice pieces if you can develop someone (Scoot? Maybe not… but also, maybe) or find someone. I don’t think establishing a winning culture ever really hurts. There’s a tonne of people on the lose every game wagon for TO, but I just want to see good development. Great players have been found all over the draft. I think you guys have drafted well. If you stay healthy and the youth keeps developing I bet you make another significant jump next season.

You seem to be drafting well. Finding a guy like Camara in the second round is invaluable. Keep doing that and maybe you will find yourself with the assets needed to trade for a disgruntled superstar if you can’t draft one or develop one.

Our bench guys have been closing games for a while now and winning. Even against teams not trying to tank. We beat Orlando twice with a very similar end of game lineup. They just beat Cleveland (without their best player Barnes, in fairness). One of my best friends is a big Portland fan so that’s why I watch you. Also because ever since refs robbed you in game 7 of the WCF vs the Lakers in 99-00. That 4th quarter was ridiculous. You guys have had a lot of likeable players too. All in all I consider myself a part time fan so I wish you the best.

Phoenix doesn't have it's first round pick so no advantage to tanking. Sacramento doesn't have it's first round pick unless it's in the top-12. They could tank and still not have a pick in June

Dallas will very likely tank. There's not much reason to bring AD back this season. Stranger things have happened with Dallas lately though

Blazers will likely win tonight, then go 2-7 or 1-8 over the next 9 games. 3-6 is possible but would be a stretch

Interesting schedule, no? Washington is playing well. So, the only easy games are Toronto, Utah & Chicago and "maybe" LA if they are resting everyone. My over under is going 5 & 9. Caveat: if Williams & Walker come back and play meaningful minutes, it might be a higher number. The Suns schedule is slightly harder and they are trying to win but just don't seem to be able to put it together.

at Atlanta

BTW, Scottie Barnes was subbed out @ 8:41 to go in the 4th, never to return, Shead was subbed out @ 8:44, Poetl @ 5:22

Robinson is on his 3rd team this year, lol

We had the 8th pick before that win. Now we're at 10th. Another win will have us at 12.

The battle for the play in narrative is so tired and fully agree with Wiz on the broadcast team. I watch bootleg streams just because i dont have cable and usually listen to other teams broadcasts and just in general they all seem to suck these days, it all sounds cringe as the kids like to say but i heard kevin and lamar for the first time in a while and it was so bad.

The Blazers seem fully against whatever the fan base wants at all times. We want to win with Dame, they tank and force him out. We want to tank for another star and they decide to pick up meaningless wins to try and save their personal reputations.

Astounding that the Raps really pulled all their starters with the lead in the 4th qtr of a close game and can just get away with it by paying a 100k fine, if they actually get one. They had at least a 4-5 game gap between us and still pulled that and we had to win another meaningless game to cost us a 20% chance at the 4th pick.

I want to not be a blazer fan so bad, but I have been since i was 4 years old and it's like quitting drugs. Is there a rehab for rip city fans?

It is tough Case, I agree with you...

Not that it would necessarily be the solution or even better, but new ownership would seem to be a breath of fresh air, need to remove the stench of Vulcan\Bert & the Olshey\Cronin regime, clean house, take it down to the studs.

That's you. I'd be perfectly fine if the Blazers played competitively and lost every remaining game.
