prepare to be bummed out

not only that, Goldbum says in another thread that the F.O. is still really invested in believing in Ayton being a star

Glad neither of those possibilities' played out - Ayton and Simons both gone thank goodness

I know. It elevated my opinion of Cronin and it will make the Blazers more fun to watch again

To be fair, Goldbum may have still been correct. Cronin moving/waiving Ayton wasn’t his call. Ayton’s agent requested a trade this summer, and Cronin always relents on moving players when they ask. Once there wasn’t a deal they liked and didn’t want to take salary back, that’s when they moved for the buyout instead.
