It's just like Channing goaltending every shot after the whistle blows. Yeah it doesn't matter, but it's a mental thing, saying you're not gonna get anything easy against us. If anything it was rude for Tmac to lay the ball on the ground. Oh well, I hope I'm not in the minority on this one, cause I really admire that attitude.

Come on people , it wasn't rude by T-Mac to put it on the ground , the clock was ticking down what does it matter if he dribbles it our just puts it on the ground.
There is nothing wron with what Jones did neither , you guys were behind if you were winning then it would have been a problem.
It's not like Jones went at T-Mac and tried to steal the ball from him , T-Mac put it on the floor so he took it and made the basket.
It doesn't matter if the losing team takes the meanningless shot only if the winning team does it.

I don't think it matters a lot, Shabi, but I do think it matters a little. The difference between dribbling the game out and doing what McGrady did is that dribbling the ball out at least shows enough respect to keep the pretense that you're still competing against the losing team. Dropping the ball and leaving it there is like saying "meh--we don't even have to try."

I don't really care all that much, but I can certainly see how there's a difference and why some folks might take offense at it.

LOL I wouldn't care if TMAC took one last shot. It doesn't matter. If the game is decided, then one last shot either way is not a big deal. File this whole thing under "so what?"
