Might be interesting to see what Dundon did in the first year with the Hurricanes with front office people...

Bye Jody!!! Bye Joe!!!!!! Bye Bert!!!!!!

There's no way a guy with his reputation is gonna come in and see how this team has been ran and keeps this FO intact. Joe and CB got their golden parachutes last year, so good for them. But Joe is done in the league and that's cause enough to celebrate. No more 2 timeline BS, we've got an aggressive owner that wants to win and we have the youth and picks to make a big deal. I wonder how long it's going to take until he fires these clowns.

Joe and CB are newly extended. They wont be going anywhere. Joe signed an extension 4/7/2025 and CB signed one 4/13/2025.

I would also bet Joe sticks around longer than CB. He is nowhere near as bad as some of the malcontents here believe. CB on the other hand isnt a NBA coach.

Also, FWIW, the Hurricanes are a team that is analytics based, cut bait on older guys a year early rather than a year late, develop internally and have not made many flashy splash moves - all while remaining a NHL contender. The idea that Dundon is going to come in an make short sighted, win-now Ishiba caliber moves is not at all supported by his ownership, and involved ownership at that, of his NHL team.

If anything the way the Hurricanes are ran is a sign that we are MORE likely to keep the kids around and invest in their development rather than mortgage them for a old, win-now vet.

Malcontents? Joe is objectively trash and he knows it, that's why he gave himself that contract extension. He's gone by next summer, slide in my DM if you want to place money on it.

There is no objectivity with sports. I think Joe has had a fantastic offseason. Easily the best of the past 12+ years, maybe longer. There are lots of things to look forward to this season, I am excited to have fun watching this team. I presume you have your self flagellation whip ready to hate watch but not everyone is consistently down. This is a hobby, its supposed to be fun.

There's a history of changes in the Carolina Hurricanes front office under Tom Dundon's ownership:

Ron Francis: Tom Dundon reassigned then-General Manager Ron Francis to President of Hockey Operations in 2018, according to the Raleigh News & Observer. Francis' contract was later terminated entirely.

Don Waddell: More recently, President and General Manager Don Waddell resigned in May 2024, according to ESPN.

Other Staff: The Hurricanes also saw their Chief Marketing Officer, Mike Forman, leave in2024.

Fantastic offseason? You have to really reach into the "positive feels" dustbin to see it that way

Reached for their draft pick, we will see if they are smarter than every other NBA GM, previous draft picks have shown that they probably are not...

Trading Simons is fine and all, surely better than resigning him, but for 35yr old Jrue Holiday, whose play has declined and is owed ($32/$35/$37) over the next 3 years is questionable, if they were acquring him to deal him I could see some sense in it and maybe they do at trade deadline, but you don't add 35yr old declining vets to a team that is at best trying to compete for a play in (or worse 7/8 seed thus forfeiting their draft pick to CHI) and has not even hit .500 record in the entire 4 years of his tenure (while keeping\playing vets mind you during that time)

Signing Dame, nice feel good story and all, but out all year, 36, coming off Achilles and expecting to be the man again next year? Are we revisiting the trade it all to put a winner around Dame narrative again? Thought that ship sailed already, a little late for that..

Letting Ayton walk for nothing, fine, though now they have serious question marks behind DC, a guy who can't stay healthy (Williams) and shoudl have been traded several times already and a young rookie (Yang) from the CBA where never were NBA players like Edmond Sumner look like MJ

But pointing out obvious concerns is being negative.....

A positive note? The team has a new owner, maybe there is now a light at the end of the tunnel...

I love the blazers, I hate the people running them. You and TSE can GFY's. Seriously, I've never said anything about either of you and you can't help yourselves to get your little BS jabs in every chance you get.

I am elated. You're right this is the best offseason we've had in years. But when you've been in the desert for days, drinking piss tastes pina colada. My favorite player is back, and the team is getting sold finally. I can't wait to watch this season.

I need you to not respond to my posts anymore though. You and TSE (a mod of all people) have been poking at me for years. Slide in my DM's and actually talk to me instead of this passive aggressive harassment or leave me tf alone..

Sounds like Dundon could give Rich Paul grey hair.

Slide in my DM's, lets meet up and get to the bottom of whatever your problem with me is. I'm done with both of you. Seriously, message me and let's meet up or leave me TF alone. I can't post on this site without either one of you harassing me. Let's meet up. That would be fun. You live in Portland? You want to **** with me until i snap and then point at me like i'm the issue. Years of this BS. I'm done with the reactive abuse BS. DM me homie. **** both of you. Years of this BS.

This is not acceptable, not even in the least. If you post your opinion in a public forum then others are welcome to respond, criticize and disagree with that opinion. If you don't like seeing their replies you can ignore them. Click on their profile and hit "add foe" and save yourself the stress. Your only other option is to not post opinions. But threatening other posters and telling them to come fight you is not even close to reasonable. Please take a break from this forum and come back with a clear head, I welcome your opinions and your perspective but not your anger at others. I think I have been clear that is a line that no one is allowed to cross and while there is a lot of bickering and disagreements that I am fine to tolerate this crosses the line more than anything else I have seen as a moderator for this board.

This is also problematic. I have had several reports regarding your posts as well so you are on warning. Please don't antagonize others in this way or I will respond similarly.

Locking this. Blazers have been sold and are no longer for sale. Discussion unrelated to this recent scuffle can continue there.
